What did you think of the season finale?
hasn't aired yet !
i'd like to see deb hook up with her therapist lol
I hope Deb doesn't end up like Miguel.
other than the last 5 sec, a terrible finale and a terrible season.
I think they been setting up this season, and the last season, for Debra to find out like what happened, and for her to accept him, her story arc of falling for him, or at least realizing this, I think has been building up to her having to decide, maybe next season has her for the first part struggling with it, she doesn't turn him in, but doesn't say she won't, she's strugging with her feelings, her sense of honour and such.
Least my guess.
Except for the final scene the whole episode felt a little anti-climatic, kinda as if they wrote off the episode as a bridge towards the next 2 seasons.
Though I am very happy with the ending and it'll be interesting to see where they go from here. They have 2 seasons so clearly Deb doesn't try to arrest him outright... though poor Deb, her world must be completely shattered. Deb's not an idiot and in fact she's a good detective, she's gotta realize that Dexter has been doing this a looooong time and he's the real bay harbor butcher. So Dexter can't just pass this off as "he took my kid, I took revenge."
Can't wait for next season.
I've never in my life loved and hated a season finale in my life this much. Seriously..I mean I loved everything, even the slow parts, I loved Debra finds out, I hate the it's left on a cliffhanger and 9 months till we find out what happens...:>
Do I have to give a spoiler warning even though this is clearly marked a discussion of the episode that already aired?
Oh well, spoilers ahead...
1) There's no way Deb turns in Dexter. This is the same woman that caught Jordan Chase's killers red-handed last year and let them go without even knowing who they were. This is also the same woman who was going to keep quiet about Chief Matthews and the dead hooker. No way she turns in her brother! If she turns in Dexter it will be so out of character and will make me so mad!
2) I can't wait to see what happens when/if Deb remembers being onBrian's table in Season 1 and realizing that Travis Marshall was set up by Dexter in plastic the same way she was. Will she blame Dexter as being no better or different than ITK? Will she realize that Dexter killed his real brother for her sake and love him that much more? Very interesting to see it play out. Lots of possibilities. I'm really hoping Deb and Dex turn into a crime-fighting team where Deb can turn to Dex to be her hitman to take out trash she can't legally get to.
We shall see next year. Looking forward to it!
As awesome as Debra finding out about Dexter is, I can't help but fear it will change the show too dramatically. I mean, if Debra and Dexter team up, they will be unstoppable. She's the lieutenant of Miami Metro Homicide; if she's allied with Dexter then how the hell are the writers going to generate enough problems to make decent plot-lines? Part of what makes the show so compelling is how close Dexter gets to being discovered all the time.
I loved how he said, "I'm a Father, a Son, a Serial Killer," while making the sing of the cross.

| two words to the final 20 seconds: My God. Glad that Deb's finally found out - I guess most of us would have waited for this moment to come. But in Dexter's 1st book Deb was awake on the table and already found out Dex was a killer at the ending. Let's see how the show will play it out now after 6 seasons... |
So you're saying in the books Deb knows Dexter is a serial killer? WOW!
How do the books handle her knowing this fact? If it is a positive way for Dexter, then I'm glad they are getting the series in line with the books ... after all they should be, IMHO, going in the same direction.
BTW, how does the book handle Dexter and Deb relationship? I mean do the books allow them to become more than non-blood/adopted brother and sister?
I can only say WOW for the season!

hehe....go read the books!!!! they're really good as well.
But yes Deb found out in book one when Brian put her on the table for Dexter to kill. She was unconscious in the series but awake in the book and she heard everything. How did she handle it...well...I didn't read book 2, I jumped to 3 & 4 but of course she's having issues handling her brother is a serial killer throughout the book series. Don't want to spoil too much for ya if you're gonna read the books!
And no the books does not head into the "brother and sister fall in love" direction, since Deb already knows he's a killer.
Minor book spoilers
Yeah, i'm up to book 4 and Rita is still alive so that's still going on, so no Deb/Dex action (thankfully)...
Have to say though that the show is alot better than the books, it's rarely the case but it is with Dexter, book 3 is horrible and goes in a stupid paranormal direction, thankfully the autor seemed to realise his mistake and left the paranormal crap out of book 4.
As far as Deb's reaction to Dex's hobby... in the books she is a bit conflicted about it but accepts it fine somehow. However the Debra from the Tv show is a bit diferent from the one in the books and alot more damaged so her reaction could be completely diferent...
Oh and the serial killer from book 2 is amazing and they should defenetly bring him to the show.
