This episode was FRICKING AMAZING!!! I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED IT! Season 8 is on a roll!

I have to say I am glad that there haven't been many sneak peeks lately. It feels so great watching an episode without knowing just what is going to happen. I was seldom bored watching the teaser from having seen it before, but it was great to get it out of the way, and at least Mary Alice's v.o. was awesome. That thing about Bree's hostessing abilities, it was clever, well developed and insightful in regards to the character. She doesn't get many good v.o.'s recently, so that one was indeed a win. Also, her other narrations were good as well. Anyway, I'm loving Bree's story. Absolutely loving it. I had no idea I would love it so much, it's crazy, but it's been so ably handled thus far and so amazingly juicy. Like, one of the juiciest things the show has done in recent years. They've crossed the boundaries, and the juice is pouring. I love it! Marcia was outstading all throughout this stellar episode, and I am actually now really looking forward to seeing this story pan out, as opposed to how dreadful I thought it would be. Love it! That church scene at the end... amazing! And I loved that Reverend Sikes followed her to the bar, it showed a new dynamic to their relationship we'd never seen before. This episode spoke so much about Bree's character. Well, about all the characters, really, it just resonated so true to them. And the writing was snappy and fun, and very insightful in the dramatic scenes. Jason Ganzel did a bang-up job with this episode. It truly was outstanding. And the music... EVERYTHING!!! I loved this damn episode so much! XP
Renee, Renee... was she the star of the episode or what? I'm sure she got more screentime than Susan or Gaby. She had her own thing going on, she was a part of Lynette's story, and a small part of Gaby's... she was really very well used, as she has been lately. Vanessa Williams is super talented, and that should be acknowledged more often. She has made the character so much fun, and Renee Perry has really grown on me and the rest of the fans, as opposed to how sadly disappointing she was when she first joined the cast. I loved that Ben's story with the fake proposal didn't drag for longer, and I am actually scared for the characters (Ben, Mike, Renee... mobsters creep me out

). I wonder what will come of this story, I'm sure some big bad will pop up and try to whack someone soon. I'm scared. And intrigued. I am. The show has made me feel that way again, and I am fricking proud.

Lynette, Lynette, Lynette... perhaps the biggest downer of the episode, which isn't to say it wasn't enjoyable. Felicity was amazing as usual (I liked the baby and brittish voices), and I was actually smiling while watching her scenes almost all the way through the episode, and I actually LOLed when she kept saying "although" during the dinner scene. I'm surprised she and Frank ended on a bad note, aren't they supposed to get together in the next episode? Anyway, this story wasn't exactly new territory, but it does seem to be putting something to bed, and it does speak for the character of Lynette. So, I'll take it.

Susan and Gaby... the part of the episode I was looking forward to the most, and it did not disappoint. Eva was great, Teri was great, Daniela was great, and Justina was outstanding. One of the best guest stars this show has had. She nailed bitchy and heartbroken perfectly. Amazing. I just wish the dramatic scenes could be carried out for longer, they just seem to end so suddenly by the act breaks. I know people keep saying Susan's stupid and what-not, but... she's just so purely kind-hearted. I really think she's the nicest of all housewives. She's not as self-centered as Gaby, or as controlling as Lynette, or as judgmental as Bree. She's Susan, and she's the sweetest. And what she did for the Sanchez family... it was risky, yes, but she did it with the best of intentions, and what's important is how things turned out. Marisa is safe from harm, and Claudia is no longer under the illusion that her husband was an angel. Great stuff.
This season... it's winning me over so bad. Every single episode, at least since the fifth, has been so juicy and surprising and fun. The comedy is top-notch, the dialogue is well-written, the mystery is compelling, and the drama is touching. "Desperate Housewives" has still got it, and I can't wait for next week's episode and the ones that follow it, although I certainly don't want this show to end. But if it is ending, I can see it really going out on a high note, judging by this string of great episodes.
