  • Great episode!

This episode of Desperate Housewives was a fine example of why we love to watch this show. There was drama, humor, an actual plot, and character development; and all that within one episode.

To me, the best storyline was Bree finding out about the Applewhites hiding Caleb in their 2nd story room and that this is the man the police is looking for. Bree's daughter, Danielle, however, is dumb enough to tell Matthew, Betty Applewhite's son, about her brother running over Mrs. Solis and his mother covering him so he doesn't have to go to jail.

Lynette & Tom work on a marketing pitch together creating a superb idea for a marketing campaign. As a result, Tom decides to apply for a job at Lynette's company so they have to work together for the entire campaign.

Gabrielle's got a plan to get rid off Sister Mary, which works out perfectly fine with Sister Mary being relocated to some church in Alaska. However, she wants to enjoy her moment of triumph and eventually starts a fight with Sister Mary in the church.

Finally, there's Susan's storyline about her and her boyfriend, the doctor, who she doesn't want to perform surgery on her. This storyline was more funny than dramatic but still good, though.

All in all this has to be among the best 2 episodes of this Season so far. If they can keep up the whit and the drama they incorporated into this episode, I think that we are heading towards a grand season finale.
  • This episode is truly amazing and the writing is fabulous. There are a few bits when it gets slightly tedious but it rounds it off well, in true Desperate Housewives style.

The episode at first seems just like the usual crazy stuff we're used to with Desperate Housewives but as it nears the end the plot thickens and Bree gets closer to unravelling the truth about the Applewhites. One thing i didn't like was Danielle telling Matthew all about what happened with Andrew and the whole hit and run thing which causes Bree to lose her leverage against Betty. However, i do believe that Bree will win the war...even 'to the death' in Mary Alice's words. Even though Betty is quite clever, Bree will show us that she's not just a neurotic, Stepford Wife with OCD but in fact, someone who is determined to get to the truth and someone who won't let anyone stop her.

lynette & tom are fast becoming my favourite couple on the show. i love that they keep trying, even though there is something that is so obviously off with their relationship. i really hope that they can pull it together, but for the time being, it is making for some great television.

carlos & gabby are great too. i knew she would end up wanting his baby. i can't wait until they are parents. they were so made for each other.

    i love this show!!

Matthew and Danielle's relationship is walked in upon by Bree, who marches them both across the street to Betty. When Bree tells Betty what she saw, Betty slaps Matthew and tells him to get inside. Susan has started dating Dr. Ron, and she finds out from him at the hospital that she needs a Splenectomy. She then finds out that it will be Dr. Ron's first time performing the operation, and it will be on her. This makes Susan a little uneasy, and Dr. Ron is a little hurt when she asks if she could have a more experienced doctor. Gabrielle becomes slightly uneasy when Carlos bring up the topic of trying for a baby again while they are in church. As the minister announces they have a special guest, Sister Mary Bernard stands up and walks up ready to speak. Gabrielle in shock yells out 'Son of a B!tch'. Tom wants to apply for a job at Lynette’s add agency, but Lynnette is unsure if they will be able to work together and be focused. She tells him she doesn't want to, but when the job interviews are taking place, he shows up anyway. An angry Lynette tries to make him look bad, but her boss loves him, and in the end, Tom ends up getting the job. Bree sees Caleb in the window of Betty's house, and ends up going home and calling all the housewives, saying she has news on the Applewhite's. She tells Danielle to stay away from Matthew, and tells her what she saw. Matthew and Danielle meet, and Danielle asks him, and Matthew tells her about Caleb, she then tells him about what happened with Andrew hitting Mama Solis last year. Betty arrives on Bree's doorstep, and tells her that she knows about what Andrew did, and they will both keep each others secrets. Gabby finds out that Sister Mary has tipped Carlos to get an annulment from her, so she goes to the confession booth, and tells the priest that Carlos admitted he has been sleeping with Sister Mary. Sister Mary then finds out she is being shipped off to Alaska. Gabrielle goes to give her one last kick while she’s down, and the two end up facing off in the church.

Where did the relationship between Michael and Danielle come from? We don't see them together for weeks and suddenly they r going out. Bree's face is hilarious when she sees his hand.

If I was Susan I wouldn't let Dr Ron do my operation, it would be awkward knowing he had put his hands inside me. Ewww!

