this was a great episode of desperate housewives and properly the best of this season so far i loved all the stuff with lynette and gaby i loved there conflict so juicy and i loved the women starting to be come wary of betty applewhite, the susna stuff was also good with mike and zach as was the bree stuff with andrew although andrew is pretty horrible to bree, bree isnt much nicer to andrew either but im looking forward to see where that conflict goes

  • Season 2, Episode 11.

Gabby kisses Tom as a joke, which infuriates Lynette. It was cute. I liked the little Lynette/Gabby strained friendship, but I hated how even after they made up, Lynette was still persistent. However, it is slightly understandable. I can't believe Lynette kissed Carlos! That was amazing! I like how things are weird between Susan and Mike, but I also like that she's trying to help Mike and Zack. The scene with Andrew and Justin the bed was HOT! Like whoa! I hate that Bree is homophobic, but it's a good storyline. I liked when Karl pinned Andrew against the wall. Carlos wanted to have an affair with Lynette! LMAO! Good episode!
  • "Well Paul is our friendly neighbourhood murderer!" - Lynette talking to the other ladies.

Wow! this is what DH is all about; scandal, misunderstandings and a dead body in a trunk.

Lynette and Gabby's quarell was well handled. because of Gabby's reputation she cannot be trusted ever again but Lynette couldn't see the funny side. Thus, the two fell out. though the bit where they made up was funny:

"Hi, Carlos let me in i hope its OK?" Lynette

"Actually i am really busy today" Gabby, still annoyed

"I just wanna say I'm sorry and i am a jerk" Lynette

"All done.." Gabby and then the scene cuts to them laughing. just goes to show power of friendship is strong.

Tom was funny too and its nice to see Edie socialising with the other ladies. Andrew is also evil and Bree is at the end of her tether. and the Applewhite Mystery hots up.

All in all my favourite episode of Season Two!!!

Finally, an episode from Season 2 that I can truly say "A perfect installment" about. The writing is almost reminicent of the original episodes of the show; AKA a flashback to "Sunday in the Park With George"; Not all comedy, some mystery, some drama, all Desperate Housewives.

While Susan and Bree dont have much going on in One More Kiss, Gabrielle and Lynette hit some well needed conflict, as do Paul Young and Mike Delphino; which leads up to the discovery of Monroe's dead body in the trunk of a car out front of the Applewhite's House.

Hey, dont blame the Applewhites. After all, everyone has a little dirty laundry.
  • This episode was basically all about kissing!!!

I loved this episode. My favorite part was when Gabi kisses tom and then Lynette confronts gabi about it but Gabi doesn\'t apologize for it so lynette kisses carlos. I love this show it is so awesome. Well I loved all of it but Lynette is my favorite character but I still like everyone else (Exspecially John) They need to make more episodes with him in it (With his shirt off) well I\'m just trying to take up space here so I have 17 more words to type. Well not anymore. I wonder how long this show will go for.
  • The Applewhites are in trouble

    "Perfect"
Wow, this episode had it all: jealousy, blackmail, fights, secrets, death...made for a really exciting hour of television.

Carl really grows on me..sure, he was awful in the first season, but he's improved in this season..loved his little "chat" with Andrew. Speaking of Andrew..that is one messed up kid. I can't support Bree's outrage about him being gay, but to blackmail his own mother..after all she's done for him in the past. If it weren't for her, he would be in jail right now for running over Mama Solis, for God's sake. Awful, little jerk.

The Applewhites really got in trouble this week with that hilarious death and the cover-up. I knew he would break through the staircase, it was foreshadowed a few times, but I was shocked when he shot himself...silly, but oh-so Desperate Housewives..loved it. And Betty was so right when she said that sometimes you can only laugh. It's true, sometimes we find ourselves in such desperate, downright crazy situations where everything goes wrong that can go wrong..and we can only laugh, because otherwise we'd go crazy.

Lynette is really jealous, that was established quite a few times..but this time I would have backed her up, like Bree. That kiss between Gaby and Tom went on way too long to be considered a harmless joke. So she went and gave Carlos an even longer and more passionate kiss...classic.

One more thing I really liked in this episode: the closing narration. Really touching, especially when Bree kissed Rex's picture..I choked up a little.

A classic episode and I truly can't wait to see how Betty's going to trick her way out of that one!
  • Best episode this season so far.

    9.8
    "Superb"
This episode marks the best one of this season, so far. It has got everything in it why I watch Desperate Housewives: murder, secrets, jealousy, and blackmail.

Lynette freaking out about a, supposedly, harmless kiss that Gaby gave Tom at a party and Gabrielle not understanding why Lynette is making such a big deal of it. The best scene was when Lynette kissed Carlos to show her what it feels like. And then, later on, Carlos asking Lynette if he could have his 'outstanding' affair with her. Hilarious!

Andrew blackmails Bree so she can't tell him what to do any more. Bree hiring Susan's ex Curt to give her legal advice and intimidate Andrew. Pretty cool, huh?

