This was another fantastic episode from season 4 of desperate housewives i loved the theme of haloween as the show has never done that yet and i thought seeing all the characters dressed up was really entertaining.

lots happend in this episode danielle gave birth to her baby, the scene were danielle says that bree should have the baby was really sad

Susan had a good storyline as we laern that mikes father is in prison

lyneete had a really amazing week as we learn that she a beaten cancer it was so emotinal when she saw the dead possum

Overall a great episode the only bad point was that wasnt much katherine

    Danielle: "I'm nothing like you"

Bree: "You always say that like it's something to be proud of".

If there's one themed episode that this series needed to do, it was definitely a Halloween themed one and thankfully the producers finally decided to give us one. Given the crazy amount of antics that occur in this series, Halloween would be a perfect backdrop for even more crazy stuff.

For Danielle, after her failed attempt of getting a cushy life with Phyllis, she's back to living at home under lock and key. Naturally that would piss anyone off but with Danielle she seems to be taking extra exception to it. I say be grateful that Bree didn't stuff you in the basement.

Bree is naturally less sympathetic about Danielle's plight and more annoyed at her for getting spotted by Lee. In fact Bree seems even determined to put her back in that rotten convent that Phyllis had the decency to spring her out of. See Danielle, just when you think Bree can't piss you off even more, she threatens you with nuns.

It's even worse for Danielle when Lee and Bob invite the neighbours to their Halloween party and for all the obvious reasons in the world, Danielle is the only one who can't go. Although I still find the girl irritating, I can understand why she's so pissed off at Bree.

There's an interesting exchange between Bree and Danielle when the latter admits to hating the child she happens to be carrying. I don't know why but I can think of why Danielle feels that way. Bree has forced her in seclusion and plans to raise the kid as her own. It's not exactly unlikely that Danielle would think the baby is the cause of her bout of bad luck.

Another interesting thing is Bree pointing out that despite all her moaning, Danielle might actually feel love for the child. Given that Bree is so desperate to raise the child as her own, I'm almost surprised that she would try and encourage to care about her child. Danielle, true to form just rips Bree's theory into pieces. It looks like she's still not keen on the idea of an unborn child riding rough shot over her life.

Seeing as Bree has managed to greatly annoy Danielle even more, there's one characteristic that both women have a knack for and that is revenge. Fortunately Danielle isn't as extreme as Andrew in the revenge stakes so there's no clumsy attempts to seduce Orson or call the cops and claim abuse.

Instead Danielle decides to attend the Halloween party at Bob and Lee's in all her pregnancy glory. The better part is that she does this dressed as Bree, much to the sheer hilarity of everyone else. With Andrew looking like a tit as Cher, Danielle is so perfect groomed as her mother it borders on the uncanny.

The writers also aren't shy in milking all this comedy value for what it's worth and while I've never been a major fan of Joy Lauren's acting, the girl certainly deserves something for her spot-on parody of Bree. Better yet is Bree's suitably annoyed expression when seeing Danielle and the comic gold of Karen figuring out who Danielle has come to the party as.

Of course this is also the very episode where Danielle's water break at the wrong moment. If Bree and Orson can make up stuff about retractable forks, then jesting about Danielle's burst being part of the costume isn't much of a stretch. No that would be getting back from Bob and Lee's to the Hodges without drawing anymore attention to themselves.

However there's the bigger problem of delivering the baby safely and that means enlisting Adam, who's already that Bree has been faking a pregnancy all along. Well he is an obstetrician and Bree's been acting so suspiciously that it makes sense that Adam would figure it out. I don't believe however that Adam won't blackmail Bree with this bit of information if an opportunity approaches.

There are two scenes in this episode that are incredibly tear jerking and the one featuring Bree and Danielle once the child is born is definitely moving. Bree gives Danielle the option to keep the child when Danielle admits to caring about her son but in the end, it's Bree who ends up with a new child. Greatly played by Marcia Cross and Joy Lauren, both actresses did a damn good job in that scene, especially given that Bree and Danielle both have to live with the decision they've made. Danielle looked like she was tempted to keep her son and Bree almost looked willing to let her. Keeping this as a secret with Adam in the know and Lee looking widely suspicious is going to be hard.