Thr fight in the church between Gabrielle and Sister Mary Bernardis hilarious, it just shows how interesting religion can be.
  • Gabrielle is not so pleased when Carlos brings up the topic of \"baby\" again as Carlos still wants to continue trying to conceive again.Tom decides to apply for an empty position at Lynette\'s job, which leads to the arousal of past issues in their marri

This episode was really good, loved it, specially when Gabrielle and Sister Mary started fighting in the church that was hillarious!

I think Tom is being stupid, he just needs to find another job, I mean it\'s clear that lynette doesn\'t want him there and she is right it will probably not work out, but we\'ll see.

Next up is the Andrew-Danielle storyline I think they\'re cute together, don\'t like Andrew telling his mom what Danielle told him, but he probably doesn\'t have a choice, i\'m really curious what\'s up with that Caleb guy!

I liked Susan with the cute doctor, he was really nice!

And I loved the comversation between Carlos and Gabrielle about the baby at the end when he sad he would chose her and she tells him she does wanna have a baby with him. I think thats so sweet!!

And I hope Susan will keep dr. Ron because he is cute and they are a great couple, it was very sweet of him to send her flowers.

I cant wait to see next weeks episode.

It’s been looming for week and tonight in a rather progressive enough episode, the existence of Caleb is finally acknowledged by one of the housewives and as I predicted in my last review, there’s a new rivalry and it’s a dangerous one too.

Why any person in the world would want to take on Bree Van De Kamp in the first place is beyond me. None of the other ladies would stand a chance against the repressed homemaker but for the first time, Bree has an adversary who is more than a match for her in Betty and we can thank Matthew and Danielle for this feud.

Proving that she’s almost as rotten as her brother or is just plain stupid, I’m still undecided to be honest, Danielle appears so desperate to hold onto Matthew that as soon as she learns that Bree knows that Gaby’s attacker is living with the Applewhites and is rounding up her friends to divulge this interesting discovery, then no sooner Danielle tells Matthew about Andrew’s hit and run antics, which Betty then wastes no time is using against Bree.

Before Betty even had to mention the obvious similarities between her and Bree, the writer of this episode had made them very clear throughout the hour. Both women usually have no problem in playing the villain when it comes to their children’s love lives but there was a difference in how both women handled Matthew and Danielle being an item.

Betty mostly remained furious about it (did she really have to hit Matthew?), while Bree in a hypocritical turn plays the good cop. The woman flipped when she caught her son in bed with Justin, yet she remained casual after catching Danielle half undressed with Matthew. I suppose Marc Cherry has a hard enough time trying to explain Bree’s homophobia without making her a racist too.

Matthew must have known that giving Caleb his own room, even if the windows were covered with newspaper would have aroused some suspicion, which is why I could understand Betty being mad but she overreacted a lot in this episode. Caleb referred to Danielle being beautiful was worrying (only because the girl has a devastating lack of personality) and although he could still be a danger if riled, Betty scared the shit out of me when she threatened him to keep his distance. I can’t help but feeling bad for this guy. While both Caleb and Andrew have done seriously dangerous stuff, Caleb seems to be a good guy underneath, a trait Andrew seems to lack. Betty has Bree exactly where she wants her for the time being but if I were her, I wouldn’t be so smug though. After all, given past adventures, Bree doesn’t react well to ultimatums.

And if the Bree/Betty rivalry isn’t enough to sink your teeth into, then try on Gabrielle and Sister Mary taking their mutual hatred of one another to the next level and be amazed. I laughed really hard when Gabby swore in church upon seeing the return of her rival ad how poorly she tried to downplay her public outburst but it’s not to see that Carlos and his need to procreate is what gets these women to hate each other.

The more and more he nags to be a father, the more I find myself siding with Gabrielle. This plot is a little too similar to Nate and Brenda’s arc in Season Five of Six Feet Under where Brenda had a miscarriage and Nate kind of rushed her back into getting her pregnant again. Carlos should have enough sensitivity to allow Gabrielle time to get over losing a child instead of forcing her to have one for his sake.

The plot with Sister Mary telling Carlos to use the threat of an annulment as a tool to get Gabrielle to co-operate was a bad idea. When is Carlos going to realise that this kind of things are the reason why their marriage is constantly on the rock and that they never ever work too? Gabrielle got her sweet justice by letting the somewhat impressionable Father Crowley believe that Carlos and Sister Mary were at like rabbits, thus getting her enemy transferred to Alaska and a shamelessly over the top scrap between the two in the church.