Then there was Susan, who wanted to help Mike establish a relationship to his son, Zach by secretly going bowling with him. But when Paul finds out he is not too amused!

And last but not least: The Applewhites. They're always good for a little scandal. A body appearing in the trunk of their car, how creepy! How did Edie put it: They're fishy!
  • Almost every character appears in this episode! It's great to watch!

I loved the fact that this episode featured ALL the characters in the show! Well, almost all. Everyone except John, Danielle and Mrs Tilman, who were mentioned, those who have died, ie. Mrs Huber, Rex and the recently departed George.

This is what I like in a show, where all the characters come into play and interact. I felt for the first time that I could feel the neighbourly ambience. Eg. Carl looking out for Bree when Andrew disrespects her, and Edie asking a stranger what is his business lurking in the neighbourhood, though little did she know that the stranger was here to kidnap Caleb.

I do hope to see more to come
  • A good new episode.

Bree is hosting a dinner party in her home with several friends and residents on the street. Tom is talking with the other housewives and their husbands about how he was a geek in high school, and Gabby tells them how she was a cheerleader. Tom said that Gabby never would have noticed him, and out of the blue, Gabby passionately kisses Tom which results in the laugher of everyone, except Lynette. Susan and Julie devise a plan to get Zach and Mike together, by inviting them both bowling. Lynette mentions how uncomfortable the kiss made her feel to Gabby, who really can't understand what the big deal is. Bree sees Andrew and Justin kiss in the street, and tells him that she is horrified, and what would happen if the neighbours saw. In the morning she goes to check on him, and finds Justin in bed with Andrew. She tells him to get up and get out of her house. Andrew comes downstairs, and tries to blackmail Bree, telling her that if Justin leaves, then he will inform the police that she killed George. The stranger trying to find Caleb from the previous episode, breaks into the Applewhite’s while they are out, and finds and unlocks Caleb in the basement, and tries to get him to leave. Caleb refuses to move. The man walks down the stairs, and falls through them to his death. Betty and Matthew arrive home and put the man in his car, but they end up locking his keys in the boot. Bree goes to see Karl, and gets his advice on Andrew's blackmail attempt. Bree calls Andrew into the room, and Karl explains that he can tell the police, it won't make any difference. The when Bree leaves the room, Karl grabs Andrew and pushes him into the wall, letting him know that if he starts any more trouble, he'll be after him. Paul finds out about Zach going bowling with Mike and goes to attack Mike. Mike attacks him back and Susan in shock, swerves off the road into the parked car, popping open the boot revealing the body. The housewives gather round in shock.

I think this episode was done really well . I think Mary-alices voice overs where really good especially at the end when she is saying how a kiss can mean different things and it was showing as well.

I also think this episode was funny because of the part when Carlos cam up to Lenette and asked basically is he can sleep with her.

When Gabby kisses Tom, Lynette has a problem, she feels her man is being taken away from her and when she learns of Gabby's affair she is even more concerned.

They manage to patch things up, but Carols is dragged in and ends up offering an affair to Lynnette, it is seen as a joke and not taken seriously but repercussions could come soon.

Bree is still fighting with Andrew over his boyfriend and more is learnt about the Applewhites.
  • Gabrielle kisses Tom and Lynette isn't happy with it!

I think this episode was kind of average, not bad or something but just not as fantastic as the other ones! What I did like was the end when they found the body in the back of the car that was just hillarious! I really liked it when they we're like: Ok now i'm worried!

But overall this was an OK episode!

Betty (to Matthew): “Now I’m worried”

Yeah and so you should be love, because thanks to your latest cover up gone awry and Edie, the other ladies are beginning to find you a tad suspicious and you know what, it’s about time. When our ladies aren’t snooping around, there are times when they can be rather slow on the uptake of things.

Although Betty isn’t an evil woman, Alfre Woodard consistently amps up the creepy factor whereas Mehcad Brooks’ Matthew is still the moralistic son. Matthew sympathised with Caleb this week, I must admit I’m finding myself increasingly sympathising with the guy too. He misses being with his mother and brother and although he really hates being locked in that basement, he hasn’t made any further attempts of getting out.

When the malevolent Monroe (the guy from the hospital last week) tried to kidnap Caleb, he wouldn’t leave the basement. Unfortunately for Monroe, neither does he when he falls through the Applewhites’ stairs and dies. Caleb’s little “I didn’t do it” stance while chomping on ice cream to both Betty and Matthew as they came home was nothing short of amusing.

Betty certainly has a wonderfully warped way of dealing with situations as she laughs when Matthew locks his keys in the trunk with a dead Monroe. Yeah, Betty, hilarious! She won’t be laughing soon in the next few weeks when one of the ladies is set to discover more about Caleb but which one?

Well, Susan did hear clanging noises from the Applewhites when they first moved into Wisteria Lane and Edie has had her suspicious of them since they bought their house sight unseen, moved in during the middle of the night and of course her earlier confrontation with Monroe also aroused suspicion. There’s also a shot of Bree becoming privy due to Matthew dating Danielle but as far as Lynette and Gabrielle go, I highly doubt it.

