this was another ok episode of desperate housewives nothing spectactular but ok, i liked the lynette stuff with her sons imagniary friend thaat was pretty funny, the gaby stuff was ok but pretty much just filler, the susan stuff was pretty funny i thought her sending zach away was quite suprising when mike finds out he isnt gonna be very happy, overall an ok episode but still not up there with the standard the first season set

  • Lynette falls over herself yet again trying to impress her misbehaving children

    6.4
    "Fair"
Lynette’s actions in this episode are making we want to stop watching this show. I find it appalling that she can be such a terrible parent as to reward her child with boundless attention for smacking his teacher with an umbrella. What happened to the strong, powerful maternal character this show used to emphasize? Watching Lynette show her children that they’re in charge and refusing to punish their misbehavior appropriately makes her seem pathetic and a terrible example of a female role-model. I know this season has made it seem like her superiors are terribly misguided for suggesting that she make work a priority but I think that watching this show’s only working woman go to the extent of pouring coffee on her boss to appease her son’s attention seeking performances provides a disgusting image of women in the workplace. I don’t believe a woman’s place is in the home, but I do think Lynette’s place is on the wrong end of a pink slip
  • A good episode, but once again, it wasn't up to the usual standard.

A good episode, but once again, it wasn't up to the usual standard. Nothing really major happened. Okay, so George returned and started seeing Bree, and Andrew got sent back to the centre for bad teenagers, Gabrielle started a prison riot, Lynette worried about her son's imaginary friend, Susan found Zach and paid him to disappear and Zach seemed to think he somehow still had a shot with Julie. I have started to dislike the character of Zach, he’s annoying, I wish he would get written out of the show. This season isn't nearly as good as season one. I found myself starting to get bored while watching this episode. So stuff did happen, but it wasn't dark, comedic and interesting like the first season which was a bit of a let down. The show seems to have taken a new tone already. I was also disappointed that we only saw Edie for a few minutes, and no Betty Applewhite. Hopefully Desperate Housewives will pick itself up again next week.
  • Problem Child Andrew - Part Two.

    7.9
    "Good"
Towards the midway point of the previous season of Desperate Housewives, Andrew totally went off the rails, running over Mama Solis, doing drugs, and just generally being a pain in the butt. Whether you like it or not, it's a side of Andrew that returns in this episode.

A delayed response from Rex's death and perhaps the end result of his mother back on the dating scene, this episode sees him furious and knarky with psyco-pharmer George (Who can blame him?). The best bits of this episode is undoubtedly their feuding, wether it be via dialogue or attacks, it's fun to watch, and it's great someone's finally taking George down a little. Sadly it ends here however, as by the end of the episode Andrew's back to military camp. It seems a dissapointing end to the rivalry, but i'm pretty certain we'll see him again by the end of the season. Plus, this also gives the writers a chance to focus on the other junior Van de Kamp Danielle, we can but hope.

Child issues is a central theme to this episode, and it's satisfying to see that Parker Scavo is getting fleshed out a little. An outcome of ex-stay-at-home mom returning to work, little Parker gets himself an imaginary friend in the form of a British Nanny. What's more she has an umbrella. She can probably fly, sing songs and make tidying up fun too, but since Disney already did that, the writers here are a little scarce on what makes this friend "fun", so let your imagination fill in the gaps. The storyline ends with her being ran over by a trash lorry, with some good old fashioned Lynette quirkyness in between.

Both Scavo parents, or rather, the two that play them, namely Felicity Huffman and Doug Savant are superb. They're chemistry on screen is entertaining to watch, and at times, they genuinely feel like a married couple. As of late Tom's been given loads of character development, so it's great to see that this episode retains that policy, giving the actor a genuine chance to outshine some of the housewives (hello Teri Hatcher). Equally impressive is Felicity, who, despite given an entertaining, funny plot is still given a scene of her crying at the end over the most trivial of matters. What once seemed an innocent act of meddling soon transforms itself into a horrific act of crime due to her character's tears, and interestingly, it really makes you feel a little guilty at laughing at the story and her meddling.

The other problem child the show is renowned for, Zach Young also makes a welcome return. Mike worried about his wearabouts sends out missing posters, and along with Susan, go out searching for him. He's found, but after a "wacky Susan moment" and a dull and uninteresting scene he's gone again, off to Utah to search for his father, who i'm still hoping will return later on.

Elsewhere this week Edie retains her ankle injury, we're reminded of Gabrielle being pregnant (the only thing other than her visual appearance keeping her in the show?) and a community driven scene featuring three housewives, which I absolutely loved. No Applewhites this week, but with their secret still unresolved, those fireworks should be due any week now...

  • An Ode To Fathers Written by John Pardee And Joey Murphy Directed by Robert Duncan McNeill

    8.0
    "Great"
With so many episodes of Desperate Housewives centring on the pitfalls and trials of motherhood, the time has come for an episode in which the fathers get to play a role because aside from the men being the main breadwinners, fathers on this show have been something of an uncharted territory.