With the fake pregnancy plot out of the way, the next major arc was finding out whether Lynette would live or die. Before I get to the answer, I have to admit to find the good amount of dedication to the woman's feud with a possum pretty interesting. It ended up being discussed in my Philosophy class and as metaphors went, it was pretty heavy handed.

Lynette's determination to beat the possum, despite overly sensitive Parker naming it wasn't the most subtle way of conveying to the audiences with how much she wanted to live. It did however make for a good scene with Bree when she wanted to get a gun to kill the possum but there was a better scene with Tom.

Tom's been mostly okay this season and while he couldn't at first see why Lynette was making a bigger than usual deal regarding the possum, he was understanding. Lynette nicely conveyed her distress of being infected and as silly as the possum thing could've been, no way did this reach the stupidity of toilet donuts and raw bacon.

Thankfully though Lynette would end having a good reason to celebrate because her doctor made the journey to her house to tell her that she got the all clear. Stella's reaction nicely summed up everything. Hey I'd feel like some alcohol in that situation and there's nothing better than having someone to celebrate with. That does mean that Stella is only minutes away from leaving and that kinda sucks. I've enjoyed having her around.

In all fairness it was pretty predictable that the writers would never kill Lynette off. Not only is Felicity Huffman the best actress on this show but Lynette is the most believable housewife of the bunch. Killing her off would just be stupidity. Still what's important is Huffman's performance and once again she knocks it out of the ball park. As a viewer, I am thrilled with the positive outcome though.

With Lynette's storyline ending on a positive note, the previous bliss that Susan and Mike have been enjoying finally gets its first black cloud. I don't mean to sound sadistic but it was only a matter of time before something bad started to happen and it's pretty much to do with them becoming parents.

Susan and Mike get the usual medical history questions to see if their baby could have any nasty surprises and Mike slips that his father is alive. To be honest I actually don't remember Mike telling Susan he was dead but Susan kicks up enough of a stink that it's safe to take her word at face value on this one.

Given that Mike has something of a murky history that for a while the writers have conveniently, this plot is a welcome bolt out of the blue. Mike might be the quintessential gentleman but unlike Derek Shepherd in Grey's Anatomy, at least he has a dark past to make him interesting enough.

Mike's father being in prison for murdering a bloke and feeling no remorse evokes curiosity from Susan. I get it from both sides really – Mike's desire to leave his past alone and Susan's need to open it up. Both of them happen to be right on that score. It also means that they are on opposite sides in regards to Nick. Susan's sole visit though with Nick is the most interesting. She's disgusted by his lack of remorse and he's confused by her judgmental streak. Susan thinks that her baby might grow up to be a sociopath and once again, I'm given reasons to care about the character. Although there's a chance that her baby might be another well adjusted kid, Susan does have the right to express some concerns.

Elsewhere Edie finds herself on the receiving end of being dumped by Carlos and when she tries to get him arrested, his mystery account is no more. To be honest, Edie should count herself grateful to be rid of Carlos and just move on to a bloke who doesn't have a sexual history or previous marriage to any of the other wives.

Instead Edie decides to enlist Victor into her little revenge scheme by showing him pictures of Carlos and Gabrielle together. Nice one, Edie! Pity you hadn't done that after Victor managed to delay Gabby from leaving his stupid ass. I suppose I should be happy that this tedious plot is coming to an end, which means that Victor can leave and the writers can start writing better stories for Edie.

As for Gabby and Carlos, I'm now starting to think again that they are both as bad as each other. Gabby was willing to stay with Victor for another thirteen months when Milton tried to bribe her and she gets annoyed when Carlos confesses about that damn account. Do the writers even want us to ship for them or are they deluded enough into thinking we will in spite of both characters bringing out negative traits in the other?

Also in "Now I Know, Don't Be Scared"

We got see a young Edie being scared of spiders, plastic frogs and the like. I like seeing younger stuff on the ladies.

Carlos: "I want to end this as friends"

    Edie: "I bet you do".

Did the writers happen to conveniently retcon Gabrielle? She knew about a secret bank account back in Season One.

