    • This special spliced together two scenes revealing an apparent goof. The police question Paul Young about a toy chest his wife bought twelve years ago. This is the toy chest, assumably, that they stuffed Deirdre's body into. In the next scene, Deirdre's father is telling Mike Delfino that Deirdre's bones have been found, and she's been dead for fifteen years. So either the Youngs kept her body around for three years before disposing of it, or Deirdre's father is exaggerating how long she has been dead.
    • When the police question Paul about the toy chest he said, "do you remember a toy chest your wife bought?" When Mike has the police file with the list of people who have bought the chest, it is under the name of Paul Young.

    ADD NOTES
    • The significance of the title "Sorting Out the Dirty Laundry" is that it refers to the 2004-2005 campaign slogan for the series, "Everyone has a little dirty laundry".
    • Brenda Strong was originally supposed to narrate this special episode, but ABC made a last-minute switch decision to use actor Tracy Fraim instead. Fraim would also wind up guest starring in the season 6 episode "Chromolume #7" as Ana Solis' photographer.
    • This is the first special recap episode of the series, and the first episode not to be narrated by series regular Brenda Strong. Strong would narrate all following special episodes, excluding "Time to Come Clean", which featured mostly interviews with the crew of the show, and sneak peeks of the third season.