Before I talk about the Dads that are still living, Dead Rex’s passing is finally addressed in a more believable manner as Andrew shows pangs for his father. Whatever your stance is on the guy, it’s easy to see why he’s angry this time. Rex was probably the only one Andrew ever felt comfortable talking to, especially when it came to personal manner and although my love for Bree is still there, it’s incredibly easy to see why Andrew does think she’s a terrible mother.

From his perspective, Rex has barely been laid to rest and already his mother seems to be moving on by entering a relationship with an unstable loser all because a polygraph tests indicated she had deeper feelings for George. If George was a genuinely understanding guy and cared for Bree like he claims to do, then he’d back off instead of his stalker approach to thing. If he also wasn’t to wheedle his way into the Van De Kamp’s family, then in this episode I would have thought Andrew was being a jerk as per usual but he really wasn’t.

George went out of his way to goad Andrew when the latter told him to leave at the start of the hour and his outburst during dessert after Andrew’s smutty remarks just made him look like a fool. Normally I’d wish Andrew gagged or punched if he had said it to someone else but seeing as its George, I’m on his side with this one. Bree did remind George it wasn’t his place to discipline Andrew and I have to commend her there but I wished she had been more firm with her new lover on personal boundaries. George continued to harangue her at Andrew’s swim lesson and of course Andrew attacked but Bree sending Andrew back to Camp Hennessey was stupid.

First of all, that place wasn’t effective on him first time and secondly while Andrew may have been stupid to have pummelled George in full viewing, surely Bree isn’t dense enough to see why? She did after all have to fight George off her before Andrew’s intervention. If I was Danielle, I’d watch myself around the creep, although when it comes to George, as bad as he is, I blame Bree that bit more.

She talked to George about wanting to put her children’s feelings first, yet she virtually ignores Andrew’s and even blackmailed him into having dinner with her and George. She’s also refusing to acknowledge any grief and is letting George get the better of her. The old Bree would’ve never let this happen.

While I’m things that have never happened, Mike’s chances of playing Daddy aren’t looking good. Sure he issued Susan an ultimatum – accept Zach or else and she caved in rather instantly but how bleeding obvious was it that this particular condition would be broken so quickly it would feel like Susan never made it in the first place? Very obvious indeed! She may have been fine with putting up flyers and helping Mike search in hostels for Zach but Edie was right on the money that Susan was doing it for selfish reasons.

It was predictable that she wasn’t going to tell Mike she had spotted him and her second encounter with Zach did warrant a discussion worthy moment of whether or not she did the right thing in terms of giving him money to find Paul. If Zach hadn’t talked about Julie in such an obsessive and creepy manner, I would’ve hated Susan for this action but seeing as he did and Susan knowing first hand what he’s capable of, I did understand where she was coming from. Sadly though she didn’t tell Mike about Zach and that was selfish and it’s only a matter of time before it comes to bite her in the behind.

Speaking of behinds, Gabrielle certainly can be a pain in one but so far this season her wily ways haven’t had me swearing at the screen in disgust. This week’s attempts of getting a conjugal visit was a riot and the fact she was met with so much opposition raised questions. Why was Carlos so against it at first too? You’d think being locked up all the time that as a heterosexual man, he’s jump at the chance to have sex with his wife. The appearance of Adrian Pasdar as smug new lawyer David Bradley (hey, didn’t he have a similar role on Judging Amy?) was amusing enough. Pasdar certainly has a certain charm to him even he was fairly obvious in his desire for Gabrielle.

The biggest giveaway to that was more to do with the fact he essentially told her to divorce Carlos and less with the leering towards Gabby. I like the fact that the writers are trying to iron out Carlos and Gabrielle’s marriage rather than skim over things and the father link was used greatly with Carlos stroking Gabrielle’s tummy to communicate with their unborn child. Although subtlety isn’t a tack often used on the series, when it is used, it’s effective and never more than that particular moment.

However the best father on Wisteria Lane (and increasingly becoming one of my favourite characters) has got to be Tom, who is not only getting better at his stay at home Dad routine but also serves as a reminder that Lynette isn’t completely the worst parent on this chaotic neighbourhood. This time last year, we had gotten so much focus on the twins (who are back by the way), that the emphasis on Parker has been a nice change of pace. Parker is a good kid but like his brothers prone to assault. The results of Lynette’s absenteeism brings a Mary Poppins inspired imaginary friend and while it’s a plot that’s both silly and cheesy in equal measure, the underlying level of seriousness in Lynette’s ability to juggle the balance between career woman and mother is greatly put under the microscope.

Being replaced by someone who isn’t even real certainly took its toll on Lynette and her attempts of disposing of her non-entity rival ripened some fun bits for the ever talented Felicity Huffman, though it was Doug Savant who dominated this plot. Tom was the wonderful voice of reason, the great confidante, and the wise cracker. The only thing he wasn’t, was in his Speedos but even scruffy and this guy oozes a certain level of sex appeal.