Bree (re Andrew): "He's going as Cher this year"

Lee (to Bob): "Oh he's definitely invited".

Susan: "It wasn't an impression. You said the exact words 'my father is dead'"

    Mike: "It's complicated".

Susan's family have a history of webbed feet, arthritis and third nipples while Mike's are of epilepsy and high blood pressure.

Lynette (re the possum): "Don't give him a name. He's not gonna be around for longer"

Parker: "You're not gonna hurt him?"

Gabrielle: "And isn't there another election around that time?"

Milton: "My son will be governor. He could be President".

Gabrielle was pretty cowardly dumping Victor by a phone message. I wasn't surprised that Milton happened to overhear it.

    Edie: "This isn't over Carlos"

Carlos: "Actually it is and in case you haven't noticed, I won".

Susan (re killing the other guy): "And how did you?"

Nick: "With the tie. I thought it was a nice touch"

    Mike: "Well now you know".

Not many people attended the Halloween party I noticed. Like Katherine in the previous episode, Bob and Lee were trying to do some damage control with their neighbours here.

Gabrielle (to Carlos): "So you want me to sleep with you and take your money. If that were a job what would they call it?"

Lee: "You came as a self-important queen who lost all her power. Isn't that a bit on the nose?"

Katherine: "Lee is making jokes about queens. Isn't that ironic?"

This episode upped the hotness factor by having Tuc Watkins parade around exposing his chest as Aladdin. I demand more. We need at least one sex scene between him and Lee.

    Danielle: "He's so tiny"

Bree: "He looks like you did. Do you want to be alone with him? Do you want me to go? What should I do?"

    Danielle: "You should take him".

Susan (to Nick): "If you don't feel a tiny bit of remorse for the life you took, then no, I don't think you have soul".

Chronology: A few days since "Art Isn't Easy".

"Now I Know, Don't Be Scared" delivers on exposing secrets and igniting fears and it flows through all the plots quite well. The episode is somewhat more sombre than ones we've had this season so far but it's easily one of the best ever by the show and that's what matters.

The first scene sets the last scene of this episode which was a real kick-ass episode! It's all about fear and what it does to a person. Whether it's wondering if you'll ever find love again, or wondering if you've made a mistake or if someone is really truly happy. I wish Susan was at the party but her storyline was good as well and maternal instincts really shone through for her child and Lynette's cancer/possom fight was really emotional. I loved Danielle's costume - Bree. Her imitations were hilarious and her own maternal instincts were fighting to break her tough exterior. And I suppose a doctor (Adam) can tell when a woman isn't pregnant but that was still a shock! But what's in store for Gaby and Carlos and I'm pretty sure, in the sneak peek, the last shot of the boat is significant! And I'm also pretty sure the next episode is Episode 7. And what usually happens on the 7th episode of every season...?
  • funny. sad and enjoyable.

this episode seemed to be just your typical episode until the end. when lynette finally finds out her cancers gone and she walks outside and finds the possum she killed, she says sorry and bursts into tears... and so did i, i cried so much it was so moving. excellent, 10 out of 10.

also bree and gabrille as usual keep the laughs much higher than the other housewives... however edie begins to annoy me with her constantly seeming to ruin everything, i still love her and can't believe what the future has in store for her.

    anyway enjoy the episode!
  • Season 4, Episode 6.

Wow, there's a lot of intense episodes this season. This episode is definitely one of them. This is the show's first Halloween episode. Edie Britt's biggest fear comes true when Carlos walks out on their relationship. Susan finds Mike's father - who was supposedly dead. Danielle goes into labor right in the middle of the Halloween party. Haha, I loved that Danielle dressed up as a pregnant Bree. I also liked when Bree said that Danielle will be driving back to school tomorrow and Julie replied, "To Switzerland?" LMAO! Great episode, definitely. Very dramatic with Danielle, though, which I liked. The episode we've been waiting for since Danielle found out she was pregnant (13 episodes ago) is finally here! =] And it was certainly worth waiting for.
  • A brilliant, funny and emotional episode!

