loved this episode of desperate housewives, the stuff with bree and lynette was really enjoyable i thought lynette catching wind of bree's alcoholism was great with her lying the bottles outside bree's house, the gaby stuff was ok not great but i enjoyed seeing her mum, the susan stuff was also enjoyable but nothing great overall loved this episode

  • Bree's breakdown is beginning to show and You can't help feeling sorry for her.

    7.7
    "Good"
Bree has to be one of my favourites in this series and Marcia Cross\'s performance is superb. With her husband murdered by her psychotic pharmacist who commited suicide and with two rather obnoxious children, Bree is beginning to spiral down into an emotional wreck, surpressing the emotions with alcohol.
Her alcoholism has been subtlely introduced over the past few weeks, with many scenes including a prop of a glass in her hand.
I just wanted to reach out to Bree in this episode and help her.
Gabrielle's storyline this week was a little bit silly and I wasn't entirely convinced by the actress playing her mother.
Edie's excitement over the assumed proposal was delightful yet painful to watch.
All together, not the most outstanding episode to date, but certainly an important one.moreless

A drunken Bree stumbles home and falls asleep on the lawn. Mrs McClusky tries to help her, and goes inside to tell Andrew. He looks at Bree and laughs, then turns on the sprinklers. Gabrielle and Carlos learn that she is most likely unable to conceive a child again because of complications caused from her recent accident. Susan and Karl marry so that she can get her health insurance for her operation, unbeknownst to Edie, who finds the ring and a prenuptial agreement and thinks Karl is going to propose to her. Gabrielle's mother comes to visit in the middle of her and Carlos' baby problems, and offers to be their surrogate. Gabrielle sees it as a way for her to stay in their lives, and she refuses. It is revealed that Gabby was sexually assaulted by her step father when she was fifteen, and her mother refused to believe her, thinking she was just jealous. Carlos then turns her away, and comforts his wife. Tom asks Mrs McClusky to baby-sit, much to Lynnette's displeasure, so she gets Bree instead. While looking after the kids, Bree stats drinking, and soon falls asleep. The boys get together and take baby Penny and end up miles away in a salon. Lynnette and Tom get a call and they go and pick their kids up. They arrive home to find a frantic Bree, who has awoken and had no idea where the children were. Lynnette asks her about it, and Bree lets her believe the boys just ran off. Later, while Lynnette is talking to Mrs McClusky, she reveals the incident that happened on the lawn. Lynette confronts Bree, who is shocked by her accusation and refuses to talk to her. Bree goes inside, and Lynnette goes through her trash and takes out all the wine bottles, lining them up on her doorstep with a note saying 'Do you think you have a problem?'.moreless
  • Bree gets drunk and punished for that while Gabrielle has to deal with her mother who\'s suggesting to carry the baby for her. Susan gets in trouble when she needs her old weddingring while Lynette needs an relyable babysitter and chooses Bree.moreless

The plotline of Edie and Susan is just hilarious, how can anyone make up this stuf? It is so funny and so great that only Desperate Housewives can be responsable for that. Bree who has an drinking problem isn\'t that great eventhough the rest of the episode is. Funny that she had to lie and that Lynette believed her. I found it very disturbing that the kids weren\'t getting mad! The love between Gabrielle and Carlos is growing, just the way is should! They are perfect for each other. Evenso, Thank You So Much isn\'t an excentric episode. It has the same quality as any other Desperate Housewive-episode; great plot-outlines, funny situations and good acting. Just the way I like it..

  • TRIVIA (7)

    ADD TRIVIA
    • This is a Valentine's Day episode.

    • This is the first time we see Gabrielle's mother.

    • The last shot of Karl at the restaurant (when he was looking strangely at Edie), the woman who was sitting in a table behind him, clearly turns around and looks at the camera.

    • When Gabrielle sees Carlos through the window with a woman, then goes upstairs to find out that it's her mother, after she says "Oh…hi…mom" she looks straight at the camera.

    • Goof: When Mrs. McCluskey is telling Andrew that Bree is asleep on the lawn, you can clearly see that the door to the control of the sprinkler system is open, however when Andrew walks over to it, it is now closed and he opens it.