Also in “My Heart Belongs To Daddy”

Housewife of the week: Gabrielle being leered at by the prisoners of Fairview County and then said prisoners turning on her lawyer before David. This woman certainly knows how to stir shit.

Gabrielle (re lawyer): “He called me a bitch”

Carlos: “Well, were you acting like one?”

Andrew: “Are you blackmailing me into coming to dinner?”

Bree: “You wouldn’t know how far I’d go for even seating”.

Question – how much longer is Bree going to wear black? I get that she’s a widow but it’s getting a bit redundant now.

Edie (re Zach/Mike): “Julie told Karl, Karl told me and I sent out a few emails”

    Susan: “I appreciate your discretion”.

Julie told Karl about Mike and Zach being father and son – does that not feel out of character for her? Also when Lynette started balling in the principal’s office, I wonder who she pretended died to excuse Parker’s behaviour.

David: “Trying to keep the old marriage alive?”

Gabrielle: “Why is everyone against me having sex with my husband?”

Bree (re Andrew): “He’s even laughing at George’s jokes”

Danielle: “That’s why it’s freaky. They’re not even funny”.

Missing characters this week were Paul, Julie, Karl and surprisingly enough Betty and Matthew (plus hostage) were absent.

Andrew: “You know my parents had a great sex life. I heard them through the wall in my room once”

    George: “Please shut up”.

Has anyone notice that every episode so far this season has been written by two writers and not one of them Marc Cherry?

Susan (to Zach): “I think you should go to him. He’ll want to take care of you, that’s what parents do”.

Tom: “What have you done with Mrs Mulberry?”

Lynette: “Until there’s evidence of a body there’s no crime”.

Chronology – nearly four weeks since “Next”.

An interesting and slightly more unusual episode, “My Heart Belongs To Daddy” continues a trend of great episodes but again something’s missing. Although the opening and ending narrations from Mary Alice are the best we’ve had so far this season and our men of Wisteria Lane got some much needed focus, something just wasn’t there. However the episode did move nicely so the lack of Applewhites was fine by me.

  • My Heart Belongs to Bree...But My Brain Needs to Belong to Susan... Written by John Pardee and Joey Murphy Directed by Robert Duncan McNeill

    "Perfect"
"And the best are the ones who make the women in their lives... feel like good mothers."--Mary Alice

This week on Wisteria Lane, everyone is losing someone but then they come back but they know that the feeling of satisfaction they are experiening is always short lived. Another topic covered this week is the role of fathers in the lives of their children or even future children. If not for Mary Alice's (always welcome) voice overs, I really would have to agree with other users that it doesn't exactly fit with the episode unless you look really hard at it. Otherwise it's perfect.

Gabrielle goes on yet another one of her many visits to the Fairview Country Prison where she causes a prison riot among the inmates when she slaps Carlos' lawyer after he made an offcolor remark on her infidelity. When she visits Carlos, he asks that she find him a new lawyer since the old one had dismissed their case. Gabby meets the new lawyer who is young and attractive and wants Gabby for himself. Gabby sets her demands and makes it clear-- she is not available. She asks for a conjugal visit "to keep the 'ole marriage alive", according to the lawyer David and she will pay him $600 an hour. David sets up a visit the following day where Carlos and Gabby make love and discuss the future involving their family.

Susan plans to get back to where she had left off with Mike when she feels is ready to deal with Zach. She tells Mike that she promises that she will help him find Zach and that they will all be a happy family...and all that jazz. In reality, Susan accompanies Mike to the park where she runs into Zach when she is buying ice cream. She moves toward him but he quickly runs away. When he comes after her with a stick she runs back to Mike and tells him that she has not found him. The following day she goes back to that same park where Zach is sitting on a park bench. In lieu of what happened in the past, Susan offers him lunch and an oppourtunity to talk about what is going on. Susan informs Zach that his father is still alive and that Mike did not kill him. Zach feels relieved but wonders if Paul may be in Utah. Susan tells Zach that it would be best to go home with her and that at least he will be safe. But when Zach wants to go looking for his father, she offers him money to go find him. That's back to Square 1, Susan if Mike ever finds out!

Lynette learns that her youngest son Parker (who is gradually becoming the son with more senority) has a Mary Poppins-like imaginary friend named Mrs. Mulberry. Lynette realizes that Parker's friend may have made her first appearance shortly after Lynette returned to the work force. Lynette therefore tries to become more involved in Parker's life so that he will grow out of his stage. Things worsen when Parker clubs his teacher with "Mulberry's Umbrella" and refuses to be without the umbrella. Lynette takes matters into her own hands by throwing the umbrella out on trash day and coming up with a valuable explanation. Lynette manages to get rid of the evidence but it looks as if Mrs. Mulberry is too quick for even Lynette when the garbage truck loses the umbrella which lands on the Scavo driveway. Parker looks frantically for the umbrella but Lynette explains that Mrs. Mulberry has gone away for good. Parker tries to except this but is still hurt. Little does he know that he will become more hurt when he eyewitnesses Mrs. Mulberry and her umbrella ran over by a garbage truck while getting into the car. Parker runs into Lynette's arms which makes her feel good for the moment but saddens her later when she feels guilty about trying to get rid of Parker's special friend.