Eva Longoria is definitely adept at physical comedy and this was a riot to watch. It’s almost a pity the writers couldn’t have milked this feud for a bit longer but it gets a great send off here and the Solis arc takes a surprisingly turn when Gabrielle tells Carlos she wants to have a child in a touching scene near the end. The question now becomes – are they ready for a kid?

Remember how last year in “Anything You Can Do”, Lynette highlight one of Tom’s sales pitches and impressed? Well the boot is on the other foot when after helping his wife with her latest ad campaign, Tom then decides to apply for a job at Parcher And Murphy much to Lynette’s disappointment. After sabotaging his career last season, I found it a little hard to see Lynette’s perspective on things even when she tried to embarrass Tom during his interview with an easy to please Ed.

I did say last season that it would be interesting to see how that Scavo clan would keep their family together with both Lynette and Tom working and I guess by next week we’ll learn how. I knew that Tom was going to eventually call Lynette out on what she did to his career last season and even though I felt sorry for Lynette (who appeared genuinely remorseful for what she did), he was within his rights to do so. It was nice that in our second totally heartfelt and touching scene that Tom actually forgave Lynette too. It’s also good that Lynette seem willing to learn from her mistakes too.

As apparently Susan is as well. If you were dreading the thought of her being sappy and overtly love sick then this episode shows some scenes of incredible self restraint and logical thinking as she understood Ron’s professionalism when he admitted to being reluctant to getting physical with her and also when she requested another doctor to do her spleen surgery too.

On this debate I sided with Susan, although I understood that Ron would’ve been hurt by what he perceived as a rejection. Their making up scene at the hospital was an interesting character shift as Susan played cool (aside from the cringe inducing click thing). Ron definitely seems like a nice enough guy and Susan acts less crazy around him too which is nice but you could also construe that as her not being over Mike either, which I think it is.

Also in “There’s Something About A War”

Housewife of the week: Edie submitted to Karl in three different ways before she tied him to the bed to watch her movie. Go Edie!

    Karl: “You are so bad”

    Edie: “You have no idea”.

The start of the episode said that Edie had two failed marriages but in Season One, it had mentioned several times that she’s been married four times. Unless two of her husbands actually died or she divorced two of them.

Carlos: “I’d have invited you into the house but the place is a total pigsty”

Sister Mary: “Carlos, I’m a nun, not a moron”.

Tom’s ideas seemed to revolve a lot around animals. With Lynette’s pitch he suggested Hugh Heifer and Bull Clinton and then there were the famous “Cheeses Evil” ad that Ed liked.

Carlos: “This fight can be over if you make me a promise”

Gabrielle: “The only thing I can promise is that this isn’t over”.

Betty (to Caleb): “If you ever look at that Van De Kamp girl again, I will hit you twice as hard as your brother and I won’t feel bad about it”.

The half credit sequence is back again. ABC needs to sort this out because it looks lazy on their part.

Ron (re steak): “It’s not the freshest meat”

Susan: “Neither am I. I’ve got thirty five years on that cow”.

I noticed that nurse in this episode is the same one from “There Won’t Be Trumpets”. Also Gaby’s kitchen has gone pin or is it the living room?

Carlos: “I got a call from the church. They said you attacked Sister Mary”

    Gabrielle: “Yeah, that’s about right”.

Lynette: “And what I need from you is to be forgiven”

    Tom: “Actually I already have”.

No Mike, Zach, Andrew, Paul or Julie in this episode.

    Betty: “What’ll it be?”

    Bree: “I’ll raise you”.

The chronology is about a week since the previous episode.

I liked this one. “There’s Something About A War” is an excellent example of what makes this show work so well. Hopefully with Bree and Betty at loggerheads the Applewhite mystery will now finally move forward after being stalled for so long.

the episod shows us the important to communicate with others in order to express the personal point of view and to avoid to keep it secret,it's seems easy but it's need more comprehension and patient because sometimes people don't try to understand what the others want to mean because they don't make efforts
  • One of the best episodes so far this season, funny, mysterious, and revealing!

It was a great episode. Gabrielle storyline was the best of the episode with the most weird but oustanding cat fight i've ever seen in a show, it was hilarious the way the creators constructed it, and better it was Gabrielle vs. a Nun and in Church! i love also the way Gaby reacted when she find out Sister Mary B had finally returned from her trip during mass (SOB!). Also revealing was Bree's storyline which finally gets closer to the mystery of the Applewhites! which is finally giving something to talk about. Lynete was great in the scene when she ask for forgiveness to Tom, it really was a touching scene for Felicity and it was flawless, it's good that finally they can move on abot that issue. Susan had the weakest but a funny one story with her new love, Dr. Ron, it was funny when she freaked out about the way he cutted the overcooked beef. Again this is consider a series classic with all the elements that this Show constructed with a high level creativity! I want to see more episodes like this one!

