For an episode promoted as being light-hearted, this week provided some real drama. The Gabrielle plot was the big one as at first, it seemed her dream of being worshipped by her old home town and going full-on diva. But then came the amazing scene between her and the nun, Gabrielle showing the anger over not being believed (no surprise as even her own mother didn't believe her stories) and how it's finally time to let that pain go. That shot of her and Carlos driving home was nice to show Gabby trying to break off from that hard past. The plot with the twins seemed pretty goofy as I saw it coming a mile away they were moving across the street. I am surprised Mrs. McCluskey bought into them so easily but Lynette sabotaging things were nice. But then we got the great bit of them snapping that the reason they're so unable to take care of themselves is because Lynette never taught them, bringing up how she wanted them to have the childhood she never did. It's a great layer to Lynette, making you care about her more despite her mistakes. The Paul/Zach argument was worth the wait as they finally have it out. It's interesting how Paul still sees himself as a victim, unable to accept his inner darkness and a nice twist that Zach's words end up ruining things for Beth and Paul as well. The Bree story was sad but made sense in the long run as she'd want to sacrifice her happiness to make sure Keith didn't follow his father's footsteps. And the Susan plot seemed a waste until the last scene shows a new turn that leads into the next episode. Overall, a good episode that reminds you the show still has some life in it.
I thought this episode had some very touching moments to it. I feel a bit sad that Bree and Keith ended their relationship however the points she made was very important and it brought me back to how she gave up her business for Andrew.
Gabby's story was extremely good, I loved how it had the twist with the nun and how she confronted her.
I wanted to see more of Renee :(
I actually felt sorry for Beth because she actually genuinely loved Paul, but he couldn't see it after listening to what Zach said and I feel that this is going to bring his destruction. Overall a very nice episode looking forward to the next one. I wonder how this season's gonna end. I hope it's not the last!
If only this could be the end of Zach. I didn't like that character years ago and I don't like him now.
That being said, a good enough episode of Desperate Housewives here today. The main storylines were all good for the most part, except for the Susan nonsense. They really need to find her a kidney so we can end this because I feel like I am the one on dialysis with how painful it has been. If I were the writers I would have Renee give her the kidney, only for her to die during the surgery.
Lynette's empty nest struggle was not bad, although I am not really ready to say goodbye to those kids. Gaby's storyline was fun too.
Bree/Keith: what a shame this relationship has come to an end. The scene where the two part company was extremely well acted by Brian Austin Green and Marcia Cross. I will miss keith.
Lynette/Her Sons: very funny, the comedy came from her in this episode. her sons moving in with Karen was funny (and the comment about Lynette's boobs) and it was nice to see more Scavo Family Action.
Susan/Renee: I cant believe susan would try and get the perks of life using the 'i am ill' excuse. Looks like Karma has won though as she collasped. nice to see more Vanessa Williams in this episode too.
Gabrielle: Eva Longoria continues with the top notch acting as she confronts her past. the nun was horrible and Gabrielle was strong and powerful and able to shake the ghosts from her past away.
Paul/Beth: I felt so sorry for Beth. Emily Bergi has been great this season and so has Mark Moses. Zach also appeared and was finally able to put paul right.
This was a very interesting instalment of Desperate Housewives. First up, Gabby's storylien was very good, as we see her confront the demons of her past. It was quite funny to see everyone acting as though she was a big shot celebrity!
Lynette's storyline with the twins was not particularly interesting, but the scene with them driving across to the house opposite was very funny!
Bree's storliyne is definitely becoming very interetsing, and I caan't wait to see what will happen next!
Also, the storyline for Susan as a very funny one today, as she uses her condition to cut queues!
All up, this episode has good comedy an d a decent set of storylines. Hence, i definitely recommend it!
It is sush a shame Season 7 actually started pretty well but since the riot episode Desperate Housewives seems to be going from weak to weaker with ludicrous storyline's and lazy scipts. Lynette's storyline this week actually had a fair amount of potential with her two eldest sons moving out it could have been a nice emotional storyline for lynette that reflected the relisam of parenting but instead the Desperate Housewives writers did a silly story with the twins moving in with karen, which was just stupid and not funny!!
Gaby's storyline this week was another serious one i did like the idea of her visiting her home town but once agian desperate housewives made it into a stupid storyline were the whole town worships her, however i did enjoy the scene were gabrielle comfronts the nun who hadnt beleived her when she was younger, that scene really showcased how well Eva longoria can do serious acting and not just comedy. Susan's storyline was also nothing special, her finding out that her dialysis gets her out of doing things like jury dutie, that was just a preictable storyline and her fainting was just silly the show played it to the comedy when they should have made that a serious intense momemt, that just shows how much the show dosnt even care about theses characters.
Bree's storyline was also weak as it has been all season long but im so glad that her and keith have split up i really hated that relationshipim also glad it came to a natural end and wasnt full of fighting and drama. Renee was agian had virtually nothing to do in this episode i feel sorry for Vanessa williams but this show dosnt need renee.
The mystery was ok this week paul kicking beth out was a big development i just dont see were the mystery goes from here now we know that zach shot paul. Overall a poor episiode that shows me that Desperate Housewives is past its best.
Farewell Letter was a great episode of Desperate Housewives. I enjoyed watching this episode as Keith spent more time with his son, Lynette and Tom force the twins to move out on their own, and Susan uses her Dialysis as a way to get special treatment. I thought the stories all played out well. There was lots of character and plot development. The twins learn they must grow up, as Lynette realizes she made them the way they are. I also thought Gaby made significant progress by visiting her hometown. Paul made some surprising decisions. This was an entertaining episode. I look forward to watching the next!!!!
