  • Another tight episode with some great setting up for the climax of the season.

It doesn't matter if I am in a bad mood during the evening, I always come away from Desperate Housewives feeling a little bit better.

Paul's supposed 'murder' in the opening scene was a true shock, but I am pleased to see he didn't get killed, despite me saying for weeks "I wish he'd get his comeuppance!"

I am also pleased to see they are working out Mike's plot a little better because he has been meandering about his house loading his Ute for weeks now not doing much at all.

Bree's storyline is once again getting me gripped. Her children are actually devil's spawn and they make me furious - I loved it when she smashed the bottle to get Andrew's attention.

Poor Susan, will anything go right for her? Frankly, I don't want to see her get it on with the doctor, whom I think is rather bland compared to Mike.

Gabrielle, as with many episodes this season, gets some of the best one-liners, especially in regards to the teen pregnancies.

All in all a good episode.
  • i finally feel that our housewives are back to their great form from last year.

i love that bree is pretending to be something that she really is! andrew should have know better than to screw with his mum; she will always win out. she is an amazing character, a lot of thought has clearly gone into her & andrew's relationship for this season.

i can't wait for the tension to break in lynette & tom's marriage. something has to snap sooner or later!

i love the way the writers have brought helen into the gabby/carlos storyline. genius!

and to end, the look on felicia's face when she saw that paul wasn't dead; priceless! just makes you wonder what she'll do next....
  • Susan has her surgery and reveals a little to much and Bree does something that causes her to rethink about her sons behaviour after he gets a bruise and tell his his mother it was her doing when she was drunk!!

This episode was funny but serious Bree drinking made her rethink many things when her son makes her regrett her alchol. And it made me very sorry for her because her son is tryuly making her believe she is doing all of these horrible things.Even though its her sons boyfriend doing the punching.

And when gabby goes to try and adobt you see deep down she really wants a baby and goes to any lenght to get one it warms up the episode.

Susan goes and announces shes not in love with the doc just as she goes into surgery with him doing the surgery and then we see the nurse go out crying because she is besorted with him.Verrrry crazy episode and hilarious i wasnt meant to stay up watching this ep (to late) but i did and had to stop myself from laughing to loud so i wouldn't wake up everyone!!
  • Carlos and Gabrielle decide to adopt, but the process comes to be a lot more difficult than either had expected. Meanwhile, a showdown between Bree and her son Andrew. Lastly, Tom is having more difficulty at the job when having to take orders from his bo

This was another nice episode of DH, not boring for a second!

Carlos and Gabrielle can, after making some pictures with lynettes kids to make them look good, forget adoption, when they run into Johns mom at the adoptionagency.

They decide to do things different..

Susan has her operation but when docter Ron says he loes her while she is on the operation table she says: I love Mike. Also he finds out she is married to Carl, so it doesn't look good for Susan

Tom can't handle Lynette being his boss, and starts to act really childish, like that she even wants to be on top when they are trying to have sex, which was really funny actually =D

Well eventually Tom takes matters into his own hands and deals with his problem, in his own very weird way..

And last; Andrew and Bree get in a huge fight over Andrews savingfunds. Andrew hires an aturny, and Bree attends to AA-meetings.

I liked this episode very much. But I did feel srry voor Dr. ROn when he sad to her he that he loves her and she sad I love Mike. And I liked dr. ROn zo much so I hope Susan can find a good explanation for this and make up with dr. ROn. I did think it was funny that after Susan was bring asleep. I really loved watching this episode.
  • Top Of The Game Written by Bruce Zimmerman Directed by Randy Zisk

    9.0
    "Superb"
Lynette: “You gotta love that thunderbolt”

    Susan: “That's not helping”

The notion of power and stability is back again (not that it ever leaves long enough to be really missed) as our ladies attempt to take control of their lives or in one case let someone else do the controlling.

When it comes to control, Lynette is a woman on top and it’s a position she clearly relishes. If she and Tom have an argument, she has to have the last word. At work she has no qualms with crushing her spouse’s sales pitch and even during sex; she likes to be the one initiating all the moves. In other words, quite a woman! She’s pretty, smart and manages to be tough without being a **** but as much I like all the above in Lynette, a part of me does feel bad for Tom.

A lot of the qualities that Lynette has are paramount as to why he married her but like many relationships; it can be unhealthy if there is an unequal dynamic for too long. I’m sure there are probably a few viewers who saw this episode and thought Tom’s frustration of his wife’s “take charge” attitude might have been a tad sexist but if you ask me, I think Doug Savant did a great job of conveying Tom’s fear of not having control of his own life and his scenes with Felicity Huffman (except the dinner one which looked petty) went quite the way to clarify that.