I loved this episode, it just shows what a great show desperate housewives is. So Firstly Danielle finally had her baby and the scenes coming up to that were at times hilarious. When Danielle arrived at the haloween party as Bree, I couldn't stop laughing. Her imitations were brilliant. Then Bree's cover up storys were funny yet believable in the context. So Adam knew all along about it being fake, how? The scene where Bree gives the baby to Danielle was sad yet moving. Lynette's beaten cancer, YES! The possum story was interesting and when Tom confronted her about it her explanation was great. Mike's dad as ruined there marriage, I just hope Mike proves his father wrong. Carlos was wrong to mess with Edie, she seems to have ruined everything as well. Can't wait for next week! This was a brilliant episode!

WOW....an amazing hallaween episode....this is a hallaween to remember....so much happened......

bree:finally, danielles baby is born...ive been wondering when she was gonna give birth, shes been pregnant for a long time...anyway...i liked that scene alot..especially when the scavo children looked at the window the moment adam took the baby out...classic.....i loved how danielle was dressed as her mom....but in reality its kinda the opposite...cause bree is pretending to be pregnant...so its bree who is copying danielle....anyway...andrew looked so funny and silly....orson looked funny to...

(how did adam find out that danielles the one who is really pregnant?,i dont get it)

it was so sad..when danielle was hesitant of holding the baby, cause she didnt want to get to close him..cause she wanted to let him stay with bree to go to college...and when she cried, heart breaking......but i think in future episodes, she will come back and want him back,by then bree would have gotten to close to him...and then i think everyone will find out its danielle's baby not bree's..

    ................................................

suzan:it was interesting to find out mikes father is still alive....and has no feelings...i mean how can he be so heart less....i didnt like him at all...i liked how suzan came behind mikes back...

    .................................................

lynette:when she was telling tom about the possum,

''that something(cancer),,has attacked their home ,and when that happens you dont just stand by,you fight it,and that it came in their lives uninvited and is trying to destroy them'' ,she was really reffering to her cancer...it was so sad.....she was so vunruble....but i was so happy in the end when the doctor said shes cured...but when she saw the possum dead she cried.....but its also a metaphor...the posum is history(dead) so is her cancer...

    ...................................................

gabby:i was glad that she told voctor she didnt want to be with him...but when his father came to bribe gabby to stay with him for 13 months and then leave to get the huge amount of money...how can gabby say no....that was before carlos told her he also had a huge amount of money...its classic of her to get mad from carlos becuase he didnt tell her about the money before....i hope she stays with carlos...and they get rid of victor....hes been around for too long...hes just causing trouble..

    .................................................

edie:that snake....i love her and hate her at the same time......but the look on victors face when he saw the pics of gabby and carlos making out...he was so angry..

    .....................................................

all in all,a classic hallaween episode.....that for sure will not be forgotten......
  • Awwww...... I was teary eyed throughout pretty much the entire episode..... what a great episode....

First, let me just say that everytime I think we have seen all Felicity Huffman has to offer, she wows us with something new. She is just an amazing actress, and I am so glad the writers keep challenging her. I loved the scene with the possum at the end when she found out she had beaten the cancer and saw the dead possum. Amazing! I am so glad Lynette has beaten it! I can't wait to see her hair growing back and all. But I really don't think we have seen the end of this. I am so very glad they got a good story line for Susan and Mike. A really good one. Poor Mike. I wonder if those meds he's taking, are anti-depressants. Susan was so right about the whole thing. I am really looking foward to what this is going to bring us. Gaby seriously needs to make up her mind about who she's gonna be with. So far, all she wants is money. I know we all need money, but seriously it just seems like she doesn't really love any of them and is going for whoever offers more money. It is passed time she grew up! I can't believe Edie went to Victor about the affair. She is so manipulative. I am glad Carlos moved the money so she can't touch it. And now last but definitely not least, Danielle and the baby! Oh, so touching!!!!! I knew she had a heart! I don't understand why she is leaving though. And it's not like her Bree is giving the baby up for adoption, she is keeping the baby, so Danielle will be able to watch him grow and be with him whenever she wants. I just don't get why she left. And how is it that Adam knows Bree's faking the pregnancy. I wanna know how he knows! Oh boy so much has happened I can't wait til the next episode!
  • Great episode with some brilliant scenes.

