Dexter discovers more about the Trinity Killer, who's real name is Arthur Mitchell. Not only does he have loving wife and kids, he is also a religious philanthropist. He heads an organization that builds homes for those in need. Dexter poses as a volunteer for the organization to get more info on Arthur.

Dexter does some investigating discovers that Arthur kills his victims just as three of his family members have been murdered. He also takes notes on how he lives as a serial killer and as a successful family man.

Dexter and Rita have been experiencing marital issues. Rita does not trust Dexter and enrolls them into couples' therapy. Deb feels like her life is spiraling out of control. She begins to think that the Trinity Killer is the one that shot at her and Lundy, which puts her on the hunt for Trinity as well and is bad news for Dexter.