Betty really showed Bree who's the damn boss. I love it! Its gonna be a real war with those two. Now what was it exactly that Caleb did? Kill some girl by mistake. Sounds real "Of Mice and Men"ish.

Susan cracks me up. The doctor is reall into her. That happened kind of fast.

Oh and Tom got the job. That was great. But I can't wait to see what problems their marriage has. I bet he cheated on her.

And last but not least, Gabby beat up the nun. lol.

It's great to see Desperate Housewives finally back to its best after a slow start to the season. I think this episode is one of the better ones of the second season.

My favourite thing about this episode is the Bree and Applewhite dispute, it really makes you wonder what the will happen next. And oh, Gabrielle's cat fight with the nun was very funny!

    Good entertainment.

This episode continues the return to what was so great about Season One. Alfre Woodard is absolutely wonderful in this role. The twist that occured between she and Bree was completely unexpected and it played out very well. I love that Bree finally has someone who can give her a run for her money. The relationship with Susan and the doctor is moving along nicely. I'm so happy she's over Mike Delfino - he has been such an ass to her that I really do not want to see them back together. He may be hot but she's better off without him.

"I'm not some uterus in high heels".--Gabrielle

If anyone has said that Desperate Housewives is still in the so-called "sophomore slump" look no further than this episode. The episode was great on so many levels. There was the gatherings that everyone loves, mystery, the comedy and of course everyone's favorite moment from this week: a bitch fight between Gabrielle and Sister Mary.

This week's theme seems to revolve around of course war, everyone seems to be finding difficulty in their relationships with the people they are closest to. In the hilarious teaser, Edie is tired of always losing battles to boyfriend Karl and when he really crosses the line by changing her old war movie to a football game, Edie seduces him and ties him to the bed promising she will return. After 10 minutes Edie returns to her movie with Karl still tied to the bed. Oh, Edie how you are evolving into such a great character!

Meanwhile, Doctor Ron doesn't want to get to close to Susan since he is still obviously a little uncomfortable. Susan tries to lure him in since Julie is at Karl's and she has a bottle of wine. He hesitates and quickly kisses her. He tells her he is really hot for her but doesn't want to do anything just yet. He kisses Susan again and goes on his way. The next day, Ron tells Susan she needs surgery to remove her spleen. A nurse then comes in and congratulates Ron since it will be his first time. I know I would not like it if it was the doctor's first time: significant other or not. Susan tells him over what looks like a lousy steak dinner that she's uncomfortable. Ron storms out seeing as she doesn't trust him with a knife and scapel. The next day, Susan decides the hell with it and to let him do the surgery but when she gets to the hospital he has changed his mind.

I usually think Lynette is boring and a little whiny but this week the Lynette/Tom storyline was great. Tom helps Lynette with an advertising campaign about yogurt. Although some of Tom's ideas are corny, Lynette uses them which makes Tom proud. Lynette then tells him a position is opening up and if he has anyone to recommend. He nominates himself but Lynette immeadiately doesn't like the idea. Tom decides to give it a try anyway by surprising Lynette on interview day. Ed likes Tom a lot due to a ad he did previously and wants to hire him. Lynette agrees to hire him if he never resents her for the promotion she talked the boss' wife out of in "Impossible" and that she will forgive him. Tom tells her he already has. Now, I like that Tom is going back to work but they've already had a high class nanny: Marla Solokoff, who was really perfect except she was sexy. Will we be seeing perhaps an unatrractive, older nanny? Only one way to find out: stay tuned.

Next up is the ongoing Bree/Betty plot. Matthew decides to move Caleb up to the guest room which Betty instantly objects to seeing as he will draw attention. Then, Bree catches Danielle alone with Matthew in her bedroom and asks "Is there a black man hiding underneath your bed?" Bree then takes Matthew back to his house where Betty slaps him. Wow, they have something in common: slapping. Bree then tries to make everything better with Danielle by letting her date Matthew but when she talks to Betty she spots Caleb and recognizes him. She then plans to tell all the girls Betty's secret. Danielle puts a stop to it by telling Matthew a family secret. Before poker, Betty comes over and tells Bree if she does what she's about to do she will tell everyone about the Mama Solis hit and run and how she covered it up. Bree has to quickly make something up and tells the girls Betty will be joining them at poker. Uh-oh, is Bree about to go to war with Betty? I love it, Bree will totally win. Definitely Alfre Woodard/Betty's best episode yet.