Rex hasn't been dead 4 weeks and George Williams is already pulling out the big guns. Luckily (or even unlucky) for Bree, she has someone monitoring their moves: Andrew. George tries to kiss Bree but they are caught by Andrew. Andrew reminds George that it is getting late and that he should go. George tells him he is not ready which leads to a shoving fight between the two. Bree breaks it up and tries to get the two to get along. Bree then decides to have George over the following Friday for a home cooked dinner. The dinner goes over well until Andrew tells George of his parents' former sex life. George becomes offended and tries to discipline Andrew. When Bree won't back him, he storms out. The following day over watermellon, George tries to manipulate Bree to send Andrew back to "Camp Hennessy" the rehab camp but Bree will only send him if he does something drastic. Leading George to egg Andrew on when he arrives uninvited to Andrew's swim meet and begins to make out with Bree. This causes Andrew to interrupt his meet by exiting the pool and punching George. The fight is soon broken off and Bree sends Andrew packing.

Other important events in "My Heart Belongs to Daddy"...

*No Betty or Matthew Applewhite this week. I really don't know how they would fit into the plot this week if they were included anyway. And Edie was only in one brief yet highly entertaining scene which was all we needed to see of her.

*Gabrielle's storyline is becoming more and more interesting since she and David seem to be like two peas in a pod. I wonder where the story will take us.

*Bree's storyline was once again my favorite, as creepy George is continuing to worm his way into her life. Talk about some breathing room, Rex hasn't been dead for four weeks and already George is putting the moves on her. It's too early. Although Andrew is probably one of my least favorite characters he was only trying to do what was best for his mother. Then again it was wrong of him to shove George even though George is a wolf in sheep's clothing and probably the most hated character in Desperate Housewives (for me at least).

*Finally, a scene where the ladies of Wisteria Lane are all together gossiping on the current events. Loved it, I just wish Lynette could have been part of it also.

Another week, another great installment. "My Heart Belongs to Daddy" is probably the best of the first four episodes of Season 2. The episode was amusing, informative and excellent. The show is definitely in my opinion, not slipping!
  • Heh, pure comic brilliance! Mrs Mulberry steals the show.

    10
    "Perfect"
This episode is definitely one of the most hilarious of the new season. Probably the most memorable story line from this episode is that of Parker's imaginary friend - Mrs Mulberry.

After Lynette gets fed up of "her" and at night throws her umbrella into the rubbish bin, Parker is sad the next morning. Lynette very convincingly tells her son that perhaps Mrs Mulberry had a little boy in England that she had to look after. His name is Spencer, and he doesn't have a mummy or daddy who love him - he's an orphan!

    With no hands!

Being English myself, I'd like to assure everyone that I know of no little orphaned boys named Spencer missing appendages...

Soon, they find Mrs Mulberry's umbrella - in the middle of the road, as it had fell of the "garbage truck" - "bin lorry".

    "Mrs Mulberry!"

    >>The "Garbage Truck" promptly crushes the umbrella.
  • What happened to the women?

    7.0
    "Good"
Like all the others, this episode was pretty good. Unfortunatly, the characters were out-of-character. What happened to the Susan who told the truth and was a good person? Who is this Susan-person that is scheming, and lying? The real Susan wouldn't have to lied to or about Zach just to make her life a little better for a while. Which is another thing: Susan is smarter then that. She wouldn't believe that she could get away with the whole Zach thing. Now, I could be wrong, maybe I missed something, but after having seen every episode of Desperate Housewives so far I think I have a somewhat good idea of when the writers screw up. And they did with this episode.
  • My Heart Belongs to Daddy may be the theme of this episode. The role of Father may have been what spurred several charcters to behave as they did. Although it was not one of the strongest episodes, it was revealing of the characters' states of mind.

