The opening credits to Dexter are one of my favorites of all time.  Anyone else agree?

It is so creepy!! I never realized how violent all our everyday actions could seem to the trained eye! And the fact that he gets that little thrill from swatting a bug, EEEEWWWW!

But i can take or leave that whole bit, the only part i really REALLY want to see is right at the end, he's walking along the walkway, glances over at the view and...

DING! as he looks back. that ding gets me giggling EVERY time!!

So, to answer your Q, yes, I DO LOVE IT!!!

The credits are creepy and repulsive, but hey that's the show about a sociopathic serial killer
It is though revealing to see how violent and gross our daily routines are. It is silly, but I always try to skip the credits having no problems watching chopped corpes afterwards in a show.

Blood is so appropriate as the first thing you see!

I have to remind myself when he eats his breakfast meat it isn't human (most likely pork).  (At least thus far Dexter has not been eating his victims.)

It's ham.. You see him cut it. He has no reason to eat his victims, he shows no want to eat his victims.

Given that networks nowaday seem to undermine though, I give big props to showtime for the inventive and creepy credits.

    Otherwords, yeah, they rock!

The opening credits are great, very clever and it's so refreshing to see more than just the title of a show.

I actually hope this show gets a soundtrack of some sort, it has a pretty good score.

LOL, I was just telling my hubby last night how much I loved the opening credits! It's so clever - to take everyday, normal, habits/actions and give them a sinister feel. If it were any other TV show, the credits would be b-o-r-i-n-g, but knowing Dex's proclivities, its almost like an "open secret!"

BTW, even though hubby is just as sucked in to Dexter, he hates the opening credits. He's a sci-fi-comedy kind of guy, while I watch forensic shows, Dexter (of course) and horror. That he's just as compelled to watch as I am, says it's an unbelieveably awesome show! : )

That kind of music is prevalent in Florida (where I live) . . . very Cuban! Awesome, too! I get to hear it all the time! : )

Anyone know what type of camera they use to do the close-up shots in the opening credits? The resolution, detail and framerate seem pretty intense.

Sorry if this question has been answered, but I am a newb and couldn't find the info anywhere. Who performs the opening theme music? Anyone know where I can find info on the group or maybe even D/L the theme song for use as my ringtone? Thanks in advance for the info.

quick question is it just me or is Dexter dripping blood into his eggs? I always see something red and I can't help but feel it's blood...but it seems out of place to me. I guess it could be katsup but katsup when you cook the egg??? Any thoughts?

Bet you $50 it's either Tobasco sauce or Cholua. My hubby uses both!! And yes, while he's cooking his eggs!! : )

It's not a group. It's probably a composer, they have it on the credits of each episode. I'll check it out later and see who performs it, but it's not a band like The Who, or Arctic Monkeys, it's gonna be a composer like Danny Elfman or John Williams.

I love the opening credits.  Not only do we see just how much violence is in our daily lives, (while shaving for instance), but we see Dexter's strength, meticulous ways and dexterity.  No pun intended.