Like some people, Tom appears to be the kind of person who needs to be pushed in order for him to take the lead. It doesn’t seem to come as natural for him as it does for Lynette and even Lynette has alluded to that at times. Although Tom may be the slightest bit threatened by his wife’s independence, I don’t think it’s enough to vilify the man. Also you got to love him taking control when he got Lynette to submit to him in the elevator in one incredibly steamy scene. Even Lynette appeared impressed by her husband’s seduction here.

Assertiveness is definitely a quality we see in all the women and no-one has it more than Bree, especially when it comes to salvaging her increasingly destroyed world. Her attempts of convincing her friends she doesn’t have a drink problem are pitiful and once again, she plays into Andrew’s hands by refusing him a car and slapping him when he calls her a “mean, old drunk”. Good move there, Bree.

Then to prove he almost is Satan, Andrew decides to wreak revenge on his mother by getting Justin to punch him, so he file for legal emancipation, access his trust fund while accusing her of beating him. I’m wondering if this is the truly horrible thing that we’re supposed to be writing letters of complaints to Marc Cherry because if it isn’t, then how much lower does Andrew have to stoop.

A part of me wonders why Bree doesn’t just give Andrew his trust fund, kick him and then watch him crawl back when the money runs out instead of trying to hold on to a child that’s willing to pretend she beats him in order to get what he wants.

All praise to Shawn Pyfrom for effectively playing Andrew but trying to like the guy is just bordering on the impossible but Pyfrom’s performance even out shadowed Marcia Cross’, it was that good. There’s an absolute killer scene worthy of Six Feet Under where Bree vows not to give on Andrew, yet comes very close to getting violent with him but as much as I hate Andrew, it’s a pity that he’s right about Bree’s inability to give up alcohol as even AA doesn’t help.

Another person who doesn’t believe in quits is Gabrielle as her and Carlos’ quest to obtain a child has all the usual challenges and even their bad attempts of pretending to be God parents for the Scavo kids doesn’t do them any good. Things are made even more difficult when Helen Rowland gets her sweet revenge on Gabrielle by bad mouthing her and Carlos to every adoption agency in Fairview, resulting in the Solis’ to take illegal action in order to get a child. Yeah because that usually works so well you guys.

In also equally underhanded measures, Paul Young’s days are certainly getting numbered and this episode begins with him being falsely arrested by Detective Sullivan (I seriously hate that guy) and getting the most spectacular beating of his life thanks to both Noah and Felicia’s meddling.

Speaking of Felicia, she certainly didn’t waste time moving back to Martha’s house and boy; she is determined to stir things even more. The first thing she does is try to visit Zach and when Paul returns, she is spectacularly annoyed that he isn’t dead. Paul pretty much deduced her involvement in his little beating and is probably working up his own little revenge campaign.

Mike proves to be a decent bloke by doing his best to help Paul but Zach volunteers to meet Noah and then dismisses Mike as his father when he asks his embittered grandfather to stop harassing Paul. Mike looked visibly hurt during that exchange but in fairness what did he expect?

Meanwhile in the most boring of events, Susan finally has her spleen surgery and when Karl isn’t relentlessly making fun of Dr Ron, we have incompetent Nurse Heisel discover Susan and Karl’s little arrangement. Also to prove that Susan doesn’t really love Ron, she blurts out Mike’s name while under anaesthesia in a truly embarrassing to watch performance from Teri Hatcher. The only that really salvages this plot is Ron’s hilarious reaction in a dull and unimaginative plot.

Also in “There Is No Other Way”

Husband of the week: Flashbacks showed that Paul is a good investor when it comes to Velcro shoes, 3 dollar cups of coffee, bottled water and even election results in Brazil. It was also great to see Mary Alice and a young Zach onscreen again.

Gabrielle (re Bree): “Did you smell the alcohol on her breath?”

    Susan: “I sure did”.

Andrew: “It’s not even noon and you’re on your third glass of wine”

Bree: “On second thoughts, the walk to school will do you good”.

Bree’s weekly routine was pretty interesting with her cleaning on Tuesday, paying bills on Wednesday and laundry on Thursday. She should make Andrew and Danielle help her around the house though.

Parker (re meatloaf): “It’s a little salty”

    Lynette: “Just eat it”.

