    • QUOTES (6)

      • Rex: (as Josh and Ryder bicker about the mermaid) Both of you guys, stop it! I've already got her, we're going out to dinner later. I was going to try to take her for sushi, but she wouldn't bite.
Josh: (laughing with Ryder) Leave it to Rex! We're out here on the water, he's having dinner with a bare breasted mermaid.
Ryder: Why do you immediately assume it's a female mermaid?
Josh: Otherwise it'd be a merman, and I don't think Rex rolls that way.

      • Josh: Ryder, have you ever seen a mermaid?
Ryder: I don't think so, have you?
Josh: I was a young boy in Cape Cod. I didn't know how to swim, but I jumped in the water and I was saved by a beautiful woman.
Ryder: That's the plot to Splash.
Josh: (indignantly) Maybe, or maybe it happened! You don't know, we didn't know each other back then!

      • Josh: We have 48 hours to find this mermaid, get the money, and get out of town- basically, the plot of Ocean's Eleven.
Ryder: Thanks God Rex is a Chinese acrobat!

      • Josh: (at a huge crumbled section of The Great Wall) Wall's out.
        Ryder: What's the next step?
Josh: Either you can jump that, or we need the climbing ropes.
Ryder: Okay, let me get a running start...
        Josh: Get the ropes!

      • Ryder: (referring to the bounty promised for photographic proof of the mermaid) So, how're you going to be splitting the million when we find the mermaid?
Josh: Split it? What are you talking about? I get a million dollars, you get a free trip to Kiryat Yam, Israel.
        Ryder: The math seems faulty.

      • Josh: (climbing to one of the steepest sections of China's Great Wall) I don't know about 'Great Wall'. Certainly 'Inconvenient'.

    • NOTES (1)

      • While studying for a degree in archeology, Josh took part in an undersea excavation of Caesarea Maritima's harbor complex, which are the same undersea ruins that were explored by the team as being a possible habitat for the mermaid.

    • ALLUSIONS (1)

      • Josh: After our kayaks and vomit inducing dinghies, we were, to crib a line from my favorite movie, going to need a bigger boat.
Josh is referring to the 1975 movie Jaws.