Besides Lynette and Gabrielle are far too focused on their marriages seeing as they are the only two who have them right now to even care about the Applewhites. In what seemed a rare moment in which plots intertwine, our opening sequence had the popular apologising to the geek when Gabrielle jokingly kissed Tom on the lips, the first of a good few shocks in this episode. Everyone could see the innocence in it, including Lynette but you know with Lynette that she has trouble letting go, forcing her and Gabrielle to clash the next day at the Scavo residence.

Although Tom is probably the sexiest husband on the street, Gabrielle isn’t attracted to him and I would like to think that she has enough decency and common sense to not sleep with one of her friend’s husbands. Watching Tom cite the ways certain women in the neighbourhood find him attractive was a hoot and a clever ploy to ease Lynette a bit but at the same it definitely triggered some Lynette’s insecurities with Tom. After all, their relationship was started on an affair and it’s easy to see why she would think adultery would be a threat to their marriage and although she behaved more grown up about things later, throwing in Gabrielle’s affair with John into her mate’s face was a little harsh too.

Of course the women made did make up and Lynette also evened the score by making out with Carlos in front of Gabrielle. Gabrielle must have a lot of patience when it comes to her mates because she only gave Tom a peck on the lips whereas Lynette was practically playing tonsil hockey with Carlos. Just before this priceless moment, Gabrielle had thought that the best way of repairing her marriage to Carlos was for him to go and have an affair. For a woman who openly expresses her selfishness on a near enough regular basis, I find this a hard pill to swallow.

Then Gabrielle makes it less unbelievable by then revealing that if Carlos does have an affair, he’ll then have to drop his sanctimonious attitude now that that Gabrielle/John affair is public knowledge. Carlos wasn’t sure at first and Lynette must be an excellent kisser as Carlos primes her up as a possible fling candidate. Watching him chat up Lynette was a little weird but this light hearted plot is such a joy to watch, who really cares?

Also quite riveting is the continued war between Bree and Andrew, which hits round 900 when she freaks out about catching him in bed with Justin. I know walking in on your son in a compromising position might be slightly embarrassing but for crying out woman, ditch the homophobia already. Probably the most steamiest in terms of guy on guy action seen on network TV (and compared to the public outrages of Brokeback Mountain and short lived NBC series The Book Of Daniel, even conservative US viewers didn’t complain), I know Bree is old fashioned and based loosely on Marc Cherry’s mother but this is the one trait I truly deplore with this character. Justin was rather apologetic and she wanted to call the police on him.

Not that I side with Andrew either as the little asshole attempts to blackmail her with the fact she allowed George to die. Although downright evil, Andrew was rather funny during the scene where he described how he would call the police on his own mother. I hate the guy but Shawn Pyfrom is a rather good young actor and his scenes with Marcia Cross are as always, a complicated delight to watch.

Of course Bree doesn’t respond to blackmail very well so she enlists lawyer Karl who puts Andrew in his place both legally and physically when he rough houses the little runt. Another new interaction, I have to admit there were some nice scenes with Bree and Karl, even some chemistry there too. Richard Burgi can play the tough guy well which makes sense as he has the likes of The Sentinel and 24 in his credentials and even Andrew looked scared of him too.

Elsewhere the seemingly good characterisation we’ve been getting with Susan continues as after a rather heartfelt and sincere apology from Zach, her and Julie devise an opportunity for Mike to spend time with his “could be” son through bowling. One of my favourite pastimes although it’s been a while since I last played it. I liked watching Mike and Zach bond, even if the former was struggling with not telling Zach about him. Also could a romantic reunion between Zach and Julie be back on? How would a recently level headed Susan react to that?

Sadly though Paul is back to his usual ways of being skeevy with home schooling Zach, lying to him and upon discovering the bowling incident scrapping with Mike in the street, forcing Susan and Julie to crash into Betty’s car and reveal Monroe’s body. Paul’s “I didn’t do it” reaction was just as effective as Caleb’s. On the serious note, I do have to ask if the writers want us to hate Paul because they’re not exactly endearing him like they could be. For everyone’s sake wouldn’t it be better if Mike and Paul put their differences aside and told Zach the truth about his lineage before things escalate into further violence?

    Also in “One More Kiss”

Housewives of the week: Bree, Susan, Lynette, Gabrielle, Edie, Karl and Tom were at Bree’s house party with guests they were glad to see, didn’t want to see and who were too drunk, according to Mary Alice of course.

Gabrielle (to Tom): “On behalf of all the cheerleaders in the world, forgive us”.

Is it really surprising that Gaby was a cheerleader in high school? Not really but I was surprised by Tom’s marching band past.

Bree (re Justin): “What if the neighbours saw you?”

Andrew: “Well I hoped they would think that I landed a hottie”.

Andrew made a comment about Bree’s drinking and him not judging her. If you re-watch certain episodes from Season One and recent episodes, then you’ll realise that the little weasel is onto something.

Edie (to Monroe): “You cross me and I’ll be your worst nightmare. I’m a dangerous woman and you don’t want to mess with me”.