Helen (to Rhoda): “Mrs Solis would hire my son to garden and then she would rape him”.

Judging from her hysteria, it’s safe to assume that Nurse Heisel has a crush on Dr Ron. The revelation about her not being a qualified nurse failed to shock though.

    Lynette: “We’re gonna be late”

Tom: “Yeah, we are gonna be late”.

Zach: “I’m not hugging you, even if you are my Grandfather”

    Noah: “Hugging isn’t my thing”.

No Julie, Edie, Danielle or the Applewhites this week.

Dr Ron (re Susan): “Let’s cut this **** open”.

Andrew: “This is as good as it gets”

Bree: “If I believed that, I’d shoot the both of us”.

No Chronological reference in this episode.

This was pretty amazing to be honest. The second episode in a row not to feature the Applewhites and to be penned by a new staff writer, in this case David Zimmerman, “There Is No Other Way” addressed a lot of deep seated issues and tried to make a lot of headway in advancing things too with a reasonable amount of success. We need more episodes like this.

    Rating: 9 out of 10.

  • Desperate Housewives returns with an episode that DOESN'T suck. New writer Zimmerman steps in-and does an ok job.

    8.9
    "Great"
Wow. After two terrible episodes (Silly People, and Thank You So Much) Desperate Housewives finally picks up again, but some annoying flaws still remain. The Applewhite's were not in this episode, so that was somewhat of a dissapointment to me. Edie had no screen time. However, the housewives finally had an interaction, even though it was extremely cut short, and we get to see more of the loose ends of Season One together. With that being said, I must say that I was impressed with most of the episode, how ever I feel as if they're holding out on an actual mystery. The Applewhite's do not seem to have that "creepy" presence and with an impossibly large cast (They have what, 18 regulars?) they cannot keep up with all of the dozens of storylines. Skipping the Applewhite's was a terrible mistake, and I hope that they do not do that again. Edie also needs to make an apperance, and lately, where is Danielle? Other than that, great episode guys, keep it up!
  • It's The Susan Loves Mike Loves Karl Likes Dr. Ron Show Written by Bruce Zimmerman Directed by Randy Zisk

"Why are you always falling in love with skanks, you are a beautiful man"--Nurse Ruth Ann Hisel

16 episodes into the second season and things are moving quite quickly. The only criticism I have is that usually there is a serial storyline that carries the episodes. These last two seem like they have nothing to do with the overall season's "mystery" but its still pretty good. I think what is carrying the show once again is Bree's overall excellent storyline. But I think the wandering spleen is getting tiresome and the Lynette's work scene is still going on. Gabrielle's storyline definitely shows promise though.

Andrew asks Bree for a car and she refuses to give him one due to his recent behavior and because she does not want to dig into his trust fund. When he calls her a mean old drunk, she slaps him and tells him to back off. To make matters seem much worse, Andrew gets still boyfriend Justin to beat his face in to make it look like Bree is abusive. Andrew then calls a lawyer and wants to be emancipated. Now if this was the case for my family, the only emancipation would be to your room after a slap on the back of your head by my father. So Andrew's lucky his dad is dead because hell hath no fury like the angry father.

Gabrielle and Carlos want to adopt but of course run into problems. After pretending to be the Scavo boys' godparents and pose in a bunch of cute but totally obvious pictures they run into Helen Rowland who humiliates them by telling the manager that Gabrielle would rape her 17 year old son and Carlos was in slave labor. This automatically gets them off of the list and our forced to desperate measures. They see an adoption lawyer who will happily help them with a price.

In lieu of an Applewhite story arc this week, we are treated to the continuing Mary Alice/Paul/Zach mystery, turns out Detective Sullivan arrives to take Paul away and arrests him for "credit card fraud" when he takes him into the relocation van, Paul is forced to fight off men who have knives. Meanwhile, Felicia tries to worm her way back into Zach's life and just as Mike tells Zach what happened Paul resurfaces. Zach then meets Noah and you can automatically see a resemblance. Zach tells him to stay from his dad and not to hurt him.

Now that wasn't really smart because he didn't clarify which dad he wanted saved presumably Paul.

Susan goes into surgery and receives a big boquet of flowers from Dr. Ron and says he loves her. Susan's marriage secret is then found out by Nurse Ruth Ann who plans to tell Dr. Ron. Susan then asks Nurse Heisel not to since it is just for the insurance. Susan is then drawn back to Mike when he visits her before surgery. On the operating table, she says that she loves Mike which is shocking to Dr. Ron.

