Susan and Mike are trying to find an appropriate name for their baby son. Susan despises Mike's ideas, so they look for names in the newspaper. They overhear someone calling Dr. Conner, and they decide to name their son Conner Delfino. Later, while Susan is playing with Maynard, Mike enters the room and tells his wife that his grandfather died. He wants to name their son after him, and Susan agrees to name him James. Mike then reminds her that James is his paternal grandfather, and that his maternal grandfather's name is Maynard. Susan is horrified to have to name her son Maynard, but she promised Mike she would. When her friends come to visit, and they ask if they had finally named the baby, Susan tells them his name, and they agree it is awful too, and that Susan should do something about it. Susan tries to change his name without Mike knowing, and succeds after a while. When they are preparing to go, a nurse comes in with a wheelchair filled with balloons with the words "Bon voyage, Conner!" in it. Susan tries to get rid of the balloons, telling the nurse Mike was molested by a clown as a child. But Mike comes out of the bathroom before Susan can pop all the balloons, and sees the name "Conner". Susan comes clean, and Mike tells her what his grandfather did to him: he helped opening a school, and after Mike's father was arrested, Maynard took him and his mother and took care of them. Mike didn't want just a name for their son, but also someone for him to live up to. Susan decides to name her son Maynard. She then asks Mike if he thinks their son will be worth it, and Mike tells her that's up to them. At their house, Susan paints a mural with the name "Maynard" in the baby's room.

Tom asks if she is ready to tell that to the police, the CPS and Dr. Dolan, to which Kayla replies that she is. Then she asks if she can stay there, but Tom says she can't, because what she did is awful and he can't trust her anymore. Kayla says if she can't stay then she'll keep lying to everyone. Tom then grabs his cell phone and asks Dr. Dolan, who was on the other side, if he heard everything. Kayla was busted. The next day, Lynette is out of jail and Kayla is sent to live with her maternal grandparents. She tries to apologize while she is driven away. Lynette looks heartbroken but Tom doesn't fall for it.
