A drunken Bree stumbles home and falls asleep on the lawn. Mrs McClusky tries to help her, and goes inside to tell Andrew. He looks at Bree and laughs, then turns on the sprinklers. Gabrielle and Carlos learn that she is most likely unable to conceive a child again because of complications caused from her recent accident. Susan and Karl marry so that she can get her health insurance for her operation, unbeknownst to Edie, who finds the ring and a prenuptial agreement and thinks Karl is going to propose to her. Gabrielle's mother comes to visit in the middle of her and Carlos' baby problems, and offers to be their surrogate. Gabrielle sees it as a way for her to stay in their lives, and she refuses. It is revealed that Gabby was sexually assaulted by her step father when she was fifteen, and her mother refused to believe her, thinking she was just jealous. Carlos then turns her away, and comforts his wife. Tom asks Mrs McClusky to baby-sit, much to Lynnette's displeasure, so she gets Bree instead. While looking after the kids, Bree stats drinking, and soon falls asleep. The boys get together and take baby Penny and end up miles away in a salon. Lynnette and Tom get a call and they go and pick their kids up. They arrive home to find a frantic Bree, who has awoken and had no idea where the children were. Lynnette asks her about it, and Bree lets her believe the boys just ran off. Later, while Lynnette is talking to Mrs McClusky, she reveals the incident that happened on the lawn. Lynette confronts Bree, who is shocked by her accusation and refuses to talk to her. Bree goes inside, and Lynnette goes through her trash and takes out all the wine bottles, lining them up on her doorstep with a note saying 'Do you think you have a problem?'.
