(Lizzie looks through a greenhouse window)
Lizzie Siddal: Who on earth rented this out to you?
Dante Rossetti: The owners are away, so I am looking after it for them.
Lizzie Siddal: And they wanted you to stay here?
Dante Rossetti: Well, I'm sure they would if they knew me.
William Holman Hunt: Miss Siddal, you have been posing for me now for less than two minutes and in that time you have spoken more than my last model spoke in six months.
Lizzie Siddal: What was she wearing?
William Holman Hunt: She wasn't.It was a nude study.
Lizzie Siddal: Well I can understand how that might inhibit the easy flow of conversation.
Fred Walters: To capture a man of Ruskin's moral certainty and judgment the Brotherhood needed to secure a model. For that they needed me, and I, I needed my mother.
Mr Stone: Mr Rossetti I have a piece of advice for you: Learn to paint.
Mr Stone: Mr Millais, when you came to us as an eleven year old I could see you were destined for great things.
John Millais: Thank you.
Mr Stone: But by aligning yourself with these pavement artists you arouse the Academy's utter disgust.
(Rossetti and Walters discuss finding a model)
Dante Rossetti: She has to be both ordinary and extraordinary.
Fred Walters: I think you'll find she is all of those things.
Fred Walters: This was the happiest day of my life. There I was, me, Fred Walters, a close acquaintance of the three most radical and celebrated painters of their generation,The Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood.