Great episode , Lynette with that possum was brilliant and danielle was superb in this episode. Bob and lee's big fancy halloween party was good and the outfits were hilarious . Adam telling bree he knew she was faking the pregnancy was funny aswell. Bree and danielle's scenes together wer very well written and when danielle was giving up the baby was really sad. Carlos was very funny when he was having a conversation with edie.. Lynettes storyline was good and her conversation with bree about the possum was great asking for the gun. Gabrielle was good in her few parts aswell. Same old susan !!
  • Probably the best episode so far!

    "Perfect"
This episode is amazing for several reasons, which is what makes it so incredible. In the past, we've seen episodes like "Bang," that focus mainly on one major event. The result is a superb episode, but where "Now I Know, Don't Be Scared" went right was that the major events / revelations included all the major characters.

Susan and Mike – Susan faces a moral crisis after discovering Mike's father is a killer, who seemingly doesn't feel any remorse. I felt bad for Mike when Susan was going on and on about how horrible his dad was; thankfully, she was set straight when Mike said that he was a good person who did an evil thing. And that was definitely made clear when Susan went back to the prison to speak with his dad.

Gabrielle, Carlos, Edie, and Victor – So apparently Gabrielle's quite the prostitute :P. Victor's father offering money was funny. But Gaby does have some sense – she called Carlos out for keeping the $10 million a secret when they were married. I hope Victor doesn't plan to order a hit on Carlos or something; as much as he has something coming for him, Victor and Edie are just as guilty.

Bree and Danielle – That was probably the funniest birthing scene on TV. Frankenstein's Monster delivering a boy? It doesn't get much better than that! And how amazing was Danielle's Halloween costume? That must have been so much fun to play! However, things took a turn, as Bree predicted they would. The scene where Danielle held her baby for the first time was so heartbreaking. That child will be pretty messed up when it finds out one day that his sister is actually his mother (and if he grows up on Wisteria Lane, you know he'll find out). But Danielle crying was just so sad; I hope she does play a part in the raising of her son.

(And the most hilarious part of the episode was Bree's extensive knowledge of guns and gun shops!!)

Lynette – She's cancer-free!! Yay! Her final scene, wow – talk about emotional. Opening up to the heavens; crying over the poor possum. Lynette's realized how precious every life is. There's no doubt that she will be very different from now on.

In the words of Kanye West, "that that don't kill me / can only make me stronger."
  • There is so much to be afraid of...

Lynette finds out about possum in her backyard and she is determined to kill it because it is ruining her beautiful garden. By the end of the night she is informed that she had beaten cancer but she managed to kill possum anyway (the heartbraking scene so fabulous when she says she is sorry).

Bree comes to the party but Danielle comes too dressed as Bree but her water broke and Danielle delivered a baby boy and Adam helped them deliver the baby while everyone was at Bob and Lee's Halloween party. Danielle goes away to college and Bree, Orson and Andrew stay with the baby. Also Scavo kids saw the delivery thorugh the window...

Gabrielle tells Victor that she is leaving him and Carlos does the same with Edie but Edie goes to authorities and tells them about Carlos' offshore bank account and everything is cleaned (so he used a guy to take them somewhere else so Edie can't blackmail him anymore)and when Victor tells Gabrielle that he will do anything she is starting to doubt...and Edie shows Victor the photographs and there will be hell to pay.

Susan finds out that Mike's father is alive and he is in prison for murder and he is doing life without parole. Susan wants to know if Nick has a soul because he is not showing a tiny bit of remorse over what he did. Amazing and stunning Halloween episode...One to remember for a long time.
  • The best Desperate Housewives episode ever!!!

    10
    "Perfect"
I didn't have high expectations for a Halloween-themed episode considering how miserable they usually are, but oh boy I was wrong!! This episode started off OKAY but then it became mindblowing, definitely perfect!