How could Edie have found out that Monroe wasn’t a realtor if he didn’t even give her a name to go on in the first place? Also I didn’t catch the name that appeared on his mobile phone, did anybody?

Bree: “You wouldn’t let the police arrest your own mother?”

Andrew: “Hey we all gotta cut the apron strings at some point”.

Tom (re Penny): “Usually she throws up on immediate family”

    Gabrielle: “I’m honoured”.

Who exactly told Bree about Gabrielle and John? I doubt Susan would do it and I doubt Helen Rowland would to, so who else could’ve blabbed?

Carlos (to Gabrielle): “People don’t think you’re harmless. They think you’re a predator”.

    Caleb: “Momma’s gonna be mad”

    Monroe: “Momma’s love me”.

Gabrielle suggested Carlos having an affair with an old college girlfriend, a call girl and Sister Mary Bernard. She would kill if he did it with the latter.

Karl: “Do you understand what I’m saying?”

    Andrew: “Yeah”.

Karl thinks that Bree is a “peach” and Andrew a “turd”. Safe to say he has sense.

Carlos (to Lynette): “That was one hell of a kiss you gave me. You can’t fake chemistry like that”.

No Danielle, Porter, Preston or Parker in this episode. No chronological reference either too.

Matthew: “Are you worried yet? Because I am”

Betty: “Not yet, just be patient, see what happens”.

    Standout music: “Rhinestone Cowboy”

What a superb episode! A little outside the usual format but how cool was it for most characters who haven’t spend time with each other Lynette/Carlos, Gabrielle/Tom and Bree/Karl to interact? This needs to be done a little more frequently in my opinion. “One More Kiss” might just be the best episode of the season, even beating previous favourite “Colour And Light”. This is a bonafide classic episode.

  • Finally, Desperate Housewives at it's best again.

    "Perfect"
A kiss is just a kiss right? Wrong.

While at one of Bree's dinner parties Tom mentions to the housewives that while in high school he never would have been kissed by a cheerleader like Gabrielle. Gabrielle makes a little joke saying that on behalf of all cheerleaders she will kiss Tom, and passionatley does so. Everyone takes this kiss well, except Lynette.

Bree is also upset about another kiss after she spots her son Andrew kissing his boyfriend Justin. When she catches the two in bed together she threatens to call the police but Andrew says he will do the same and tell them she let George Williams die. Bree hires Karl to sort out Andrew and tell him to treat his mother with respect as he does not have a legal case.

Susan tries to get Mike and Zach together by inviting them both to bowling, without telling Paul who doesn't want Mike near Zach. Everything goes well after Zach apoligizes to Susan & Julie for how he has previously acted and Mike agrees to go despite his recent break-up with Susan.

Lynette's curiousity grows and she turns to the others to ask if she's overeacting. Bree tells Lynette she may have reason to worry as Gabrielle had a previous affair with her gardener and Lynette is even more worried wehn she finds Gabrielle alone in her home with Tom. Lynette offendes Gabrielle who storms off.

To get even with eachother Lynette kisses Carlos to show Gabrielle how it feels. The two decide to forgive and forget.

Elsewhere the Applewhites have an unexpected vistor when a mesteryious man shows up outside their home. Edie worries that he may be helping the Applewhites move home and tell him she only just sold them their house and he will have to go through her before selling the property.

But he is no realtor, he's there to take Caleb and while Betty and her son are out he breaks into their home and sneaks down to Caleb's cell. Caleb refuses to come with him and as the man runs to grab Caleb he falls through the Applewhite's wooden stairs and dies. When Betty discovers this, she and her son stick the man's body in his car locking the keys in the trunk with him.

Finally after discovering that Zach went bowling with Susan, Julie and Mike, Paul attacks Mike. Susan is shocked as she is watching this from her car and she crashes into a local neighbour. Her car swerves into the Applewhite's mesterious visitor's, making the boot fly open, revealing the body.

Everyone is suspicious of Paul but Edie belives the Applewhite's are reponsible after finding out the man was not a realtor. The question of who he is remains to be answered...

After the rest of the season this episode comes like fresh air.... of this season I think it's the best one yet!

All the Lynette/Gaby story was very good and that Carlos/Lynette was fantastic. Zach cming back also brings something to show...! And Bree's son... that's an all diferent story... I hope he doensn't turn all quite now...!

The Applewhites.... maybe something is coming from there after all!

Susan for me continues to be the bad part of the show... there is no point in her storyline :s
  • A Kiss is Just a Kiss-- Or Is It Not? Written by Joey Murphy and John Pardee Directed by Wendey Stanzler

"Your mom is she a peach or what?"--Karl

Well, one episode into 2006 and I'm happy to say I like where the plots are going. Marc Cherry and the writers have managed once again to amaze me with a fabulously well written and directed episode. It was very refreshing to have a director from such another awesome show: Grey's Anatomy. Wendey Stanzler really did do a good job! Kudos!

