really wasn't expecting the Devil May Cry premier, since the series doesn't actually air until later in the season. Maybe I'm just not great at keeping up with the news huh? ^. Well the first episode was pretty fun, but it really felt like it had a video game plot. The majority of the episode was spent on action sequences, full of Dante's shooting and lots of demon blood. The animation is great though, as Madhouse is taking care of it. I will definitely be watching this show, but I'm not too sure about blogging it. I'm really not good with shows with lots of jargon yet, which is why I didn't blog Darker than Black and other shows this season. I'm also not the most hardcore Devil May Cry fan in the world. I played the first game and loved it, but I'm just not much of a gamer. I'll make my decision after it actually starts airing.

The screens are horrible quality, but I'll get new ones up when I get a better raw (probably when the actual premier airs).

Watching the actual premier over the crappy web preview made me like this episode a lot more. With the added ED and preview, I'm really getting excited about this show. I'll probably pick it up, and do my best with the summary. I mean, I seem to manage Touka Gettan right? ^.moreless

Decent first episode

It's your typical start-off to an action anime: big guns, lots of blood, and conniving chicks-not to forget that disinterested, hunky main character.

I didn't know exactly what to expect for the Devil May Cry anime as I haven't played the game and only read the latter parts of the 3rd manga. This first episode leaves me almost as disinterested as Dante. There's far too many anime clichés that have been over used and at present there doesn't seem to be anything resembling a storyline.

It's possible that in future episodes the plot line will be determined, but in a series so short, it really should begin soon. It's against the rules to leave your viewers hanging until the final two episodes. That's when they mutiny. An extremely generalized opening episode gains 7.7/10. Let's hope for something more.moreless

humm! well i would say this was an amazin series but i just have to higher standards for this series purely because of the game ! Devil may cry 1, 2, 3 and when 4 comes out are my fav games and the 4th game look even better than the 3rd ! but i havnt played it yet soo i dnt no so we shall see what happends! but anyway back to the series it was quite wierd for me because i play the games pufriously so i knew the story line and in the series its totally different it is proble somthin i will hav 2 get used to soo i shall watch the series again and see if i can get into it second time around ! jenaevemoreless

- The anime's place in the Devil May Cry "timeline" is never stated, but it can be inferred that it takes place after the original game. This is due to the fact that Dante knows both Lady and Trish. The only possible hole in this theory is the fact that the business is named "Devil May Cry" and not "Devils Never Cry" as it was at the end of the first game. It is highly possible, however, that Dante changed it back after he and Trish ended their partnership.