And probably the most underrated plot of the week, Tom feels resentful that Lynette is the boss everywhere, at home in work and during sex. They manage to patch things up by having sex in the company elevator.

Other important events in "There Is No Other Way"...

*No Applewhites, Edie, Danielle or Julie.

*I liked how Lynette went to visit Susan and they talked about their relationships. Always a nice touch since more recently the housewives haven't been to talky.

*The neighborhood begins to learn about Bree's drinking thanks to Lynette and Bree is struggling to smooth it over. After coming to final blows with Andrew, she reluctantly joins AA.

*Where's Xiao-Mei? Just curious since she's Gabby's new maid and all.

*I thought that was really romantic when Andrew put a ring on Justin's finger but of course we are mislead when Justin is actually punching Andrew--for love of course.

"There Is No Other Way" was another great episode, enjoyable, comedic and a little dramatic besides the Lynette plot. Otherwise very good.
  • This show is literally falling apart!

    6.5
    "Fair"
What\'s going on here? The show seems to be more of a haphazard piecemeal of storylines rather than a seamless continuing drama. Where is Edie?? She appears briefly for an episode or two and then disappears. Where are the Applewhites? We haven\'t seen them for a couple of episodes. Where is Danielle? What happened to the storyline with her and the two Applewhite boys? Last time we saw them was when Danielle was kissing the older son while the other one was ominoussly spying on them through the window. What happened to Susan\'s father? Haven\'t seen him for awhile. Is there a story bible and any long-term planning of storylines going on? This once-can\'t-miss show is now becoming difficult to follow and frustrating to watch. If it weren\'t for the brilliant Marcia Cross, I\'d have stopped watching some time ago. Message to Mark Cherry and the other producers: Let\'s get your act together and put this show back on track before it\'s too late! \"Grey\'s Anatomy\" is already passing you as the Sunday must-see show!
  • Soooo, they're gonna buy a baby?

    "Great"
I cannot believe that Carlos and Gabrielle have decided to purchase a child. Geez. Like, do the people on this show think at all like normal human beings. I know there are people in the real world that actually do this, but it seems to me some realtor got every sinner they could find and put them on them on the same street. Do you realize how many people have DIED since this show started? Mary Alice, Mrs Huber, Bree's husband(cant remember his name), Bree's stalker (cant remember his either), the guy in the Applegates house and Carlos' mom. Not counting Deidre. Geeeeeeeez.
  • Finally we see that Mike still loves Susan. Gabrielle en Carlos will get their baby.. I think it's so sweet:)

Gabrielle en Carlos will get their baby.. I think it's so sweet:)I think it will make a great storyline.

Tom doesn't like Lynette is the boss in everything. I think he's right he has nothing to say not at work and not at home and aparantly not even in the bed. haha

Susan finally has her surgery and Mike comes to see her before she gets in. Does this means he still loves her? Susan is definitly in love with Mike. She says his name before she goes down high on drug and Dr Ron right there. If I was him I would make a mistake ooop :0

Bree really has a drinking problem. Haha. Andrew lets his boyfriend beat him up so he can get on his own and get to his trust fond. I hope he wins!!

    8.0
    "Great"
Susan and Gabrielle carry the humor, and Lynette and Brie develop their characters more. Harriet Harris (Felicia Tilman) is fantastic! Her looks are always a winner. Brie has one of the most powerful lines this season, when Andrew says that he hates her: "The opposite of love is not hate. It's indifference. And if you hate me, then that means a part of you still cares..." Mike needs some new development. His look of consternation is getting redundant.
  • Gabby actually wants a child. Susan loves Mike. Bree's in denial. Paul's dead... Not

    9.2
    "Superb"
Seeing that Gabrielle actually would do anything to get a child(although might not be completely ethical)is fun. We get to see her softer side. She really looked crushed when John's mom said that they wouldn't be able to adopt anywhere. I loved seeing that she really wants a child.

Dr. Ron's note was very much disturbing and I do believe that Susan acted completely rationally to it. The nurse is a bit psychotic! I loved that Mike came over to see her before she went in the operation room. It gives me hope that he still has feeling for her. Dr. Ron freaked me even more when he told in the operating room that he loved Susan. HELLO! she's was about to get operated on, not very conscience of what was going on. But I loved Susan's replay: "That's nice... I love Mike." That was a classic, my favorite quote of the episode.

Bree is much denial about having a drinking problem and i'm onna say no more.