Anyway, I really thought this episode's plot at first glance was so stupid. Gabrielle kisses Tom, Lynette gets mad-- so f**king what? I could've got mad too (unless I was Tom!) I think the storyline was very well plotted and only brought the housewives more together when something else more serious then a kiss happens.

Everyone's feeling a little kissy on Wisteria Lane and some are more willing to show it. At a dinner party which Bree holds for the street, Tom manages to get a big wet one from Gabrielle after he goes on about how he had such the biggest crushes on cheerleaders and they really did not acknowledge due to the fact that he was labeled a "band geek". Gabby manages to make him feel a little bit better by french-kissing him. Lynette sees this and flips. After the guests leave and its just the wives in the house, Lynette casually asks Gabby why she did it. Gabby tells Lynette to relax and that it was just a harmless kiss. Lynette feels different since any other wife would probably be hurt including Gabby. Bree defends Lynette and Susan does not know anything since she was in the other room but I would think she would side with Lynette seeing that Karl ran away with her secretary and is now with Edie.

Susan then spots Zach throwing out the garbage. Susan freaks and goes to tell Mike who passes the word that he is forbidden to be near Zach. Susan then tries to get the two together in a non obvious sort of way. Plan A: Bowling. Susan, Zach and Julie think its a great idea but Mike is a little hesitant. Mike agrees and they all have a good time. Mike also manages to bond with Zach over tips on how to be an OK bowler. Zach feels happy to be in a "family" once again but goes back home to Paul who shows less love.

Bree meanwhile is having difficulty once again with Andrew. Andrew really is becoming really annoying but that is how he is supposed to make us feel. He once again disrespects his mother by kissing Justin in full display. Bree is shocked by this and goes to remedy herself with a little wine. Bree tells Andrew to stop being gay with Justin or she'll send him back to Camp Hennessy. Andrew tells her to stop being such a hypocrite and not to judge since he does not question her sudden alcohol addiction. The following morning, Andrew is seen once again with Justin--this time in his bed. Bree demands that Justin leaves or she will call the police. Andrew then threatens to tell the police that she murdered George. Bree goes to see an attorney--Karl Mayer who agrees to represent if Andrew does anything to hurt her. Bree then explains to Andrew that he does not have any say since just watching someone commit suicide is not a crime. Andrew says that he will lie. Bree then interrupts and says if he does that she will sue. Bree then leaves the room which causes Karl to push Andrew against the wall when he gets out of line. He warns him that if disrespects his mother one more time he will come and straighten him out himself. Bree watches this from another room with a glass of wine in hand.

Lynette manages to find out from Bree that Gabrielle had an affair with John Rowland and not to trust Gabrielle with Tom since she may still be possessing old habits. Lynette then sees Gabrielle helping Tom but she was actually helping him with bags and the baby since he had a lot of groceries. Lynette then tells Gabby she knows about the affair and that is why she doesn't trust her. Gabby scoffs at this and leave. When she tells Carlos about this he gives her a "I told you so" and Gabby agrees to let Carlos have an affair of his own to get even. Carlos refuses and continues what he was doing. Lynette then comes over and agrees to bury the hatchet. They reconcile over smoothies which causes Lynette to get even by kissing Carlos on the lips. Gabby already sees what Lynette gone through and Lynette finally comes to the conclusion that they are even. The following day, Carlos asks Lynette if she would want to have an affair. Lynette says that's not a possibility causing Carlos to tell her "anytime" and he then proceeds to go home.

Curt Monroe arrives on Wisteria Lane in pursuit of Caleb and manages to break into the Applewhite house when Matthew and Betty leave. He frees Caleb but makes sure he does not go anywhere. While going back upstairs for something he falls through the wooden stair and his gun fires off. Curt is left for dead and Betty and Matthew soon find him. They agree to dispose of the body when they find on his cell phone the name Foster on his missed calls. They put his body in the trunk but because Matthew left the keys in the car they must leave the car parked on the street.

This all leads up to this moment: Paul discovers the scorecard from Zach's bowling game with Mike, Susan and Julie. Paul then goes over to Mike's where he suckerpunches him and leaves. Mike then punches him back and a fight pursues. Susan witnesses this while driving and then loses control of her car and crashes into a parked car. Mike and Paul immeadiately stop fighting and soon the neighbors gather. Mrs. Fromme screams when they find a dead body in the damaged car. The police are notified and begin interrogating the neighbors. While the housewives blame Paul, Edie believes that it may be the work of the mysterious Applewhites. They all smile back as Betty knows that she is in hot water.

After this, all is quiet on the street as Zach sits on his stairs. Julie then comes home from a friend's house and sees Zach sitting. She goes up to him and gives him a kiss on the cheek. Soon after a montage of kisses follows which include: Karl and Edie kissing, Alberta Fromme kissing her cat, Carlos and Gabby kissing, Lynette and Tom kissing, Bree kissing Dead Rex's picture, Bree catching Justin and Andrew kiss which leads Mary Alice to sum up the reasons people kiss: for the companionship and love of another "human being". As Zach and Julie finish their cheek kiss, Paul watches from the window.

