Bree confronts Edie about her kiss with Orson. Edie didn't take it seriously, but Bree did, and when Edie fails to take it as seriously and tells Bree to stop being such a bitch, Bree slaps her across the face. A war between Edie and Bree would begin from then on.
Edie has new clients interested in a house on Wisteria Lane. Edie and the man enter the house to take a look, while the woman stays outside with her baby. Bree talks to the woman, and tells her what kind of woman Edie is. The woman tells her husband that they won't be buying that house, and Edie doesn't understand what is going on. She then sees Bree with a victory smile on her face, and understands what she did. Meanwhile, Orson wants to take Benjamin to spend some time with him, but Bree won't allow it, and says she has already called a lawyer. Orson, who sees himself as Benjamin's father, calls a lawyer as well and writes down the whole story about Danielle and Austin and the fake pregnancy, leaving the notes on his motel room coffee table. Edie visits him to talk to him about what Bree did, and finds the notes, while Orson is showering. She reads them, and tells Orson that he could just relax, she'll figure out how to deal with Bree.
Edie visits Bree to tell her that she knows everything about Benjamin, and that she owns her now. Whenever and wherever Edie needs anything at all from Bree, she will make it happen and will not hesitate one bit, or else Edie is telling the truth to everyone. Bree meets with Susan, Lynette and Gabrielle for poker, and tells them what happened. They congratulate her for trying to protect Danielle, and join forces in order to ruin Edie's little blackmail scheme. The women tell Edie that they know the truth now and that they won't be her friends anymore, and that they'll let everyone they know be aware of what kind of horrible things she does. Edie tries to apologize, but the women don't care. Edie leaves Wisteria Lane to spend some more time with her son Travers.
Mike's mother, Adele Delfino, comes to visit. Adele is a southern belle who says everything that's on her mind, and that kinda bothers Susan, especially because Mike confides on his mother everything about his klutzy wife, and Adele keeps trying to correct Susan. Adele wants to turn her daughter-in-law into a kitchen chef and a perfect housemaker. Adele also brings up Mike and Susan's financial troubles once when they are cooking, saying that Susan should get a real job. Knowing that Adele will leave once the baby arrives because she doesn't stand children screaming, while they are having lunch at a restaurant, Susan purposedly spills some club soda on her legs and pretends her waters broke. Susan and Mike rush out of the restaurant, and Susan tells him the truth. The next morning, on Mother's Day, Mike tells his mother to stop being so rude (honest, is what he said) to Susan, and in the meantime Susan goes into labor. The baby is born on Mother's Day, 2008.
Lynette and Tom hire a psychiatrist, Dr. Dolan, to work on the family, especially with Kayla, the little troublemaker. Lynette tells him all sorts of evil things about Kayla, and she overhears the conversation, so she acts like a really nice girl in front of Dr. Dolan. Later, Dr. Dolan calls Tom and Lynette into his office and asks Lynette if she loves Kayla. After some initial hesitation, Lynette says she does love Kayla, given the way she entered their family, and that she's been really good to her stepdaughter, but it has become hard, given the circumstances. Dr. Dolan tells Lynette she should spend more time with Kayla. The two go shopping, and Kayla asks for a very expensive dress. Lynette refuses to buy it, and Kayla realizes they're only doing it because the psychiatrist told Lynette to, so she insists on getting the dress, and Lynette finally caves. Afterwards, Kayla asks for a corn dog, and Lynette tells her she can eat something healthy at home. Kayla threatens Lynette, saying that if she doesn't get what she wants, something's gonna happen. Kayla threatens to hurt Penny, and Lynette slaps her. The shopkeepers and customers in the store are shocked. Kayla is horrified, and so is Lynette, regreting what she did. The two leave. The next morning, on Mother's Day, the Scavo kids prepare breakfast for Lynette and offer her little turtles, but there is no sign of Kayla. She is busy calling Dr. Dolan and letting him think Lynette is abusive towards her. She says she doesn't feel safe in that house.
Gabrielle's tenant Ellie is still supposedly performing tattoos for cash. Gabrielle and Carlos' relationship has gotten way better because of Ellie. When Ellie takes Carlos for a walk, she leaves a scent lighted on her room, and the fire alarm is set. Gabrielle hears the alarm and breaks into her room, realizing there wasn't anything wrong. She tries to turn off the alarm, but one of the batteries falls and rolls to under the bed. Gabrielle goes get it, and finds the stashes of cocaine Ellie was keeping under her bed. Gabrielle talks about it with Carlos. They don't want to turn her in, but if they don't, and the police finds out, Carlos could be arrested for hiding a drug dealer in their house, after all, he is still on probation. Carlos and Gaby meet with a detective to discuss their problem, and the detective calls another detective, Paul Bullock, who Gaby recognizes as one of Ellie's customers. Det. Bullock says they have been onto Ms. Leonard for a while now, but they are trying to get to her supplier, so they need the Solises to act like they don't know what is going on with Ellie, while they run the investigation. Gabrielle states they don't wanna do that, because Ellie has become their friend, but the detective reminds Carlos that he is on probation. On Mother's Day, Gabrielle calls Ellie for lunch, concerned over having to be quiet about what's going on, and is surprised to see that Ellie prepared a bouquet of flowers for Gaby, to give her on Mother's Day, because she has been a better mother to her than her own mother ever was. Ellie hugs Gaby, who is moved by this, and heartbroken to have to keep lying to her.
Dylan is mad to learn Katherine wants to move because of Wayne, and Dylan refuses to go anywhere. Dylan is talking to Wayne when Katherine walks in on them, and tells Dylan to throw her gum out and say goodbye to her father, to go practise for the school recital. Dylan does so, and Katherine and Wayne talk about the past. She tells him she doesn't want reconciliation, but Wayne tells her he is sorry for what he did to her in the past. Katherine admits she isn't worthy of his apologies, confessing she slept with so many men while they were married. She even tells him that Dylan isn't really his daughter, which angers Wayne, who makes a move to beat her, but Katherine waves at Mrs. McCluskey, who was nearby, and Wayne realizes he can't do anything to her with people watching. The two part ways, and Wayne picks up the gum Dylan threw into the trashcan. Wayne tells a partner to run a DNA test, telling her he wants to confirm a victim and a suspect in a case he's working on are related. The partner tells him they aren't, and Wayne gets shocked. He watches an old video tape with a younger Dylan after a bicycle accident. Dylan has a huge scar on her arm. Wayne tells Dylan to come over, and she does. He talks to her about her mother, and then checks her arms, realizing there is no scar in neither of them. He then shouts at Dylan to get out, scaring her. Dylan later cries in her mother's arms, after Katherine had told her Wayne was incapable of loving and Dylan didn't believe her.