Paul is NOT dead! I wanted him to die, but I really loved Felicia Tilman's face when she saw Paul arrive... Priceless!

What Zack said about only wanting his father(the one who loved him and brought him up)to be safe, it kinda got me. I felt for Mike in that moment, his face said so much about how much that must of hurt.

All in all, I loved the episode and hope there are more to come like it.
  • Susan gets her surgery, Ron tells her he loves her, Paul gets beaten up in jail, Zach meets his grandfather, Tom and Linnette fight, Susan says she loves Mike, Bree continues with her alcohol problem, and Andrew tries to move out.

    9.7
    "Superb"
This episode was slightly farfetched but I find most episodes of Desperate Housewives have been absurdly farfetched lately!! It was a good episode, with lots of things going on as usual. I especially liked it when Ron decides when Susan is under sedation to tell her he loves her, and she says that's nice- I love Mike. Dr. Ron says Who's Mike, and the nurse went I don't know but she's married to a guy named Carl. That I have to say is my favorite moment from this episode!! Also, Dr. Ron's card was extremely cheesy- I couldn't believe it! Andrew is still being mean to his mother, but she is being mean back. I can't believe that she's still drinking even though she's going to AA meetings- she obviously has a problem that she doesn't want to adknowledge!! I truly thought that Paul was dead when Noah ( I think that's his name but I can't remember exactly!) was talking to Mike about him. I'm sort of glad that Zach met Noah finally since he is his grandfather, but I don't think they can ever have a normal grandfather-grandson relationship. Tom and Linette's fight was kind of funny but I can't believe that he feels not enough in control. I think some guys need to get over themselves and let a woman be in control for once!! Their little makeout session in the elevator was kind of funny, but obviously that could never happen in real life!! Gabrielle and Carlos's trouble in adoption was further complicated when John's mother shows up at the agency. They end up paying $20,000 to try to get a child. In this episode, I really got the idea for the first time that Gabrielle actually wants to have a baby and that it's just not Carlos anymore. This was an ok episode, but very farfetched even when it comes to DH!

  • There is no other way-

The pace is starting to pick up on Desperate Housewives.

I am enjoying Bree’s storyline. The only way she could ‘break’ her routine and stop drinking during the week was to stop Andrew from getting his way to become emancipated. She joins AA, but still drinks after the meeting…denial is not very pretty, so things are bound to get interesting.

As for Gabby and Carlos… perhaps they are not going about this the right way…although it makes better TV if they don’t. They dismissed the surrogacy idea really quick. They didn’t have to go with Gabby’s mother as the surrogate but they didn’t look into getting anyone else to do it either.

The thing with Paul was good but was somewhat disappointed and surprised when he came back. I’m glad Zach also went to see his Grandfather; I think he can handle himself well against him.

Poor Susan. I knew that the marriage thing would blow up in her face. I didn’t think she would convince the nosy nurse from blabbing to Dr. Ron but she did…for a little while. When Susan, under the influence of medicine, said she loved Mike the nurse blabbed about being married to someone named Carl. Poor Dr. Ron also. But who would profess their love to someone medicated before surgery??? I think Dr. Ron will be a little distracted during Susan’s procedure…

I also thought it was really sweet for Mike to come see Susan before the surgery…maybe there’s still hope on that front.

The only part I didn’t like was when Tom and Lynette were on the screen. I was kind of bored with Lynette and Tom’s storyline last night. Tom was being whiny. If he doesn’t want to listen to his wife at work, he shouldn’t have gotten the job there, after all she is his boss and he knew it would be that way.

  • It's back, and it was a good episode

    9.4
    "Superb"
Okay I thought Paul was finished!!! He is taken away by a "detective" and he is placed in the back of a truck with some goons, one who decides to attack him. I was actually happy he managed to fight the guy off!!! The look on Felicia Tillmans face when Paul comes back to the house was priceless. You could tell she was shocked. Zach meets his grandfather, but tells him that if his father is hurt he will never visit again.

I wonder when Zach will reveal he knows that Mike is his real father? Andrew wants his trust fund money, and decides he wants to be emancipated so he can get his money. He has his friend beat him up so it looks like when Bree slapped him it left terrible bruises. Bree realizes she has to go to AAA meetings, but she still drinks when she comes home from the meetings.

Gabby and Carlos run into some roadblocks in their quest to become adoptive parents. It does not help the mother of their old lanscaper will do everything in her power to make sure they can't adopt.