All of the housewives had wonderful storylines, Susan now has doubts about Mike being happy, also Mike is shown taking pills. Gabrielle is surprised by Victor's feelings towards her, he clears a whole month from his schedule to spend with Gabrielle after she confronts him about her feelings. Danielle gives birth to her baby at the Halloween party Bob & Lee are throwing and Orson is too drunk to deliver the baby so Bree asks for Adam's help, Danielle gives birth to a baby boy and she gives up the baby to Bree in one of the most emotional scenes ever. The best storyline of the entire episode belonged to Lynette, it begins with a possom invading Lynette's garden and then she puts her all of her energy into getting rid of it and the possom resembes her cancer and Lynette has two amazingly emotional scenes throughout the episode, especially the very last one, also Lynette finds out that she's beaten cancer. As for Edie, when she decides to report Carlos' off-shore account she finds out that he's moved it and so she gives Victor the photos she's taken of him & Gabrielle kissing...

I can't wait till next week's episode, I wonder what Victor will do... also I hope Katherine's mystery is further explored next episode, and maybe we can find out what Katherine's aunt wrote on that paper!
  • This halloween episode is hillarious, emotional, and exciting all at one time.

    9.2
    "Superb"
This episode was great, and I loved how they tied halloween into it. Some shows have trouble making a good halloween episode but I felt like desperate housewives did a perfect job. I loved the party and seeing how everyone dressed up. Andrew and Danielle's costumes where really funny. Danielle did a great job pretending to be Bree. It was so hillarious. Having her go into labor made this episode very exciting. I wasn't sure if she was going to be able to pull it off or not. It's interesting that someone in the neighborhood knows her secret. This storyline was also sentimental when Danielle had to decide if giving the baby away was the right thing to do. Lynette's storyline was also very good. It was funny but also emotional to see her fight her cancer in the only way she knew how. Susan's storyline was interesting, and it is good that her relationship with Mike isn't going perfect because it would start to get boring. With the Gabby and Carlos storyline I really wanted to see how it would work out. I loved her origonal reaction to him stealing the money but I didn't like how she left him over something so simple. I also didn't like how Victor wanted to make things work. I like it better when he is the jerk who just married her to get the votes. Overall this was a great episode.

    Some lines about the show:

Gaby doesnt know if she should leave Victor.

    Lynnete has a new enemy.

Bree becomes a mom, or a grandma :)

    Susan meets Mike's killer dad.

Eddie wants reveange because Carlos leave her.

    There's a big halloween party !!!

Danielle dressed as Bree was very funny.

Great scene the one when Danielle gives up her baby for good.

Victor declares his true love to Gaby, and now she doesnt know what to do !

Eddie tries to get Victor to "get rid" of Carlos.

Adorable the scene when Lynette finds out she is cured.

This was overall a very nice episode, dramatic but sweet, definetely one to remember.
  • Trick or Treat. The new residents of Wisteria Lane sure know how to throw a bash :) However, it seems like the residents are celebrating Halloween all year round--they never show their true colors.

LYNETTE is awaiting her results from a scan. The results will tell her wheter she has beaten cancer or not. But Lynette seems preoccupied with a possum that's been digging holes in her garden. Lynette is using the possum as a metaphor, telling Tom the 'possum' has invaded her life and she must do everything to stop it from runing her.

    --

SUSAN and Mike go to a genetic doctor, to find out how their baby will be genetically. During the meeting, Mike mentions his father is alive. However, Susan says when they were first dating, Mike said his father was dead. Turns out Mike's father killed a man because he lied his way into a promotion that Mike's father had been working hard for. Susan visits Mike's father Nick in jail, because she wants him to feel sorry for killing a human. She says she wants her baby to have a conscience and a soul, and have good moral genetics. During her visit, Nick says he doesn't regret killing the man but he regrets ruining Mike's life. He says Mike suffered sadness, and feels Mike will never be happy again. Even with Susan as his wife, and a baby on the way...

    --

BREE asks Danielle if she really wants to give up her baby; Danielle replies yes. Bree says when a mother holds a child, she feels love for her baby. This is how Bree felt about Danielle when Danielle was born. Danielle says she doesn't care about the baby, and she doesn't want to be like Bree. Bree tells Danielle she can't go to the Halloween party. Danielle shows up at the party dressed as "pregnant Bree" but her water breaks, and she can't get to the hospital...

    --

GABRIELLE leaves a phone message for Victor, breaking up with him. But Victor's father pays Gabby to stay with Victor. Carlos tells Gabby he has 10 million dollars on an off shore account, and wants Gabby to stay with him and he'll share the wealth. Who does Gabby pick?