And last but not least probably the most entertaining this week was the lovely Gabrielle Solis. I knew her story was going to be good just by the previews. Carlos brings up the baby thing in church which gets Gabrielle angry. On top of it, Sister Mary is back which causes Gabrielle to yell Son of a bitch! during mass. That was so funny, I mean she's got a point she's supposed to be gone for 2 months. Carlos then tells Sister Mary that Gabrielle's not having a baby. She then gives him anullment papers which he gives to Gabby. Gabby takes that as a threat and sees Father Crowley at confession. She concocts a lie where she tells Father that Sister and Carlos are having an affair. Father believes it and sends Sister Mary off to Alaska. Gabby then goes to visit Sister Mary and gloat but Sister Mary knows and declares war by throwing a brush at her. Gabby goes up to her and punches her in the face this causes a shove and then Sister Mary goes on fire which Gabrielle quickly puts out, then Sister Mary bites her and the fight is ended by a priest. Gabby then goes home to find a furious Carlos who has just heard the news. Gabby then tells her that "she's not a uterus in high heels" (Definitely the best line of the evening) but that she will have his baby. Nice touch!

Other important events in "There's Something About a War"...

*No Andrew, Zach or Paul but it was nice to have the other Van De Kamp: Danielle since there's only so much they can do with Andrew.

*Betty joining the weekly games. Not surprising but I can definitely see something happening between her and Bree its just to good to pass up.

*Lynette & Tom working together: I'll give it three episodes. This will break up the marriage if they're not cooperative.

*I would've loved to see more Felicia since the writers left us on such a cliff hanger this week. And no Noah/Felicia means no Mike.

*Susan and Dr. Ron: a good couple but each of their feelings get hurt to easy. I think he's a keeper but judging at the previews I think Susan's turning to Karl for help. Watch out, Edie!

"There's Something About a War" was an awesome episode and only drew my expectations higher. It is really a shame that we will have to wait two more weeks for another installment of our favorite ladies. Bravo!

Wow wow wow, this episode was really reeally amazing, Bree vs Betty!!! (who could imagine it!), the super fight between princess daisy and Gabrielle (I laugh so much!!! oh my god) in the church, the final decision for Gabrielle (to have a baby) and of course the bizarre secret between the applewithe and the Van de Kamp.

At the beginning of the episode, I was sure that the story of mrs Solis will be out. But I understood how when Danielle said her secret to the young Applewithe boy. (damn what is he name???)

Does Bree will really keep it? does Betty will be really her good friend? When will Zach discover that Mike is his real father, what about the lovestory between Karl/Edie, Zach/Julie, Danielle/the applewithe boy :p and Susan/the surgeon.
  • Susan begins dating her doctor, but the relationship goes awry when he tries to do a surgery to her, Tom confronts Lynette about acquiring a job at her firm, Gabrielle confronts Sister Mary Bernard and when Bree confronts Danielle about Josh, her traitoro

    10
    "Perfect"
When watching this particular episode, I could only think: What the hell is wrong with Bree’s kids? I know they don’t have a perfect mother, and I know they blame her for the death of Rex, but between Andrew’s threats (not felt in this episode because he is still at camp) and this weeks Danielle’s treason, well I believe we have two psychopaths in the works here. Also, is Bree so blind that she cannot anticipate how her little angels will behave?

Anyway, I really liked this episode, first we have Susan with her doctor, and the Splenectomy, although it wasn’t the strongest of the 4 stories, it was entertaining watching Susan freaking out when Ron is cutting his meat, because she is afraid about him operating her. I hope she can have a good relationship with Ron, or at least, one that keeps her distracted from Mike for a while, because lately her begging was becoming a little sad.

Next, were Lynette and Tom, continuing with their plot about Tom not being happy in their marriage, they confront about a new job in Lynette’s firm, it was very amusing watching them attacking one another during Tom’s interview, as they have to keep a low profile with Ed, because Tom does not disclose the fact that he is Lynette’s husband. In the end, it will be interesting seeing their dynamic at work and later at home.

Giving a hard time to one of the worst characters that has grace the universe of Desperate Housewives, Gabrielle tells a lie to father Crowley, thus sending Mary Bernard to Alaska, although their catfight was funny (not hilarious), I believe that the sister is way over the top, so I really never liked when she was around and neither the plot involving her. But it was a tender moment when Carlos chooses Gabrielle and she in response, tells him she wants to have a baby, I believe this is a definite moment in their marriage.