"One More Kiss" was really well done and made a lot of people realize that their "show" was back. Honestly I thought the show was back on track in "I Wish I Could Forget You" but its all good. This along with "Impossible" and "One Wonderful Day" are definitely must sees for any DH fan.
  • This was a step up for all storylines.

    "Perfect"
Susan had a better storyline by trying to give Mike a relationship with his son, Zach. Which of course doesn't end well. Unless you think a fist fight between Mike and Paul, which causes a watching Susan drive her car into a parked car, whose trunk pops open revealing the body the Applewhite's earlier stuffed in.

Okay, the Applewhite's didn't kill the man, he was going to let her son escape his 'cell', but he ends up falling through the old, termite-y stairs and that kills him. Betty doesn't appear worried about this finding until the housewives give her a friendly wave after just discussing her as the culprit.

Then to top that off, we have an awesome-yet-timid 'cat fight' between Lynette and Gabby because Gabby kissed Tom. Lynette finally caves in by taking 99 percent of the blame for her taking things overboard, and Gabby doesn't see her one percent of kissing Tom. So Lynette has a very steamy kiss with Carlos, which gets to Gabby who takes her part of the blame. Then to put icing on the cake, Carlos comes to see Gabby and in so many words says Gabby said he could have an affair and he wants it with Lynette. Ohmigod!!! I knew he was going to say it, I was just hoping he wouldn't!

THEN, the biggest storyline of the night, Bree catches Andrew kissing his guy-friend, she forbids it, then the following morning she catches them both naked in Andrew's bed. Bree threatens the good old camp, Andrew threatens the George suicide thing, so Bree gets a lawyer out of Karl, Susan's ex. Karl explains to Andrew that Bree will never see a court room, even he lies about the situation. So Andrew says Bree's friends may want to know, and Karl has Bree leave the room. Karl then THROWS Andrew up against a wall basically saying Andrew's father wouldn't have let him get away with it, and that he won't either. God I loved that.

I go back and forth liking the Andrew-character, I guess I just want him to be a good kid (not that being gay is bad). But if he isn't gay then he shouldn't be pretending. And secondly, I will hate the writer(s) if they say Andrew isn't gay, no (straight) man would have ever gone as far as Andrew has just to get his mother back. But this is Desperate Housewives, the show where anything can make sense, even if there are holes in the story.

This show just get's better and better I have not seen such a well written series ever.

Every episode manages, to some extent shock me or have me at the edge of my seat wanting more!

How are these writers coming up with this stuff, I enjoy watching lost etc, but this show just takes the cake by far.

    Exceptional :)

I think this episode was pretty well written and has drawn a lot of us back in from the straying plotlines and filler episodes which they ended 2005 with.

Actually, I have to comment on the Andrew/Bree dialogue that is going on. I recently bought Season 1 of Desperate Housewives on DVD and it is like crack. I am addicted to it. I sit down and watch episode after episode, so it\\\'s interesting to reflect on characters now.

Having watched most of the first season, I can\\\'t blame Andrew alone for being evil. That kind of evil doesn\\\'t happen - it\\\'s learned and inherited from an early age. He learns his nastiness from his mother. So I really enjoy the two of them duking it out.
  • The Applewhite are in the game! Zach really returns, Carlos is the siexiest of the serie :D

I didn't like this season but actually this episode was wonderful.

Lynette is finally a good character and Gabi is marvelous in her role. "The sexiest wife who likes to be spicy with the others husbands!" especially with Tom ^^

I also really enjoyed the plot with Mike, Susan (great her biological father wasn't!) Zach and Julie. I hope that soon everybody knows the truth about everything and especially about the Applewhite. Who is Foster? we just finally understand that Caleb is Betty's son. That's good to know!

There is also a true romance between Zach and Julie, that will be fun if Mike and Susan make the same way.

I am especially waiting for Bree, To Drink or not to drink that is the question! (I hope that won't be like in the oc with Kirsten, berk)

To put it in a nutshell: a really good one.
  • Great episode, and so quotable... lol

Finally, the Housewives are back! There has been a while this season where I have been watching out of habit, instead of because I truly was interested, and in fact there was at least one episode where I skipped it entirely, and just relied on the summary and reviews on this site to fill me in on what happened.

Kudos to Lynette for saying to Gaby that she didn't like her kissing Tom - it can be a very hard thing to tell your friends sometimes when something really bothers you. Tom's ego certainly got a boost, though, and it was really funny to listen to the ranting.

I might have to pout for a little while - I really like Michael Ironside, have for years, and the thought of him as an asthmatic bounty hunter had me in stitches. He really wasn't around long enough - would have liked him to stick around for a bit longer.

Andrew is a little creep - if anyone is a homicidal maniac, or at least sociopathic, it would be him, not Bree. Having Bree hire Karl as her lawyer to stop Andrew from blackmail was really funny. This kid is exactly what Karl calls him - "a nasty little turd."

Definitely back in form, and I can't wait for next weeks episode.

  • Totally back to form!