All the things were perfect, and the complications were really a great net of secrets and discoveries. The danielle's costume was hilarious, and the imitation (Wonderful); the baby delivery and Lynette's kids running scared was the funniest part...LOL.

The final fragment of the episode was marvelous, Lynette in her backyard, relieved for her cure, but sad because of someone she had become, a depressed and obsessed woman, struggling to get her life back on track (Perfect, Tearjerker). So, yeah, the whole episode was fantastic and the storylines keep messing up with our heads, just to make us know that something big is coming along.

Definitely, a perfect trick-or-treating episode, full of candies, and the constant laughs, that Desperate Housewives always brings.
  • It's Halloween on Wisteria Lane! Edie attempts to keep Carlos from leaving her; Lynette confronts a possum destroying her garden; Gabby tries to break up with Victor, and Bree must contend with her daughter's impending birth.

There's a reason I started watching DH, and this is it, in what is easily one of the best episodes of this already great season. I think the writers went a little overboard with the whole Susan and her fear of having a child with a "murderous" gene, but I understand what they were trying to do. Also, certain characters (Katherine) barely had any screentime. Or maybe just one line. Ugh.

Where this episode worked best was in the Bree/Danielle storyline. I was really taken by Joy Lauren's performance here. Her scene with Marcia in the bedroom after the birth was unexpectedly touching. The other aspect that really worked for me was Lynette's storyline. Her scene at the end with the possum was quite moving.

I think they should have made the Halloween party a bit longer, as it was ripe for comedy opportunities, but what we were given was pretty fun. I loved seeing everyone dressed in silly costumes! (Bree and Orson looked the funniest!)

This episode was light on comedy, but heavy on emotion. And for that, I give this episode a big...well, since the "thumbs up" thing has already been used, I give it two margaritas up! ;)
  • Yet another great episode.

Tonight's episode was great as usual! I love the character of Victor's father- he is highly amusing and his insistence on Victor becoming govenor, and maybe eventually president is steadfast. Also with Gabby and Carlos, I loved the scene where Gabby found out that Carlos had all that money when they were married and hid it from her. When Gabby accused Carlos of basically wanting to make her his personal whore, I cracked up! i thought that was so sweet when Victor came and cleared a month in his schedulefor time with Gabby. I am so glad that Edie couldn't find the offshore account. Anyway Susan and Mike meeting Mike's dad was a good plot line. I especially liked the part where Susan wentback and asked him if he felt any remorse. I LOVED Bree and Danielle in this episode. When Danielle was in the window and the neighbor saw him and asked if that was Bree's daughter and she said that it was her son and that he was going as Cher, and he said that Daniel was then defenetly invited I laughed so hard. And when Danielle came dressed as Bree I once again cracked up. Her impersonation of Bree was so good. Also with Lynette, the possum and the cancer was really sad, especially as she basically started crying when she saw the possum was dead. Overall a great episode, I can't wait for next week's episode.

I am really liking this season of Desperate Housewives! I am very happy about this since last season was pretty much mediocre. My only complaint is the Edie storyline... I thought she was supposed to be a part time character? Why is she taking up so much of my time!? I really don't like this stuff with her and Carlos and I feel like its getting old. I also am oddly not a fan of Lynette. I want to like her because she is supposed to be a strong woman who is also a mother but for some reason she gets on my last nerve. I don't like the way she treats people I think. I think someone should try to change her up a bit because she is vvery annoying. I love the Gaby/Carlos storyline and also am loving Bree this season whereas before she was harder to take. I also love the new gay couple. I am a little sad that we didnt get more info this episode about Katherine's secret with Chicago and her daughter... Hopefully it will come up next week or during sweeps.
  • Fun, hilarious and emotion episode.

Halloween episode this week for our Housewives, and who better to throw the costume party than the new neighbors who are reaching out, Bob and Lee.

    Bree's Household

Danielle insists on going to the costume party, but Bree forbids her. But if you know Danielle, she isn't going to do anything that Bree says. So as not to expose their secrets, she decides to dress up as Bree, and the way she acted like Bree was hilarious.