    SPOILER WARNING¡¡

But the key plot of the night was the one with Bree and Betty Applewhite. When Bree discovers Danielle and Josh alone in her room, she talks to Betty and in response Betty, after slapping Josh, tells them that they will be moving out soon. Danielle melts down in such a ridiculous way that it was hard not to laugh at her, but Bree buys it all and tries to convince Betty to let them see each other again. Betty, as cold as ever, says no but at that moment Bree sees Caleb in the second floor of the house (he is in that room, because Josh does not want him in the basement anymore) and flees. At her house, Bree calls all her friends to tell them that they have to meet because she has tremendous news about the Applewhite’s and at the same time tells Danielle that she saw Caleb and prohibits her to see Josh, to which Danielle responses in such a vicious way that psycho-Andrew would be jealous, telling Josh that Andrew hit Juanita Solis and that Bree has been covering up the accident since. In the best moment of this season, Betty goes to Bree’s house just moments before the other housewives arrive to threaten Bree: if she even breaths a single word to anyone regarding the existence of Caleb, Betty will tell Carlos, Gabrielle and the police about the accident and subsequent cover up.

I consider that Alfre Woodard gave an excellent performance, when she is at first talking about what a mother would do for her son, and then threatening Bree so calmly that it appeared she was just chatting with her, it was a really awesome scene. Of course it is also a very pivotal moment, because from here it will be a war between them, and I really think it will end in someone’s death (I’m rooting for Danielle¡ sorry I just can’t stand her¡)

    END OF SPOLIER¡¡

In the end, it was good seeing marriages and relationships grow, and although the reason for the confrontation of Bree and Betty was not very intelligent, I like said confrontation, I’m really looking forward to the next episodes, because we are just in the half mark, and many, many things can still happen this season.

Yes, I love "Desperate Housewives" and this episode was really like the others, great! Many story lines are developed this one. Let's start with Susan and Dr. Cute who are getting closer than ever after a little argument over which doctor was gonna perform surgery on Susan's spine. Has Susan totally forgotten Mike Delfino? Apparently yes, but this could lead to some twists in next episodes. Then, Sister Mary Bernard comes back and, in fact, tries to mess up with the Solis couple again, but in vain. She is gonna leave because she is being transferred to another church (because of Gabrielle). As for Gabrielle, she seems to have understood her husband's point about a baby and is now ready to have one. Moreover, Lynette finally accepts her husband in her firm, as an executive. However their couple appears shaky. Another point : the love relationship between the Applewhite kid and Bree's daughter. It's gonna lead to trouble because the latter told her new boyfriend about her brother's little accident with his car. This put Bree is a difficult situation because if she opens her mouth about her recent discovery of the Applewhite hidden brother then her family will run a risk.

As a whole, different story lines were continued or started so as to make an excellent episode.

    Way to go!
  • Bree catches her daughter fooling around Mrs. Applewhite's son. She takes him back to his house and notices a surprise reaction. Also she notices Kaleb in their house. Susan runs into trouble with her boy friend when she comes to know that he is going to

A great episode. I really pity Bree. Its now official that Bree's both kids are jerks. But I just can't buy the fact that a daughter can get so angry at her mother that she can put her whole family to a risk. Carlos and Gabrielle amicably solved thier disputes which was really good to watch. Hope that finally they can have a smooth marriage. I think that things are gonna get rocky for the Scavo's. Tom taking a job and with no-one to watch the kids they are gonna end up fighting all the time. Hope i am wrong.

This is one more example of a good show, being well written, to make a great episode. The show itself was starting to drag a bit, however with the double black mail, lieing, and all the other stuff in this episode that makes this sereies such a great one, makes this episode so great. I really like to liver surgery arc. This whole arc of susan is just so well done. Also I like how Edie's character arc is starting to not be as much attention as it has been in the past. I really wish they would kill of her character but they did not ask me. The Scavo arc is also a great one, and now they are working together.

    "Quote Nevermore"
  • Bree vs Betty, Gabby vs Sister Mary, Lynette vs Tom (sorta)... this episode was all about WAR! With a big catfight!

Yey! DH is truly back to it's Season 1 form and Season 1 was UNMISSABLE television. The whole kind of war theme was excellent especially Gabby vs Sister Mary and Betty vs Bree.

