Professor Agasa gives Conan a new pair of glasses with tracking capabilities. A woman comes to Kogoro wanting to find her long lost father. They find him quite easily and soon the two are re-united. The next day the father is found dead; strangled. They then find another detective who was looking for the same man. They soon find out that the woman, Masami, may not be who she says she was.moreless
  • I guess this episode was okay... The story could have been a little better though.

A young woman asks Kogoro to find her missing father. With a little help from Conan, they find out that he's watching a horse race. The father looks completely shocked when he sees his "daughter". Could it be a look of happiness? Or a look of complete terror? But when the two are reunited, they see a mysterious hooded figure. The next day, the same figure is seen outside the Moori residence, and Ran attacks him, only to discover it's another detective helping someone else find the same man- except instead of a young woman looking for her father, it's a tall, scary looking man claiming to be his brother. Are these people really related? And how come the man's wearing the young woman's watch? How does all of this fit in with an armored truck robbery? And how come the "father" was killed by someone incredibly strong and with big hands, yet the man's "brother" gets killed later on?! I found this episode very confusing and kind of hard to follow, but it all made sense in the end... kind of. I still think it could have been better.moreless

    • Conan: Robbery, kidnapping, murder... There are so many crimes these days. Agasa: And isn't that why detectives like you come in handy? Conan: Even though the cases are all too easy.

    • Conan's Items - Criminal Pursuit Glasses: According to Agasa, this glasses modification can display the location of its sticker-like transmitter within a 20-kilometer radius allowing Conan to track criminals down. In "The Last Wizard of the Century" the glasses gain another modification: bullet-proof lenses.

    • Opening Theme: "Mune ga dokidoki" by The High-Lows Ending Theme: "Step by Step" by ZIGGY

    • Anime/Manga Difference(s): In the manga, the mastermind of the crime was Gin and Vodka, with Akemi Miyano revealed as a member of their organization. Akemi's reason for stealing the money was to buy her and her sister out of the organization. For refusal to hand over the money, Gin shoots her as he and Vodka depart. Before dying, Akemi tells Conan about the organization and the way that the members dress. Because of this change, the story would later be redone in episode 128 to fix the storyline (as the events from the story come into play in episode 129-130).