    8.2
    "Great"
The episode My Heart Belongs to Daddy was a vehicle to demonstrate the state of mind of several main characters and to reveal their feelings. Gabrielle was feeling a strong need to make her marriage work with her jailed husband and assure her child a Father. She got pretty tough with her lecherous lawyer and demanded a congugal visit with her husband. It was funny how it almost caused a riot at the jail. Bree acted very selfishly by having the boyfriend over which angered her son who obviously misses his Father Rex. The son is very worried that his mother will be sucked in by the boyfriend, who will try to replace Rex. This ended in a sad but funny scene of the two guys fighting it out at the swim meet. Bree cannot see how much her son needs his Dad, which I found unsettling. Lynette who is quite busy bringing home the bacon has trouble dealing with her son's substitute Mom, imaginary Mrs. Mulberry. He does NOT like his Mother taking on the Father's role. This is how he is dealing with the role reversal in their home. Until he gets his Mom back, he will punish her by favoring Mrs. Mulberry and the Umbrella. It was funny how Lynette felt guilt over "killing" Mrs. Mulberry, but very sweet how her husband comforted and encouraged her. Good for him! Susan was the real problem this week. She once again interfered with Mike's son getting the truth. The boy truly needs a Dad, but the real Dad would be the best. Susan's fears for her daughter have allowed her to not do the right thing. All in all it was a good eppy, revealed a lot, but could be improved upon.
  • This was finally another great episode of desperate housewives!!

    8.7
    "Great"
It had taken the writers a while but they did it again!! Another great episodes withe many things revealed!

The way that Susan made sure Zach would stay away. Yeah I'm sure you're father is in Utah you should check there. You know what I'll give you the money (or something like that) Well I understand her. I don't think Julie will like it for him to be back. Or maybe she will and they'll get together. Well I don't think we will hear from him soon.

And Gabriella haha soo great. Just because she wanted to have sex she's putting up these whole rearrangments. Really she's gonna screw that lawyer soon!

Aaaw and Little Parker it's just really sad for Lynette but hey what's she gonna do about it?

Aaw and where is Bree's son going back to Bootcamp I don't hope so. It's a great character and the actor play's him very well.

Well anyway this was annother great episode they should do this more often.
  • Still very very good!

    9.0
    "Superb"
This Desperate Housewives episode is NOT borring or bad it's still has all its charm and interrest.

Clever work the writers to carry on the story with the same caracters.

Sadly some caracters are not present.

Impatient to see the next one !

    Carry on the good work!

Its the only series I watch here in France!

  • Lynette is pathetic with her motherhood guilt. Susan and Mike are getting boring. Only, George and Andrew with Bree on the middle are funny to watch. The show is slipping.

    6.7
    "Fair"
I know that Lynette has sacrificed her career to raise her children, which is a legitimate choice. But all season 1, we saw her having regrets about it. And now she regrets not being at home. Make up your mind and do not bore us with it. If she was wanted to have it all she should have married a talented men but not just a sweet, good-looking guy.

Susan, Zack and Mike storyline are not very good. I do not think it was a wise storyline idea for the show to have Zack as Mike’s son. Susan and Mike has less and less interesting.

What is making this episode worth watching is the confrontation between George and Andrew. Andrew is a wonderful character. My husband and I love it last year and it is fun that they continue to exploit his twisted mind.

  • This is a good Example for a good episode of Desperate Housewives, but much to be improved!

    10
    "Perfect"
These episode was charged with many laughs although there was no mystery which wasn\\\'t an issue because it was relaxing at some point \\\'cause it was filled with more storyline for the characters that can be use by the writers to create a plethora of interesting & funny things to happen in further episodes.

I hope the writers really take care of the story because some scenes of the present season have been pretty calm and insipid than the first season and the viewers are talking about it with disappointment so the creators must put all their focus to improve immensly the quality of this season, they can still fix many details of the story because its only beggining of the season but I now this will be possible during the season with another great season finale!
  • This episode was one of the best so far this seasons. Not much mystery, but funny and interesting.

    9.0
    "Superb"
I really enjoyed this episode. It lacked mystery and the Applewhites, but made it up with comedy and interesting storylines.

Let me start by saying I am a Susan fan and have been since the beggining. I really enjoyed her in this episode. She made an adult decision concerning her child. Usually we get to see Julie make adult decisions, while Susan runs around like a dingbat. It was very nice to see the reversial. Although I dont agree with what she did in a way. She wanted to bring Zach home for Mike. To make Mike love her. BUt the moment he started to talk about Julie she realized as a mother what she had to do. I think she put her love for Julie first. Eventually the truth will come out and Mike may hate her. But at the moment she made the decision for her family. As much as I dont like Edie she hit the nail on the head. Susan was helping Mike, because she wanted him and her to be okay, but she really didnt think there was any possible way of finding Zach. That is what she was counting on. It was so funny to see Susan chasing Zach with the icecream in her hand. Also one of the funniest lines was when she was telling gabby and Bree and Gabby said, "Thank god you were wearing flats." Only Gabby!

I also loved the part were Gabby slapped the Lawyer and he called her a name. It was great to see the inmates take up for her like that. You could tell that she never had anyone take up for her by the look on her face. Like she had no clue what to say or do. I was very glad that(so far) she resisted the other laywer. I was glad that her and Carlos got there visit. But i have to agree with the laywer on one part. Will those visits really keep Gabby sexually satisfied. This is the woman who had an affair with a teenager! I am really starting to enjoy the characters of Gabby and Carlos much more this season. They are so much alike and yet so different, that there on screen chemisty works well.