I was glad that Edie was used as the starter for the episode and I loved what she did to Karl! They made Danielle more interesting and the show is heating up with all the revelations that Bree and Betty are going to use against each other. The Caleb storyline is building up more and I cant wait for when Bree talks to him.

Susan's plotline was average in this episode- I wonder what Mike will say about the doctor! Lynette's was good- I hope there's gonna be some sort of rivalry between the two- it was hilarious when Tom made up that alias Tom Cavos! A "clever anagram!" Gabrielle's fight with Sister Mary was awesome- she was the Housewife of the Episode for me. It was sweet when she told Carlos she wanted a baby. Their future is looking good and I cant wait to see Gabby's parenting skills.

    Episode Grade- A+.
  • It was so nice to finally see in interesting twist to the Applewhite storyline.

A very good episode. It lacked Paul, Mike, Julie, Zack, and Felicia but was a extraordinary episode.

I loved the begginning with Edie. I have never been an Edie fan but she does add both humor and drama to the show. I loved the way she manipulatited Carl. Don't mess with Edie when she is watching a movie! lol

I really liked Susan this week also. The snap snap was so funny. I was glad when she told the Doc that he couldn't do surgery on her. I was very surprised that she did that since in the past she has had the do anything for love attitude. I thought she made a very mature decision and was glad the Doc supported her in the end. I still have missed feelings about this relationship. i really liked the chemisty between Susan and Mike.

Wow! I was so glad to see some dimension in the Applewhites. Alfre can act and done an absolutely fabulous job this week. The silent truce between her and Bree is a wonderful storyline. I have a feeling that Bree will get the last laugh. I loved the poker scene at the end. Bree raised Betty after everyone else had folded. I think this is a sign of things to come. Bree Van De Camp does not fold and does not give up easily. I was also glad to see Danielle this week. I loved Bree's reaction to finding Matthew under her bed. I also loved the shock in both Bree and Danielle's face when Betty slapped Matthew.

My second favorite scene in the whole episode was with Lynette and Tom. When Lynette was sitting at the table and made him promise not to bring it up again and to forgive her. The emotion in her face was wonderful. She delivered that scene so well. I am not sure how it will go with Tom and Lynette working together. That is a lot of time to spend with someone. I am interested to see were it is going.

The best scene in the episode involved Gabby but in my opinion wasn't the catfight. Don't get me wrong that was so funny. I loved the way she smacked sister Mary. And sister mary caught on fire...lol The nun deserved it. When Gabby went back to coffession with the different priest that was so funny. "How long has it been since your last confession?" "Not to long!" lol But the best scene was between her and Carlos. Her uterus in high heels comment was unforgettable. In the one single scene we get to see something that we don't see often; the love that Carlos and Gabby do have for each other. It was great when Carlos admitted he wanted Gabby and Gabby said that she would have a baby.

Great episode! Cant wait till next week!
  • A fine example of how the show used to be and should be in the future

For some time I've been thinking that the show is slowly going downhill but I must say, last night's episode was amazing. Great stories from every character. I feel so sad for Bree who's children are both completely nuts - I mean c'mon, she's Mrs. Cleaver incarnate, not Satan, I can't believe they hate her so much.

Gabriel and Carlos really love eachother and it was so nice to have that re-iterated last night. That nun really had to go, she was stressing me out.

Susan's character is as querky as ever, the girl who just can't get a break but last night, she scored and I hope that one day, Mike Delfino will be looking out his window at the same moment that Dr. Ron plants a nice big wet juicy kiss on her. Serves him right.

Lynette and Tom's storyline rocked. I now undertand why Felicity Huffman takes home all the Emmy's. Her performance last night was right on. I'm really interested to see where this goes. It's going to get good.

Keep it up Housewives - last night was the start of a beautiful come-back.
  • Well its official. Both of Bree's kids are jerks. Tom and Lynette share the same office space. And Gabby has a catfight with the nun.

I loved this episode. Bree was right on the mark when she walked into her daughers room. She might actually have met her match in Betty (that is her name right, keep forgetting.) The last lines about war were right on the mark with these two. They both fight to the death.

I have the distinct feeling that only bad things are going to happen when Tom goes to work at Lynette's company. They both have very different....uhhhhhh methods of work. This is not going to end well.

The last scene between Gabby and Carlos was sweet. You really couldn't tell in the first season, but these two really do love each other, and are quite willing to do just about anything to prove it. (Tee hee nun fight.)

And finally, susan. Ahh susan and doctor guy were boring.