Tom is dealing with living and working with his wife. He is having to prove he is "the man" and has to take charge to be taken seriously. Tom realizes that Lynn likes to take charge in the bedroom and in the boardroom and wants to put a stop to it.

    A good episode.
  • Desperate Housewives returns tonight with a great, new episode.

Episode #39 - There Is No Other Way - 3/12/06

Desperate Housewives returns tonight with a great, new episode. Noah sends his man Sullivan disguised as a legitimate detective to the Youngs' door. He takes Paul away for "questioning" on "credit card fraud," and Paul ends up in the back of an armored police car, where a couple of prisoners, two more guys working for Noah, take out a knife and send Paul a "message" from Noah. After Mike finds out that Noah had Paul killed ... and that the creepy Felicia Tillman has moved back in next door to the Youngs, Mike gets his gun and goes to get revenge.

Mike tells Zach what he thinks may have happened, just as Felicia Tillman comes to the door. However, they are distracted by a police car ... that brings a beaten-down Paul back! Then we see a flashback - apparently Paul was able to evade the knife in the back of the armored car until legit police officers arrived to break it up. Felicia Tillman obviously had expected for him to be dead ... Mike tries to convince Paul to let Zach meet with his grandpa ... to make sure that he doesn't try to kill Paul again. Paul refuses, but Zach steps up and insists that he does.

Mike takes Zach to meet Noah, and Zach forces him to promise that he won't go after his dad again. Of course, Zach knows already that Mike is his real dad, but no one else knows that he knows.

Meanwhile, Bree notices that Lynette has been telling the whole neighborhood about her drinking and what she did last time with Lynette's children. She tries to keep the rumours from spreading but fails when she continues to drink uncontrollably. Andrew approaches her, wanting the money from his trust fund so that he can buy a car, but Bree refuses to give it to him. When he mouths off to her, she slaps him, with drink still in hand.

Using this to his advantage, the sly Andrew has his boyfriend punch him in the face. Then, he comes in the next day with a lawyer and claims that his beaten-up face is the result of his drunken mother's slapping. The lawyer decides to grant Andrew emancipation, thereby giving him control of his own trust fund and life. In an attempt to keep her son, Bree trashes all of her bottles of wine and reveals that she will be attending AA meetings every week to fight this case.

Andrew tries to get her to let him go, but she tells him that there's still much more that she needs to teach him before he can become the man she knows he can be. Loving her son enough to give up alcohol, she attends the AA meetings every Friday ... but keeps a couple of bottles of wine hidden ... to "reward" herself with.

Also, Gabrielle and Carlos find out that in order to be "selected" by the baby's mother to be the child's parents, they must first put together a presentable parent portfolio. Realizing that they're terrible people and that their pictures all present a negative vibe, they bribe Lynette into helping advertise them as "great parents."

It almost works, as the couple presents to the adoption agency many pictures of their "fun times" as the godparents of Lynette's kids. However, everything goes to hell when they meet up with the mother of the guy Gabrielle was having an affair with last season (the gardner) ... who then brings that up, along with Carlos' time spent in prison for slave labor. She also threatens to make sure all adoption agencies know the truth.

Realizing that they lost their first child, couldn't get a surrogate mother to conceive another, and now have lost their chance at adoption, Carlos decides that God must be against them having a child. Gabrielle is still adamant about having a child and finds a shady "agency" that will help them get a child - for $20,000.

Susan prepares for her surgery inside of her hospital room, when Carl pays her a surprise visit and makes fun of her card from the doctor she's seeing. When he leaves, he spills the beans about being "married to her" and causes havoc, as the nurse who hears him later accuses Susan of being a skank, until she explains that her ex-husband only married her so that she could pay for her surgery. Susan also realizes that although Dr. Ron has strong feelings for her, she doesn't seem to feel the same way she did when she was with Carl and Mike.

After she is drugged and ready to go to the operation room, she passes the patient room and sees Mike, who came to see her before her operation. In a drugged state, she makes it to the operation room and meets with Dr. Ron, but she accidently tells him that she loves Mike, not him. Finding out that his affections for her are not mutual, Dr. Ron prepares to cut her open.

And after Tom messes up on an advertising presentation, Lynette gets on his back about it. Later in the bedroom, right before sex, Tom realizes that she needs to be in control of him both at the workplace and in the bedroom. Needing to take control again and to "drive the train," Tom takes over as he and Lynette ride on the elevator to work and the two of them have sex then and there.
