ABC (ended 2012)
I liked the episode, but I didn't love it. This one felt the most filler-y in a little bit. Even though last week's episode was sort of filler-esque too, this one just seemed to kind of plod along without many laughs.
Susan's story kind of bored me, even though it was nice to hear Adele referenced again. Still mad she didn't show up to her own son's funeral, but with all the weird, out-of-place character absences at that, what can you expect? I mean why exactly did Lee opt to come over and help Susan clear out Mike's closet, yet not show up to his funeral? A simple line like, "Oh, it's the least I could do, Susan, since I couldn't make it to the funeral" would have sufficed. Sheesh, writers...
I honestly don't know what's going to happen with Tom and Lynette now. Is he just going to sentimentally hang onto the papers now that they're fully ready to be processed or are they actually going to divorce now? Kind of makes a reconciliation seem unnatural if so. Oh, and I officially hate Jane. I disliked her before but now? Pure, venomous hatred. What. A. Bitch. She was snarking with Lynette from the moment she walked in the door and if I'd have been her, I'd have made sure she was wearing that entire mixing bowl by the time I was done.
As per usual, Gaby's story was just filler laughs (and some of the only ones in this episode). I will miss Eva Longoria's comedic talents in scripted shows next season. I have to say that I was annoyed though that Carlos was all pissed off about Gaby's new job taking off. I understand being perturbed about the wedding ring issue but, dude, your wife is actually making efforts to support you and your family financially for once; you should be proud of that.
As for Bree, this Trip Weston thing just feels too much like Carl as far as a romance is concerned. We've done this before -- prissy, conservative Bree falls for a slimy lawyer. Here's hoping the spoilers indicating a romance for these two turn out to be wrong. I just don't wanna see it again.
At any rate, Marcia indicated on Facebook that she just got "the next script", which I assume is the finale one and that she was "on the edge of her seat" so I hope we are too. We definitely kind of seem to be winding down to a wimper with this latest episode and there's only two left.
i agree with what mully said - this episode felt very filler, even more so than last episode, but i didn't mind it. although i am glad to see DH has steady, stable numbers right now, and even beat out two new shows.
susan: teri is really doing a good job with the material she has right now - looking so broken down sad, but not being "basket-case" sad. that being said, this storyline was probably the least strongest of the night, even though it wasn't that bad. i'm glad they kept mike in a good portrayal (even though i knew he wasn't really having an affair and/or had another child), because if they killed him AND made him look like a bad guy i would be pissed. also, i knew julie was going to eventually keep her baby, but the way they did it (rather than julie just out of the blue because of mike dying keeping it) was less expected. nice to hear adele again, but i wonder if she's still alive? why wasn't she at the funeral, story-reason why? (we all know the real reason - they couldn't be bothered )
bree: bree's little bridal shower for renée was so pretty - i loved that pink cake! i really hate detective murphy and his acting; the other detective i hate too, but at least he's not delivering his lines so bad. murphy's just feel so scripted and fake. hate that the episodes keep ending on him, too! his forging of evidence was really stupid -the street was circled in red, but thenumbers were written inblack? i also don't like trip weston. he feels like a karl-repeat, but i don't like him nearly as much as i liked karl. ikinda would rather see bob be bree's lawyer XP was that amistake when bob said that bree needs a criminal defense lawyer? isn't bob that? he defended danny bolen for attempted murder, and susan for shooting katherine, somaybe i misunderstood something. another thing i hope i misunderstood - bree said that orson's letter is inadmissable in court because orson is "gone". does she mean dead? did they really kill a once-main character off-screen, or is that just whatbree thinks? and the way she addressed the letter was a bit too nonchalant, in my opinion; also how didshe know it was orson's?