    Well in conclusion.

    Gabby versus Nun Lady

    Tom versus Lynette

    Bree versus Betty Applewhite.

    Let the war begin!
  • Throwdown!

No word as yet as to whether Edie ever untied Karl -- and to be honest, that kind of nonsense would fly with me about exactly once, so Edie better enjoy the hell outta that movie.

Susan should never cook. For anyone. Especially someone she wants to like her.

I did like the fact that she got both a little forward and more self-empowered in this ep. Dr. Ron's feelings were hurt, but the fact is, he's not the best guy for the job, and if he cared for her at all, he'd let someone else be her surgeon and he'd just be her date.

That'd clear up that ethics thing, too. :)

Lynette and Tom had a great scene at the dinner table, and Lynette asking forgiveness for that promotion she sabotaged. Getting him to never bring it up again was a good move for her -- the healing can't begin until the festering is cleared out. She had, in my opinion, the best line of the night: "If you do (bring it up again), you will unleash demons you do not want to meet." Great line, great delivery.

And their working together solves that Tom-possibly-being-attracted-to-the-nanny thing. If he's never there when she isn't, she can keep an eye on him. And Penny can be at corporate daycare. Excellent.

I think she's right to be uncomfortable with the idea of working together -- some of Tom's ideas were ... wrong (the cow-tipping thing was really a no-go). But both of them working together could be pretty cool. Can't wait to see where it goes.

Most regulars here know by now that I tend to organize these reactions counting down to what I consider to be the best storyline. And this week it's super close, but I'm saying tonight's runner-up is actually ... Bree.

I mean, don't get me wrong -- her trading silence for Caleb with Betty's silence on Andrew's hit-and-run was a classic mexican standoff. But to include Bree finding out about Caleb right on top of finding out about Mathew was just ...

Better get those muffins out of the oven, Bree.

Betty was extraordinarily poised. And to allow Caleb to move upstairs was a little bit -- wow would I have tinted those windows. Not that Bree got an excellent look at him, but ... whoa. She's absolutely right ... Caleb can't remember stuff like that for any length of time.

And what is Danielle talking about? Dried up old fossil indeed. Bree's hot. She just needs to meet someone who isn't a closet S&M freeq or a psychopath.

Side note: On the racism. Bree's reaction was exactly the same as that of any mom who discovered a boy in her daughter's room. I thought maybe they were going to do a really boring twist and have Betty be racist. But Betty was all about maternal instinct, and looking out for Caleb. There was no racism there.

Course, if Bree had walked into Danielle's room a moment earlier, I'm afraid a shirtless Mathew in Danielle's bed would've been ... I suspect the separation would've been all the more forceful.

It all led up to a wonderfully itchy truce at the end.

Best storyline of the night, tho, was Gabi's. Her throwdown with Sister Mary wasn't even the reason, although that was just ...

She lit her on //fire//! And Sister Mary //bit// her! That was wild. I love how she lied about Sister Mary and then confessed. She didn't really repent, of course. But she was driven to save her marriage. It's impossible to ignore the fact that Sister Mary and Carlos were having an emotional affair at the very least.

And Gabi's outburst in church was wonderful -- especially trying to pass it off onto that adorable little old lady behind her.

I couldn't help missing a bit of the S1 Carlos vibe in this week's eppy, but his threatening her with an annulment for not promising to have a child was very much in sync with that.

Gabi's demand that Carlos see her as more than a uterus in heels was cool. And there was so much love in the scene where she did promise Carlos that she wanted a child -- someday -- when Carlos affirmed that he did love her, even if they never did have children.

I was anticipating, with that opening, that we'd see some hint about Edie's son in this one. And there wasn't any movement on the Youngs' storyline. Even so, I just found this to be a thoroughly enjoyable episode, setting up some potentially wonderful plotlines closing out the season.

    Well done, people. Well done.
  • A beautiful episode

The catfight was awesome, especially with the catching on fire. The cause of the fight seemed reasonable enough: the nun wanted Carl to annul with Gabby, and Gabby lied that the nun had sex with Carl. But the result of the fight is even better. Carl chose to have Gaby over having a baby, and Gaby decided to have a baby with Carl. I had misty eyes at that scene.

Another great scene was with Lynette and Tom. Felicity Huffman is so great, and the husband gets better and better lines each episode.

The scenes with Susan and the doctor is funny. But is a wandering spleen that neccessary to cut out?

The OOOOH moment of the night was when Betty found a reason to blackmail Bree.