This episode was probably the best of the season so far. It's exactly why I watch Desperate Housewives in the first place. Funny, quick witted, exciting, and mysterious. Thank god the show is back to it's roots. Finally, now the season can really kick off!

What is up with the Applewhites? What will happen with Carlos and Lynette? Bree knocks back a few everynight? And Andrew was right, he did land quite the hottie there.

Hopefully all these questions will be answered and hopefully we see some more action from all of the lovely ladies of that super mysterious Westeria Lane.
  • A perfect way for Desperate Housewives to come back from the holidays.

I loved this episode - it was great in every way, shape, and form. With this episode, the show starts to become more like the first season, with equal parts drama and comedy, whereas the last few episodes have seemed to be mostly comedy.

At a party, Gaby kisses Tom as a joke, which makes Lynette jealous and puts a rift in her friendship with Gaby, especially after she finds out about her affair with John. Susan and Julie invite Mike and Zach bowling so the two can begin to bond. Andrew tries to blackmail Bree, but she hires Carl as her lawyer and he ends up threatening Andrew.

And lastly, the Applewhites find themselves in a bind when a man tries to kidnap Caleb and ends up dying in their home.

Like I said earlier, this episode was fantastic. The fight between Lynette and Gaby was funny, but it was great to see that they always seem to work through their issues and remain friends despite their differences.

I'm finally starting to like Zach, now that he doesn't seem to be a complete psycho anymore, and I hope that he and Mike can form a relationship. Mike and Susan are getting along now, which is good. But for some reason I found Bree's storyline to be the most interesting, as usual. Andrew is a great "bad guy" for the show, and he's fun to watch, but in the end I hope Bree ends up doing something to put him in his place for good.
  • A fine return to form for DH, after meandering aimlessly in the earlier stages of the second series. This is the episode that Desperate Housewives, and likewise for fans, have been waiting for, one that will glue this TV show as landmark on television bro

A fine return to form for DH, after meandering aimlessly in the earlier stages of the second series. This is the episode that Desperate Housewives, and likewise for fans, have been waiting for, one that will glue this TV show as landmark on television broadcasting today.

Marc Cherry shows that he hasnt lost faith in his clever little show, by clearing the slate and acknowledging all the little secrets that the audience already know, now comes and begins the FUN! With all the dirty laundry outta way (ie. the identity of the person locked in the basement, zac's return and new motifs, release of mike and paul's mutual aggression, less of susan's annoying whining and whinging, gabby finally gets confronted with her antics and comes to truly regretting the repercussions they incur, and bree finally gettin the chance of seeing her son in boy-on-boy action! hotness!) the series will now be able to pursue new plots and twist, and FINALLY keep all us fans guessing! Thnx Marc for smartly giving us a episode that has made the plot progress so dramatically in a such a short space of tiem.

i was practically begging for more! much appreciation, keep up the good work!

    cant wait till next week!
  • With the focus on the meaning of a kiss, the episode explored a lot of relationships on Wisteria Lane, and moves the mysterious Applewhites to the front burner.

The theme of kissing, the meaning behind a kiss, was a fun theme throughout. The storylines were at exactly the right place for this kind of exploration and I loved that the storylines for two of the 'Wives were so beautifully entangled, and there was some nice resolution in the Zack plot.

Weirdly enough, Bree's storyline engaged me the least, but only because it was so self-contained. Bree is concerned about Andrew mocking her values. Andrew may be going a little over the top, but I think he's doing so honestly. I'm intrigued by where Danielle must be, but I think they've lost an opportunity. When Bree takes Andrew breakfast in bed by way of apology (or maybe just entre) and finds Andrew in bed with Justin (I think that's Justin -- he looked different to me, but I haven't seen the show in weeks) it would've been fun for her to cross the hall into Danielle's room and find her in bed with Mathew.

As it was, the story took a good hard look at an issue that has been exhaustively discussed on this forum and dismissed it. Andrew has nothing over Bree, and no lie he tells will gain him an advantage. Karl pretty much spells that out to him, and I'm ticked off enough at Andrew that I was pleased when Karl threatened to beat him up (I think we're all too uncomfortably aware of how much Andrew might enjoy a spanking from him).

So Bree just has to deal with the fact that her son likes guys. I don't believe she's going to make good on her threat to send him to Camp Kiddie Prison until he's 18.

The closing scene with her kissing Rex's photo was touching.

Susan and Julie (and wow, is Andrea Bowen turning into a little hottie or what?) were a little too quickly OK with Zack, but I think this is where they needed for that story to go. Along with the meaning of a kiss, this show dealt with the issue of overreacting, and I think Susan may have been exploring her initial vibes concerning this troubled teenage boy who her daughter likes and, she has to admit, has always treated her daughter well.

Zack saying that it was nice to feel like he was part of a family again was interesting. Because if Susan were to hook up with Mike, Zack and Julie would essentially be steps. Is that weird for anyone else?

The bowling subplot was fun, and it was cool to see Mike interacting with Zack as a dad. Paul getting all upset with Mike and confronting him about it set in motion one of the most wonderfully Wisterial fender-benders I think I've seen.