lynette: while i kinda miss confident lynette from the old seasons who would've bitched out jane for serving the divorce papers rather than throwing green dye at her, jane totally deserved it. did anyone else like their banter in the beginning? i did well, jane totally crossed the line though - coming intolynette's home to bring her divorce papers that tom -said- he would deliver. ughh. and jane totally knew what she was getting into by dating a married man, and moving in with one!but it wasn't fair for either lynette OR jane, since tom wasn't really making a decision. i guess they're now officially divorced if tom actually files it? totally excited to see lynette date tom's boss.
gabby: gabby was funny, even though they've given her abad storyline for herso close to thefinale.although i completely understand carlos being upset about gabby flirting with male customers, not wearing her wedding ring, etcetc, he had no right to be upset about her making moremoney.he wanted to quit his job, he wanted to make less money, he can't blame gabby for wanting to make some so that they don't have to completelychange their lifestyle. (i still think he should've just kept the job and donated to charity, but whatever) and i think it was sweet of gabby to want to treat him once in awhile, and carlos actually blows up over that? i wonder if they won't be together by the end of the show.
this episode didn't end onenough of cliffhanger forthree weeks break - just detective murphy. again. did anyone else think it was weird how renée was so rude to susan? she said in 8x17 how she didn't want to go to the funeral because she felt it was her fault, and now she's being rude to susan? and gabby bothered me a bit inthe beginning with how she was the first one who wanted bree to take the fall for this. great friend.
Very mediocre episode and annoying how it repeated so many things we've seen before. They were on a good streak, but barely kept my attention with this one.
Probably the best of the episode, even though it had its flaws. I never like it when characters from the past turn up out of the blue, unless you know from before there might be a possibility. For example, you know someday somebody's mom may pop up. That's okay. But a sister we've never heard of? She should at least have been mentioned and while they did give an explanation for it, I still didn't like it. It gave Julie a nice reason to keep the baby, but I just hate these random additions. This did give a reason why Adele was absent for all these years, she and Mike apparently had a fight? Anyway, Teri and Andrea had some good scenes, I just don't like the idea of creating new relatives, especially so late in the game without even really introducing them to us.
This was just plain annoying. Yeah, Gaby was in her right, but her behavior at that restaurant was rude to say the least and Carlos is annoying because he regrets his decision, without really feeling bad about it. And now suddenly Gaby's a good friend to Bree? Ugh, they've completely ruined this character for me.
Been there, done that at least 2 times this season. There's just no progress in this. The documents are signed, but we all know this still means nothing. I like the idea of Tom and Lynette having some time apart and I like Jane (even though she's gone into attack mode like I expected), but they didn't plan this out. They shouldn't have brought Jane into this until the second half of the season, because it feels like we have 3 episodes with a climax, and then we have those same 3 episodes again. Every time Tom turns Lynette down, she decides to go after him again, he feels regret, but not at the same time as her,... it's just driving me crazy and taking all the joy out of watching this. Ultimatum for the writers: on April 29, make Jane pregnant or push her under a train. Just decide, dammit!
This could've been such a good final arc for Bree, but they're doing it wrong in so many ways. First, Murphy is a moron, butthead, imbecile, all the bad words you can imagine. His vendetta against Bree makes little sense and he's right back where he was two episodes ago. It's horrible to see this being dragged out just to make it to the finale. Second, Trip is indeed the new Karl. Scott Bakula had no chemistry with Marcia whatsoever and he was just boring (and I'm studying to be a lawyer, so this really depressed me). My only hope is that he turns down Bree soon and she decides to not have a man or something. Third, what's up with calling Orson dead? They didn't imply it in any way, it's just an assumption Bree makes. The police obviously doesn't know the letter came from Orson, so there can't be any confirmation about this. And fourth, they're taking all the tension out of it by making it seem the police doesn't have a case. It seems like they have a pretty good case to me, the Fairview police is just completely occupied by idiots! And Murphy tampering with the evidence... that was eye-rolling material. DH really doesn't know how to write for their cops.
