Dexter almost admires the man, though, for his smooth-talking charm and effortless lying, which Dexter knows he lacks himself these days. Dexter's been unable to lie to Rita about his midnight activities, which has her thinking that he's a drug addict. She's threatened to leave him if he doesn't commit to a 12-step program to deal with his supposed addiction. While in this recovery, though, Dexter meets a sexy, mysterious woman named Lila.moreless

Deb offers to help LaGuerta, so that she can steer theinvestigationaway from Dexter ifnecessary. Dexter discovers blood on his boat and finds out that Isaak is after him. Hannah McKay is back to help find some of the victims from the killing spree. Dexter finds something interesting while studying one of the unearthed bodies.

Dexter is conflicted with the phone call that Deb made to him. He has to make a decision between Hannah and his sister. It goes beyond that though, will he honor his own code? Another problem arises when Aster and Cody's grandfather has a kidney stone and the kids end up with Dexter. This can be very dangerous when he has a target on his head from Issac. Dexter also saves Issac's life by accident. We also find out why Issac so desperately want Dexter's dead, Issac is holding on to a secret.

Deb and the police catch Ray Speltzer. They work him and get a confession. After a video of Ray's arrest reveals that the officers did not properly Mirandize him, they are forced to let him go. Dexter realizes that this is his chance to take Ray out in his own special way. Dexter realizes that some things have to change if he can continue to keep himself separate from guys like Ray. The strip club is still being raided and Isaak has had enough. He decides to give the police what they want, even if it means framing an innocent man.

Dexter explains his dark passenger to Hannah while she is visited by her father who hasn't always been the best father to her. Quinn has a final confrontation with George Novikov who decided to send Nadia to another club. LaGuerta tells Matthews that she thinks Dexter is the Bay Harbor Butcher and they both try to resolve a way to deal with the situation.