Oh poor Lynnette. What can we say about her. MURDERER! j/p I cant believe she killed the nanny. Lynnette is truly the best character on the show. Felica has defiently earned that oscar. Lynnette handles everything so well. And it was great to see Tom there for her last night when she finally broke down.

I saved Bree for last, because I used to really enjoy Bree's screentime but not so much in this episode. She is turning into a hypocrite. She made the comment to andrew that he couldnt wear his shirt out because he represented the family and didnt need to embarrass them. Bree is so perfect and always cares what people thinks (this is part of what made her character so lovable) She is still morning her husband still wearing black and doing the "right" thing, but invites a man over to dinner, is seen in public with a man, less than a month after her husbands death. I think they are stretching her character to much and making it very unrealistic! Enough about that. Andrew was so funny. I loved when he told George about the orgasms. And Bree timed it just right with the noise(she must really enjoy dessert). I really hope that Bree doesnt really send andrew away and that he gets george. Andrew is evil but in this case I will vote for the lesser of 2 evils...GO ANDREW!

All in all another terific installment despite the absence of the Applewhites. Cant wait until next week.
  • Desperates Housewives is losing it...

    6.5
    "Fair"
I love desperate Housewives but this second season is really not extraordinary as was the first one. I am really disappointed by this new season. (That's just the second one damn!)

There is not the intensity as was the first one with Mary-Alice Young and the really great season finale.

Bree is not longer the bitchy mother, Susan is totally silly with Mike and plans to take away his son Zach. Actually the plot about Mike's son as Zach is not really good and realistic...

Why create an imaginary character for Preston? totally out of character. Lynette is always the same... carrying for her family but totally out of plot...

Carlos is still in jail... the new lawyer seems to be a big bastard and I hope that Gabrielle will never going out with him... Fortunately John was not in the episode...

    A really not good one.

    i will brake it down.

bree- andrew is so funny. i loved the scene with andrew questioning george but the swim meet scene was weird. goerge is such a creep. as always marcia was great.

susan- she was sort of anoying. i loved watching her try to run with the ice cream. i love gabbies resplonce to when she told them, thank god you were wearing flats.

lynette- i feel really bad for her. parker is not the only one having trouble adjusting. i love this storyline. tom is a great. i am glad to see the writers do something with lynettes kids than making them all hyper. i am really starting to adore lenette, and tom. now i think she earned that emmy.

gabbie- she is so funny. i love the inmates attention. it was funny when she slapped the lawyer. her scenes with carlos were funny. i love it when gabbie says to the lawyer are you hitting on me? he says what would you say if i was? gabbie says i'm pregnant. when is it going to start showing though.

    this was a great epesode.

  • Probably the best episode of the season (so far).

Last night's episode was, in my opinion, was the best of the season. It had its funny parts, with Gabrielle causing the prison riot, and it had its serious parts, with Susan attempting to help Zach.

What I really like about "My Heart Belongs to Daddy" is how it starts out, Gabrielle wanting Carlos' lawyer to get congugal visits for her and Carlos, which causes a riot at the prison when the inmates were starting to beat up on the lawyer when he started calling her selfish, causing Gabrielle to fire him.

One part of the episode that I really didn't like were the scenes with Bree, George, and Andrew. It's obvious that George and Andrew don't like each other and George is doing his best to get him out of the picture so he can get into Bree's life, more than he is in it right now. I also find that George is trying to hard to get Bree to like him while she is wanting to become a better mother to her kids. And, one part of the stoyrline I thought that it was rather extreme of Andrew to say how he has heard his parents in bed to George, saying how he can never replace his father as a partner for his mother. The only upside of this storyline was when George shot out of his seat during dessert and told him to go to his room.

As for Susan, I found her actions rather suprising when it came to Zach. For Susan, she tells Mike that she will do her best to think well of Zach, and even helps him look for him by passing out missing person flyers and going with Mike to look for Zach in the park that runaway and homeless kids go to. I found her actions somewhat unredeemable for not telling Mike that she found Zach after she bought their ice cream. Afterwards when she went back to the park and found Zach again, I thought that she would redeem herself by bringing him back home, however, once he started talking to Susan about Julie, I found my hopes of redemption going down the drain when she offered to give him some money to send Zach to Utah to find his father.

Moving on to Lynette, I found myself somewhat shocked at her reaction to learning of Parker's imaninary friend. I know she feels like it is her fault for his new friend, but I found the ends that she went to to get rid of Mrs. Mulbury really mean, because of throwing out her 5 year old son's imaginary friend was due to jealous motives on her part, because she most likely felt threatened of an imaginary nanny will love her son more than her.

Even though there was some parts in the episode that I didn't like that much, it still was a great episode with good parts in it. I can't wait until next week's episode.

