Show Summary

This short-lived sitcom—also known as Detective School—One Flight Up—dealt with an unusual assortment of students who, obviously, attend a night school for detectives run by inept private investigator Nick Hannigan. Their lesson plan is continually interrupted by evidence of actual criminal activity in progress. The students included show salesman Eddie Dawkins; secretary Teresa Cleary; La Fleke Lingerie Company model Maggie Ferguson; an elderly gentleman named Robert Redford; housewife Charlene Jenkins; door-to-door salesman Leo Frack; and mailroom clerk Silvio DaSalvo. The Hannigan Detective School and Agency was suuposedly located at 1407 East Figaroa.

  • Okay so the plots were a bit hokey and the jokes could have been better, but I liked it.

    I'm sorry this show had a short run. Sure, it needed some fine tuning, but I enjoyed it.



    Well, I did when I was a kid back in the late 1970's. I'm not sure if I'd like it as much today, but I'd love to see an episode and find out.



    I remember not only liking Randolph Mantooth's character, but also Pat Profts. The only episode I can recall took place in a bank. They were hostages, and the police sent in food that was laced with a sedative. Pat's character was the only one who ate it and he starts to fall asleep.