    • Goof: Carlos helps his mother-in-law with her zipper. In the next shot we can see that the zipper isn't fully zipped. When the shot changes again, the zipper is closed again.

    • Goof: In the scene when Gabrielle's mother has just come out of a shower when Gabby comes home and has her hair wrapped in a towel, when she takes the towel off, her hair is dry.

  • QUOTES (9)

    ADD QUOTES
    • Bree: Well, I didn't wanna come here because I was afraid it would drudge up memories of my husband. This was our place. Rex passed away recently. He was, um, murdered by our pharmacist. Tony: Wow. I hope you changed pharmacists. Bree: I didn't have to. He committed suicide.

    • Bree: For god sakes, it was an honest mistake. I thought I could have just a little bit of wine with dinner, but, apparently, my body couldn't handle it. Fine! If it makes everybody happy, I will just suffer through my sneezing fits and my hives on my own. There. Is that better? Andrew: So basically you would rather drink than to not have allergies?

    • Mary Alice: Susan Mayer had always believed the punishment should fit the crime. She first came to this conclusion when she discovered her husband Karl had been unfaithful. Since Karl had destroyed the love she had given him, Susan felt it was only appropriate she destroy the things he loved in return one by one. But now, three years after their divorce, Susan was reunited with Karl once again as partners in a crime of their own. Yes, Susan Mayer believed the punishment should fit the crime. But for that matter, so did Karl.

    • Gabrielle: Don't be so suicidal, we can always adopt. Carlos: I wanted to have a child of our own, you know that. Gabrielle: What does it matter whose DNA it is, the diapers are still going to smell the same regardless.

    • Lucia: I left Charles. Gabrielle: What? He was worth like six million dollars! Lucia: Money is not everything, Gabrielle. Gabrielle: For some people, but we're talking about you now, Mother.

    • Bree: Tony, how many more arias is he going to sing? Tony: Five. Bree: Well, in that case, why don't you bring me another bottle of the Pinot Grigio? (pauses as waiter hits a particularly sour note) And please hurry...

    • Carlos: There was a lot of stuff that Gabby went through when she was younger. A lot of stuff that you don't know about. And I think that if you went to her and asked her about it, then the two of you could finally get passed it. Lucia: What stuff are you talking about, Carlos? Carlos (deep breath): Your second husband Alejandro. When Gabby was 15 he assaulted her; sexually. Lucia: Is that what she told you? Carlos: Look, I know it comes as a shock for you to be hearing it from me. Lucia:Carlos, please, I am aware they had sex. But it was Gabrielle who seduced him.
Carlos: Excuse me? Lucia: She was always jealous of me. You don't know how many times I caught her wearing my shoes, trying on my jewelery. And I'd scream at her to leave my things alone, but no, she wanted whatever I had. Then one night she set her sights on Alejandro. Believe me, no one got raped. Carlos: Lucia, she was only 15! Lucia: You know, a lot of men have left me over the years, and I never knew the reason, but when Alejandro left, I knew exactly why it happened. Gabrielle made him fall in love with her. Took me so many years to forgive her.

    • Mary Alice (narrating): Now and then, we all need a little help. (Shot of Lynette taking out a quantity of wine bottles from Bree's garbage) So we ask for small favors.(Shot of a justice filling out a marriage license) But it's always best to be wary of those who eagerly come to our rescue (The couple is Karl and Susan, who are getting married. Karl kisses his bride) Because even the smallest of favors (Shot of Tom asking Karen McCluskey to babysit the kids) carries a pricetag (Mrs. McCluskey comments on her rain gutters, and Tom looks at them in dread) Yes, everyone has an agenda (Shot of Gabrielle's mother on the phone, offering to stay with an aunt who is having an operation) Whether they admit it or not. And in those rare instances where there is no ulterior motive (Shot of Bree exiting her house) We are so taken aback that we may fail to recongnize the truth (Bree notices her porch is littered with wine bottles. One has a note inside which reads "Do you still think you don't have a problem"?) That a loving friend has just done us an enormous favor (Bree looks across the street to Lynette, who is cleaning her yard. The two ladies look at each other, and Lynette returns to her house)

    • (Tom has asked Mrs. McCluskey to babysit the kids much to Lynette's chagrin) Lynette: We will find someone. Someone who does not remember where they were when Lincoln was shot!
