  • Disappointed.

    Make a season 9 when

    Dex find Hanna and Harrison
  • Very disappointed.

I've just finished watching Dexter's finale and I must say I am somewhat bummed. That was a very poor ending in my opinion.

Over the last 4 seasons, the show producers and writers have led us down the trail of Dexter changing from an inhumane killer into a human being with feelings who can finally relate to how others feel.

The ending absolutely denies and negates this change.

Just as Dexter realized that he no longer has a need to kill and can have a normal life with Hannah and Harrison, he ends up abandoning all of it and going into a permanent seclusion. And him throwing Deb in the ocean just like he did the the human trash that he killed, what was that about?

The only conclusion I can draw that either the last 4 seasons were a complete waste of time or the ending is complete wrong.

IMHO he should have ended up in Argentina with Hannah and Harrison and may be even Deb and Quinn.

    Very disappointed.moreless
  • Goodbye,see you never.

I loved watching 8 seasons of Dexter really, even season 8 was great. But the moment that ***Spoilers***

Deb is not so okay anymore and he decides to dump her in the ocean together with all the other trash,I started losing it,how disrespectful! They shouldn't have done that. When Dex sailed into the storm,I got that,He wanted to protect Harrison and Hannah from himself, okay then they should've let him die instead of becoming a fricking lumberjack, kinda dissapointed,Debra should've stayed alive while Dexter should've died when he sailed away...moreless
  • I like how many people didn't like the end...

    8.0
Admittedly, I was hoping Dexters split life would finally get his whole family killed and as a result Harry and his code would die with it. The whole part of season 6 where Brian (Ice Truck Killer) takes the place of Harry seemed like the best way to send Dex off into a final death spiral. Why waste such a great arc on Jonah and a state like Nebraska? I mean, Dex listening to his brother and becoming his primal self until a morphed brand of justice was served, and perhaps getting himself caught or killed in the process... just, seems more fitting.

But I like how it ended... seems most people had their own ending worked out, as I did. What was actually presented was unexpected. An attribute that the series always offered. So as such, I'd say I enjoyed Dexter until the end, but I'd probably only revisit seasons 1,2, and 4 should I ever feel the dark passengers grip tighten.

Bonus points for whomever casted Strahovski (Hannah).moreless
  • Great until the last few minutes.

    8.0
I'd read a lot of negative reviews so I was expecting the bummer of all finales, but actually it wasn't that bad, not until the very last few minutes anyway. Debs died, which was a plus for me, and the true ending should have been Dexter sailing into the storm, viewers could then decide on their own endings. It got totally whacked when it explained that Dexter faked his own death and ran off to Canada to become a lumberjack- WTF? There's no way he'd leave Harrison to a life on the run with Hannah, who'll probably marry a rich guy, kill him and end up on death row, then what would become of his son. Before, there was always Debs to fall back on, but now she's gone Dexter wouldn't leave Harrison with no family.moreless