I'm trying to think of a way for Betty to deal with that -- a dead bounty hunter in her trunk.

    "Um ... it was self-inflicted."

    "Termites."

"Um ... how'd that get in there?"

    "What? He's the spare."

Or just drag her piano out into the middle of the street and play "TA-DAAAAH!"

I didn't understand why Betty and Matthew left Caleb alone, but I guess it was plot-driven. They didn't come back with groceries or anything.

She said Matthew was spending too much time on the computer. Maybe he's PMing with Danielle?

Paul homeschooling Zack edges the dead bounty hunter out in terms of creep factor. But Edie confronting him, bouncing to the tune of "Rhinestone Cowboy," was absolutely delicious.

Her making out with Karl at the end threw me a little. I thought Karl was pursuing Susan again. I guess he must've given up when it looked like Susan and Mike were reconnecting.

Main story for me this week was Lynette finding out about Gaby.

Now, I'm not certain why Bree knows -- it means Susan probably told her at one point and I'd forgotten -- but it's a nice exploration of how the 'Wives see each other. I'm guessing Lynette would've been perfectly happy to just let the whole incident go -- although I'm guessing kissage with a tuba player is almost superhuman -- but the realization that Gabi is predatory ...

Well, that's only half of it. It's entirely possible that Gabi's never discussed her unhappiness with her friends, and that John was a symptom of a deeper weakness in the marriage. But her subsequent re-commitment to Carlos seemed genuine. It's just that her kiss with Tom went on just long enough to qualify as "too long."

Whatever it took for Tom to deliver his incredibly funny line that all the women want him, well ...

It's possible someone at the Vandekamps was checking Tom out -- if not Bree, maybe Andrew? =D

Lynette was wonderful in this eppy, tho. Her burst of speed into her driveway upon her realization that Tom was there with Gabi was excellent, and her insecurities -- "What's going on at home when I'm out all day?" and the shaky trust she's experiencing with some of her best friends -- was bound up really well with that kiss with Carlos.

Well, it certainly demonstrated how an "innocent" little kiss can get uncomfortable.

I could not believe Carlos went back to her afterwards and all but handed her a W-2 and a job application for having an affair. Even if he's trying to make a rather uncomfortable point with Gabi, how he could ignore Tom's feelings in all of this was just about ... upsetting.

Altogether, tho, Lynette and Tom still seem to have the strongest marriage, and it was nice to focus some of the attention off the kids and the job for once.

I was reasonably pleased with this eppy. I was happy to see a new episode and thought it was a good study of life in this sleepy little suburb.
  • This episode reminded me of how much I love this show. Kudos for ABC in showing the hot boy on boy action. Andrew has landed himself a hottie! Bree is on her way to becoming an acolholic for sure!

This episode was one of my favorites from the second season of "Desperate Housewives." It had the entire cast participating in the craziness of Wisteria Lane. I think that Bree is on her way to becoming an alcoholic for sure. With kids like Danielle and Andrew. Do you blame her? I would like to give kudos to ABC for not editing the hot boy on boy action between Andrew and Justin. He's right...he has landed himself a hottie. I'm also curious to see the new story that is unfolding between the men - Creepy Paul, Mike and weird disfunctional Zach/Dana. I just hope that Marc Cherry brings back Felicia in the near future. She is missed in the neighborhood.

The DH writers decided to move things forward. An episode that moves along the freakin' storylines. The ending was great. Everything was great! The Carlos/ Lynette kiss was interesting. Gaby telling Carlos to have an affair was awesome. Susan's ex putting that little brat Andrew in his place was wonderful. Paul and Mike...I can go on and on. Just a great overall ep.
  • Finally the episode we've been waiting for. Thank you Marc Cherry for listening to the fans and bringing the housewives back together. The show is always at its best when they have a secret to uncover! Now let's hope the show continues on this path! Welco

Okay so on the face of it, the Gabrielle kissing Tom thing seemed a bit stupid but it did help with Lynette finding out about the affair but more importantly, Gabrielle urging Carlos to cheat on her...a decision we all know is going to bite her on the ass soon. And it was nice to see Lynette and Tom get romantic at the end (although I was under the impression Lynette's increased workload prevented her from doing parties and such)

As always, Marcia Cross was great as Bree hitting the edge, this time over Andrew. First seeming him in bed with a guy which was bad enough but then her explosion over the blackmail. But once more, Andrew underestimated his mother and it was nice to see that bite him at the end. Still, Bree better watch her back.

Intriguing how the Zach/Mike/Susan story works with Zach the only one who doesn't know the truth and trying to understand why Mike and Susan are being so nice to him now. I do look forward to the eruption when he finds out.

And we finally see a major advance of the Applewhite story. Surprised they killed off MIchael Ironside so fast but the twist of him in Paul's trunk was quite nice. And how ironic is it that Edie was the one who figured it was the Applewhites? I can't wait to see the confrontation and how Betty will try to get out of this one. All complaints over this season being a letdown should end now as the show is back on top and as good as ever.
