Mary Alice informs us that a crime wave hit Wisteria Lane on a Tuesday afternoon. This is because Carlos and Gabrielle were seeing each other, and when Edie showed up at Gaby's house, Carlos left out the back and tried to get home as quickly as possible, knocking over things in his neighbor's yards and stealing a Scavo twin' skateboard in order to arrive faster.
Lynette kicks Tom out of her chemotherapy sessions because he started to let her win at playing cards all the time. Susan, Gabrielle and Bree are talking about Katherine and about how Julie said Dylan wasn't the same girl. Katherine meets with the girls and tells them they should throw a lunch party for Lynette. They all agree, and Bree starts organizing the event, saying that Katherine can bring the salad, and she will bring her special lemon merengue pie. Katherine says she wants to bring dessert, but Bree insists she always brings dessert.
At the lunch party, Lynette says she needs a new therapy partner, and Bree, Katherine and Susan all agree to be with her during the sessions. Gabrielle doesn't offer herself to be with Lynette, which upsets her. The women taste the pie that Bree supposedly brought, and they say it's the best pie Bree ever made. Bree tastes the pie and realizes it isn't her. Katherine confesses she made a pie and hid Bree's in the refrigerator.
Lynette meets with Gabrielle and asks her why she wasn't willing to spend time with her during the chemotherapy sessions. Gabrielle says it's because she thought that that was pretty much covered by the other women. Lynette tells her she is the one she really wants there because Gaby is the most fun. Gabrielle reluctantly accepts.
At a chemotherapy session, Gabrielle keeps making excuses to leave the room. Lynette finally confronts her about it, upset that Gaby doesn't wanna be with her. Gabrielle finally tells her why: her father died from cancer when she was five. Everyday, Gabrielle would visit him and smile, because her mother would tell her not to cry, so that she wouldn't upset her father. The day he died, Gaby kept smiling as he faded away, afraid that he was still seeing her. But Gabrielle tells Lynette that she can't fake a smile with her in this condition, and she starts to cry as she tells her this. The two hug.
Bree tries to make a pie as good as Katherine's, and, in a desperate attempt, she gives Katherine her mince meat pie recipe, hoping she will share with her her secret ingredient. But Katherine refuses to share, and pisses Bree off by saying the mince meat pie recipe comes from a cookbook, even after Bree had told her her grandmother invented that recipe. Meanwhile, Dylan returns home and passes by Mrs. McCluskey's house. She tells Dylan that her father would drop her off so that Karen could take care of her for a while. Dylan is surprised, because she thought her father left her mother when she was a baby. After Katherine and Dylan leave to go get Adam, Bree enters Katherine's house, trying to steal her recipe. But the Mayfair family arrives, and Bree overhears their conversation: Dylan asks questions about her father, and when she realizes that her mother had been lying to her her whole life, she calls Katherine a monster. Katherine slaps her, and Dylan goes upstairs. Katherine tells Adam they're gonna have to come up with better lies.
Julie aks her mother if she can go to a party, and Susan says yes. But Mike tells her that the parties at that house are always very wild and that Julie probably shouldn't go. Susan is torn between her husband and her daughter, and tells Julie that she shouldn't go. Susan's breasts have augmentated due to her pregnancy. Susan secretly tells Julie that she can go to the party after all. But then Susan learns from Mike that he drove by the party house and that things were out of control there. He thinks the police will show up anytime. Susan worries and tells Mike she's gonna get some whipped cream from the store, and goes to the party to bring Julie and Dylan back home. Mike discovers that Julie went to the party because Susan told her to, and both Julie and Mike put it on Susan. They tell her that they expect her not to agree with one of them every once in a while, but that she has to make a choice and stick to it. Susan says she will, and she and Mike resume their romantic evening.
Edie's birthday is coming up, and she buys herself a car using Carlos' money. Carlos says she can't buy such expensive gifts or else the neighbors will catch on that something is wrong. So Edie has an idea: at her birthday party, she plans to get engaged to Carlos, saying that if they get married, when and if someone catches on to his illegal bank account, they can't make her testify against him. So they become engaged. Later, Carlos meets with a man, Al Kaminsky, and pays him to take care of Edie.