I have no idea what has been going on with Andrew. His character isn't being moved around much, but what Bree made him do this episode was hilarious!

The final part of their story this episode was emotional. Danielle decides to let go of the baby, even if you can tell all so clear that she really wants to keep the baby, and you could see by her face that she really loves it. They didn't even name the baby yet.

    Lynette's Household

It has been announced everyone, and Lynette's battle with cancer is finally over. But before the doctor gave her the news, she went a little crazy first and killed a possum. I have no idea what the relevance of that possum was, but the way she was determined to take it down was hilarious.

    Susan's Household

We discover something about Mike. He's taking pills, but for what? I hope him and Susan aren't going to have a big fight, I just want these two to settle down because they are the most annoying couple when they fight.

Susan also discovers that Mike's father is still alive and she tries to find out details about him so as to make sure of the physical health of her baby, but after meeting Mike's father, the physical health of the baby is the last thing she needs to worry about.

    Gabrielle's Household

Her and Carlos' plan finally takes off, but when she discovers Carlos hiding money from her when they were married, she decides otherwise and Victor seems to be very convincing.

Meanwhile, Carlos double crosses Edie and she is left without any blackmail for Carlos. Though she does find a way to cause her own havoc.

Episode Quote (courtesy of Mary-Alice Young): There is much to be afraid of in this world. But one fear has nothing to do with gruesome masks or plastic spiders or life-like monsters. No, it's the thoughts in our heads that terrify us the most. What id she comes to regret her decision. What if he really is unhappy? What if the chance for love has passed forever. How do we conquer these terrifying thoughts? We start by reminding ourselves, what does not kill us, just makes us stronger.

Lynettes' metaphor for dealing with her cancer in the shape of a pesky possum. You could her husband getting the message after she told him about her ongoing battle and not being defeated

Bree's compassion for dealing with her daughter and the tough, but correct, decision to give up her baby. Danielle and Bree know that she is not ready to take of a child, with her being a child herself.

The cosume party was fabulously funny - from Andrew's Cher costume to Danielle's Bree (which she had all of the mannerisms and comments down perfectly). The kids shock seeing Frankenstein holding a baby. Lee with his continual attack on Katherine. How about Mike's dad? He stated that Mike has some deamons lurking. What's going to appear in later episodes. Also what were the pill for that he took in the truck? He didn't mention them to the doctor or Susan. An excellent episode that made an hour fly by all too quickly!!
  • Exactly why I watch, they all got issues, can't wait to see how they solve them.....

So Danille has her baby, does a great impression of Brie at the Halloween party, I wonder if their secret about the baby will leak and how???? I felt a little bad for the new baby boy because he will grow up thinking his grandmother is his mother and will never ever know his parents, I don't think he really would want to know but he should have that right to know and make that decision for hisself so I am hoping that this secret creeps back up on them and the father finds out somehow as for everyone else Victor knows about the affair, I wonder what he will do to Gabby now and if I was Carlos, Eddy would be somewhere missing because she will continue to try to destroy him so she must go I wonder if Carlos eventually gets Eddy back for all this drama she is causing but besides that this was a great episode.

This episode ended two relatively important sub-plots: the pregnancy and the cancer.

This was a pretty good episode, however, something felt missing. What happened to the Mayfair storyline? There hasn't been any development on this for two weeks now and I'm getting slightly frustrated. I really wanted some more insight and Dylan hasn't been here, you'd think she'd at least have a cameo at the party.

Bree's storyline has been amazingly well done, again. So much classic Bree, from saying that Danielle was Andrew dressing up as Cher gay icon, they should have done Madonna), an NRA moment, to a very touching moment after the baby was born. This was the first time that Danielle's had a good moment since "No One Is Alone" and upset about Bree forgetting about her birthday.

Lynette went slightly insane. I only realised the cancer metaphore with the possum after she called it an invading creature. I almost cried at the end that after she finds out that her cancer is gone and Lynette sees the dead possum and cries. Very emotional.

Susan had a rather normal plot, finding out Mike's dad is in prison. However, she really showed her strength when she owned him after talking about wanting the baby to have a consciousness.
