Dale, Lily's birth father shows up on Wisteria Lane, trying to take her away, Gaby says they'll meet in court. Dale tries to simply take the baby, but Carlos stands in his way.
Gaby goes to Dale's school, a Christian high school, and tells him if he signs the release papers she'll help him with college, but Dale turns her down and tells her that his brother wants him to get the baby back so he could get his girlfriend, the mother, back. When Dale gets back to an assembly, Gaby intervenes and stands up in front of the whole school and acts she graduated from their school in 94, then she goes on and says a speech about the student's high morals and how they would never knock up a stripper, and if they did they would be off the team and lose any chances for a scholarship. Dale hurriedly signs the release form.
Later, the police show up at Gaby's door and claim they have an order to take Lily away, Carlos tells them it must be a mistake because the birth father already signed away his rights, then Gaby and Carlos are shocked to know that it is the birth mother who wants her back.
In total disbelief, Gaby runs out her house where she finds the birth mother comes out of a police car. The mother says they've decided to "try the whole family thing". Carlos quietly hands over Lily while Gaby cries and says "you can't do this, it's too late, we've already fallen in love with her". Carlos helplessly holds Gaby as they watch the car drive away.
