While Susan is busy inviting her friends to her annual charades party, Bree is busy telling them about what she overheard at the Mayfairs' house. Bree, Lynette and Gabrielle plan to go to the party after all, despite their initial hesitation, in order to get Katherine to spill her secrets over some wine. They all agree to go, and Susan also invites Katherine.
Meanwhile, before the party, Susan asks for the number of Bree's gynaecologist, but because she doesn't want Susan to know the truth about her fake pregnancy, Bree gives her a random phone number and address she picked up on the phone book. Bree learns that at the convent, Danielle fell while rollerskating, and that there are concerns about the baby. Susan goes to see Bree's supposed gynaecologist, and realizes that that probably isn't the place she usually goes to, for there is a cigarette machine in the waiting room, dead fish in dirty water in the acquarium, and prostitutes go there to get clean urine. Besides, the gynaecologist apparently took pictures of Susan's privates with his cell phone camera.
Lynette never feels like eating, despite Stella's attempts to make her eat. Stella offers to give her some marijuana to help her. Lynette refuses, but Stella buys marijuana from Andrew Van De Kamp anyway, and prepares some brownies with the drugs inside. She asks Parker to give them to his mother, and tell her he made them himself. Parker does so, and Lynette begins feeling much more energized and entertained. Stella is proud of it.
Edie wants everyone to know that she is getting married to Carlos, and she plans to tell people about it at the charades party. But Carlos tells her not to, that it is Susan and Mike's party and they don't want to make it all about them. But Edie still wears the engagement ring, without him knowing, and then they head to the party. Gabrielle and Victor go to the party as well, and Victor is proud to know that the wife of his possible opponent was caught shoplifting, and that compromises his opponent's entrance in the governor's mansion.
At Susan's party, Susan is angry at Bree and wants to talk with her later. The girls try to get Katherine to drink more wine. Edie shows up, and Bree notices the engagement ring. Edie tells the girls to keep it quiet because her fiancée (Carlos) wanted to wait to make a proper announcement. Gabrielle is enfuriated, and ends her affair with Carlos. Then, at the party, she starts flirting with Adam, which angers Carlos and Katherine, but Victor doesn't even notice. Edie tells Katherine that she shouldn't be mad at Adam, because Gabrielle does have a certain history (referring to her affair with John Rowland). During the games, Lynette shows up and is acting really weird due to all the marjuana brownies she consumed. Stella shows up worrying about Lynette and tells Tom the truth. The two try to get the brownies Lynette brought off of everyone's hands. When Gabrielle starts flirting with Adam again, Katherine confronts her and tells her that he is not her teenage gardener. Victor is surprised by this. Gabrielle tells everyone that Bree saw Katherine slap her daughter over some lie. Katherine informs everyone present that Dylan's father did the worst possible thing a father could do to her daughter. Everyone becomes uncomfortable, and Katherine leaves. After the party, Susan wants to talk to Bree, but she leaves, angry. Bree intends to visit Danielle and bring her the DVD player she asked for. But then they receive a call to let them know that the baby is fine.
Afterwards, Susan and Bree both have cake sitting on the porch and talking about their babies. Bree tells her that there were complications with her baby and that she didn't want Susan to know until she was certain of what was going on. But she assures her friend that the baby is fine now.
During the party, Julie and Dylan had stayed together at Dylan's house, studying. The two talk about Dylan's memories or lack thereof, and they investigate a locked room in their house where Katherine kept all of Dylan's old stuff. Dylan doesn't remember anything. Katherine shows up, and Julie leaves. Katherine tells her daughter she doesn't want her hanging out with Julie anymore.
Gabrielle talks to Victor about John Rowland. He is busy trying to keep it hidden from public exposure. If it gets out, his campaign could be ruined. Gabrielle then talks to Carlos about how jealous he was when she started flirting with Adam, and now she knows who truly loves her. They restart their affair. Later, Victor talks with Carlos about the gardener. Victor asks Carlos how could he not kill the guy. After all, that's what he would do, if his wife had cheated on him. Victor leads Carlos to believe that if Gabrielle cheated, he would have the guy killed, and no one would ever know because he's the mayor. Carlos grows concerned.
Lynette confronts her mother over what she did. Stella says she was trying to help, but Lynette reassures her she doesn't need that kind of help. Lynette still thinks Stella was a bad mother because of her drug and alcohol abuses, but Stella surprises her daughter by telling her things she remembers about Lynette's young years.
Adam tells Katherine that people are gonna think the worst about Dylan's father, but Katherine wants them to think exactly that, because that makes them feel uncomfortable and uncomfortable people don't ask questions. Katherine is preparing the formerly locked room to let aunt Lillian stay in it. After Adam leaves, Katherine pulls away the carpet and there is a large gash on the floor. Katherine starts crying as she looks at the gash.