This was a very good episode, the best parts would have to be the scenes with Bree and Andrew. This epsiode was all about baby's daddy's. Lynette and Tom's kid Peyton created an imaginary friend, Mrs. Mullberry. Lynette kills her. Gabrielle is back to having sex with Carlos in prison. All the inmates think shes hot. Susan found Zack and is giving him money to find his father. And then Bree and Andrew. Bree is now dating the pharmist, and she invites him over for dinner. Andrew asks if he has even been with a women, and tells him some very revealing things about his mother. In the end Andrew hit him, and he get sent away. Again this was pretty average, but it was still really good.

Let us observe a moment of silence for the dear, departed Mrs. Mulbury.

    * as Lynette breaks down in both the kitchen and the principal's office *

    There, there, poor dear.

For all everyone else has posted, Lynette does have it tough. She's alienated from her friends, alienated from her family, her son is exhibiting some seriously troubling mental problems, and it looked like the hug she got from Tom was the first one she's gotten in far too long.

A rival imaginary friend is one thing, but an imaginary nanny -- one viciously and violently in tune with her son's every whim -- is quite another, and nothing any mother would want to confront. Her decisive action had tragic consequences, but they need communication in their lives, not trickery.

Such as dear, sweet Susan's, for instance.

She tried to be understanding. She tried to be sympathetic. But between Edie's catalog of Zack's past sins and Zack's laser-like focus on her daughter -- not to mention his threatening her with a 2x4 when she was basically armed with chocolate sundaes -- she needed for Zack to not be in her life. And yes. This is going to get back to Mike. And Mike is not going to be even a little bit pleased.

Weirdly enough, I do still like them together, although Susan is as manipulative and scheming and conniving as any female creature on this show and I do care about Mike's happiness.

Now if, rather than to head him off to Utah, Susan had gathered Zack under her wing and presented his "rescue" to Mike, she'd have been in a much better position in the long run to control Zack's interaction with Julie.

No one can deny the sheer comedy of Teri Hatcher chasing someone with an ice cream sundae in either hand. The temptation for her to trip and land with one on each breast must have been a towering thing, and I'm actually glad they resisted it. Her cover story for where the sundaes went was terrible, but it would've been even worse for her to try to explain //that//.

Edie was spot on, both in her assessment of Susan's help in the search for Zack and in the likelihood of Zack's recent psychotic actions re-emerging.

    And Gabi.

This show rarely introduces a lady-killer like Attorney David Bradley into a mix like this one without the lady find herself on her back beneath him within an episode. Yep, she's trying to rebuild things with Carlos, but she needs him, and he's going to have some fun with her. Mary Alice's narrative in his introduction was sinful, and -- pardon me, but was that not Maisie Gibbons in his lecherous clutches during one of the opening wipes they showed us? Delicious!

Pregnant or not, this suburban Lothario is going to climb right up into that little blue dress of hers if she turns her head for a second.

I am glad she got the conjugal visit. The scene with the inmates poking at her attorney with rakes was just fun.

Rocking //my// world, at least, was Andrew.

Poor Bree. She's trying to get over the fact that her body thinks she's in love with George, and she's trying to be a better mom, not just send her kids off to Camp Psycho everytime something goes wrong.

And Andrew just watches her twist.

I enjoyed his extraordinarily evil George-baiting at the dining table, in direct proportion to Bree's blackmailing him to be there in the first place.

Never mind what Andrew said to George -- despite it being //professional grade// impropriety.

And never mind the conversation where George told Bree what Andrew had said.

I really want to see the conversation between Bree and Andrew afterwards.

"Honey, when mommy has invited guests for dinner, please don't discuss her orgasms and the various sounds she makes during them. You know how awkward that makes mommy feel."

On second thought, that might be Lynette's response.

Bree's response will be calculated to emasculate, verbally castrate and otherwise render impotent her son of 17 years, and it will succeed.

I ... really hope we get to see it.

If you can't tell, I thoroughly enjoyed this episode. It was a nice focus on the men of Wisteria Lane, and despite the lack of on-screen development of the Applewhites' storyline, it was a perfectly delicious romp all the way through.

    Well done, guys!
  • I’m beginning to dislike the show’s format. It lacks any coherence when you have four (or five) separate storylines. I say bring the housewives together more.

I seriously think the show is in desperate need of tweaking, before it loses its oomph. First off, I’m beginning to dislike the show’s format. It lacks any coherence when you have four (or five) separate storylines. It’s depending too much on Mary Alice’s voice-over to tie everything together in one theme. If it weren’t for her narration, who would’ve thought the episode was somehow a tribute to husbands and fathers?

I say bring the housewives together more; the writers should make the storylines interweave. That seemed more natural last year, since the central mystery (Mary Alice’s suicide) all affected them. This season’s mystery (the very hush Betty Applewhite) hardly makes a dent into their lives. Instead, the second season is riding on the fading ripples from last season.