So yeah, I'm not happy Frankly, every week since Mike's death I've lost interest a little bit more. I'm worried Renato might be right, Mike's death may have been this season's biggest moment and it's all downhill from there.
And to Mohammed, Lynette was in the car that was backing up so that's the reason it looked like the same car
I really liked this episode.
I liked her in this episode, she is so calm considering being accused of murder, I liked the interaction between her and the lawyer but I truly hope they don't get together. The detective was really sinister in this episode I hope he gets caught for manipulating evidence.
It was ok but I saw it as a bit of a filler if I'm honest but the scene at then end with Julie was really significant, I wasn't expecting it and I'm glad she is keeping the baby.
Surprised that she signed the divorce papers, I wasn't happy about this but the storyline was well played.
It was slightly boring but not the worst, I Hope her job won't cause arguments between her and Carlos.
|This episode disappointed me a bit, it was rather tame compared to the previous installments... I found it, most of all, really predictable, except for when Murphy faked evidence, didn't see that coming. :O I haven't hated a character this much since George Williams back in season 2. And I hated how they ended the episode with him referring to Bree as a bitch who he wanted locked up... when they did exactly that two episodes ago. What the hell? Also, Mary Alice's teaser voice-over... I'm fairly confident it's been done before too. Maybe 2.10? I don't know, the whole episode fell a little flat out of predictability and repetition.|
I have to say that this episode really proved that DH is really in top form with fantastic storylines!
I really loved that lee was involved! At first I thought that the box was just a porno stash nd when they said that it could be another child I didn't believe it cause I knew it couldn't be true , so I was still surprised how it turned out to be & how it was surprisingly the way it was for Julie to decide to keep the baby. All in all it was very touching & I just LOVE susan & Julie together!
This I LOVE LOVE LOVE ! This job was the best way to stay true to her character nd help push the storyline further nd to explore the male/female dynamic between her nd Carlos. Not to mention the comedy was top notch. Also Carlos should get over being upset that she's the main breadwinner now.
-Bree- I loved this storyline too. Her being arrested was hilarious nd her reaction was like the prim & proper Bree we all know & lovable. If Bree is gonna endup with a man I really hope it's gonna be trip! I really like him even though he kinda reminded me of Karl in a way but is soo different too. I think it's kinda cuz I'm a big fan of Scott burka too lol. Also I'm seriously hating that cop what a scumbag!
-Lynette- This was just heartbreaking! I freaking LOVE Lynette & Tom! I've been a hardcore fan since the beginning & I've never hated her or seen her like a bitch or a shrew nd I think people who say that are soo mean nd ridiculous! She's this beautiful person who has a few flaws (not big ones) but she is a human being & same with Tom they compliment each other. On Jane ok here is MY opinion I disliked her from the beginning & I hate her now but I do think that the she's been portrayed beautifully nd I do believe that she is needed to remind Tom & Lynette that they do belong together nd i dohope everything turns out well for her (but not with tom)to cause I have grown a bit fond of her & that's saying some thing because the thing that DH never gets enough credit for is how it portrays people nd situations so realistically nd true, if this was any other show Jane wouldve been this super evil bitch who'll do anything from the beginning to get her way but no she didnt , she wasn't perfect either but she does deserve happiness with someone else!
RenatoB, Yeah, the episode wasn't good. So close to the finale, and this is what they are giving us!! And you're right about all the characters. I mean, what does Tom want?! He doesn't want to be with Lynette, but he doesn't want to leave her either. Its been the same thing the whole season. I agree with all your complaints for the characters except for Susan. She has had horrible stories the whole season, until Mike died. For me, Bree's been my favorite the whole season, but Gaby has been the funniest.
I didn't like 8x02, 8x03, 8x05, 8x11, 8x12, and now 8x19.
|I'm surprised you didn't like it ( btw my least afvorite eps this season are 8.03, 8.05 & 8.11 ), I loved this episode. I loved pretty much everything about it, even the filler stuff which was about 3/4 of it.|