Right now, the show is okay, but disappointingly not ambitious. The storyline that’s consistently good is Lynette’s. We know she has good intentions but the woman always end up with schemes: the rat, the coffee spill, and now, the umbrella incident. This mom sinking to new lows are the new highs of the season.

On Bree’s side of the story, it was nice to see Andrew back; he’s always a hoot to watch, but what a waste that he has to go away. I think they really need to hurry up with the George story. Unless the writers don’t have any interesting ideas, I have a feeling this is going to seriously lag. Get to the part where Bree finds out about him and plans her revenge – or are we saving that for sweeps or worse, for the season finale?

Ditto to Susan’s storyline. They should quickly resolve her problems with Mike and Zach. And get her back on track, on being suspicious of Betty. Come on, I’d like to see her snooping around. As for Gabrielle, I don’t really know what to make out of her. She seems out of character lately (apparently not a cheater anymore). Maybe the writers have something in store, but if the twist is that she’s being out of character, that isn’t much.

Much like Alias and a few other ABC shows, this one is dying.

ON the good side, the nutty pharacist is great and the way he's plotting to get rid of the son is brilliant. Love the maniacal glances into the camera as the son watches his mother dab at the congealing blood.

On the much larger bad side.

SUSAN: no way in 'you know where' does a mother allow for the possibility of engaging with the Zach character. Sending him to Utah makes sense, but the whole scene was terrible to watch.

BREE: For someone with a foundation in propriety, it makes no sense to even toy with the idea that the pharmacy guy is 'more than a friend'. Can't wait for the obligatory 'let's her hair down' scene. For writing this bad, you just know it's coming.

THE REST: blah blah blah. Edie Brit - vacuous. Spoiled Rish Wife (don't remember her name) - sex and money. Yawn

Not sure I'll watch next week or even ever again
  • Better than the last two.

The last two episodes were not that funny, and not the best work of the show. This one, however showed promise that the show has not lost its luster. LOVED Andrew and George. LOVED Lynette trying to dispose of "Mrs. Mulberry" and the results. The congal visits is a little unrealistic, but I'll let that slide. Gabrielle and Carlos have the best storyline right now. And they are still fresh and funny. I also think that the show works better without Alfre Woodard (Betty). She is a great actress, but she doesn't fit in with the rest of the cast at the moment. I think that's why this one was better than the others, well except the premiere, which I happened to love. Perhaps Betty should have some spunk and maybe a sense of humor and she will work better. See the problem is that her character really hasn't developed into anything yet, and probably won't until we found out what she is hiding. Oh well, moving on. Please more of Edie!! Loved her one and only scene with Susan. Also, Susan just pretty much ended her relationship with Mike if he ever finds out the truth.

Some of the writing is clever - clever lines -- but - per the Storyline, the plot - seems like the writers are taking a rest - and just meandering along. George's smirk to Bree's son was intresting after the fight. The Actors though are playing everything too CASUAL in general - suddendly. The INTENSITY is missing. Perhaps the Directors' fault. The Characters are becoming UN-BELIEVEABLE. Clever lines are said - but- mostly this is becoming BORING - meaning - the Actors SEEM bored - just speaking lines - and, yes, just SUDDENDLY there is mostly NOTHING really CONVINCING.

Conjugal visit? Why in the hell does Gabrielle want to have sex with Carlos? I mean, just cause of the whole thing with whats-his-name? And what's the deal with the immoral lawyer guy? What, is he planning on seducing Gabrielle or something? Well at any rate, looks like Gabrielle and Carlos are shacking up again.

Meanwhile, an imaginary friend? Okay, I guess that's not too weird, but it gets a little disturbing if your child's imaginary friend is Mrs. Poppins. So Lynette's kid is pretty screwed up right now. But man .. her plan to "murder" Mrs. Mullenberry blew up in her face when she her umbrella returned ... only to be run over later!

Wow ... George sucks. He's seriously screwy. And Andrew is now at odds with him, I get that, but that talk at the dinner table about Bree climaxing and stuff was pretty gross. Especially for HIM to be talking about it. Pretty clever though, you have to admit. And wow .. he puts salt on his watermelon and Bree eats it with a knife and fork ... wow ... just wow. His evil plan to screw Andrew over worked ... showing up at his swim meet and kissing his mother threw him over the edge. NOw Andew is history as well, and still nobody knows George was the one who killed Rex.

So the truth is out. Susan doesn't really care about Zach, he doesn't even think they'll really find him, and she made the mistake of letting Edie know that. But that scene in the park was HILARIOUS! Susan's ice cream dripping everywhere then Zach threatening to kill her with a 2x4. How could she ... to keep Zack away from Julie she lied and didn't tell him about Mike ... instead she's paying for him to go to Utah .... Mike will never forgive her if and when he finds out. Now, Mike still searches for Zach, unaware that he is gone because of Susan.
