  • Last 20 mims

The last 20 mins of the finale really let me down. Contrary to the suspensions and excitement during the series, the finale suddenly went down as if the writer had no idea what had gone before.
  • Brilliant Series

One of the most gripping and engaging series in recent times.

Many people despise the ending, however, in a way it does tie up with the character's progression. Firstly, he does not 'dump' Deb's body into the sea like the trash he kills. They go in trash bags. He gave her a sendoff from one of the last things that bonded them(albeit more for Dex)- Harry's boat. Shortly after he laid her to rest, he rode off into the storm himself. It was never clearly shown how he survived. He may not at that moment had the idea to fake his death but it could have turned out as a result of circumstance.

Dexter becoming more human through the series also relates to the ending of him blaming himself and his actions for the ills and harm his loved ones have faced. Self deprecation is one of the most human sentiments and he sought to punish himself in the worst way- by allowing his loved ones to flourish without him. Hannah had changed once she was with Dex and Harrison, she pulled off her poisoning antics when she was cornered. There was no one to corner her in Argentina where she lived free.moreless

    Make a season 9 when

    Dex find Hanna and Harrison
  • Very disappointed.

I've just finished watching Dexter's finale and I must say I am somewhat bummed. That was a very poor ending in my opinion.

Over the last 4 seasons, the show producers and writers have led us down the trail of Dexter changing from an inhumane killer into a human being with feelings who can finally relate to how others feel.

The ending absolutely denies and negates this change.

Just as Dexter realized that he no longer has a need to kill and can have a normal life with Hannah and Harrison, he ends up abandoning all of it and going into a permanent seclusion. And him throwing Deb in the ocean just like he did the the human trash that he killed, what was that about?

The only conclusion I can draw that either the last 4 seasons were a complete waste of time or the ending is complete wrong.

IMHO he should have ended up in Argentina with Hannah and Harrison and may be even Deb and Quinn.

    Very disappointed.moreless
  • Goodbye,see you never.

I loved watching 8 seasons of Dexter really, even season 8 was great. But the moment that ***Spoilers***

Deb is not so okay anymore and he decides to dump her in the ocean together with all the other trash,I started losing it,how disrespectful! They shouldn't have done that. When Dex sailed into the storm,I got that,He wanted to protect Harrison and Hannah from himself, okay then they should've let him die instead of becoming a fricking lumberjack, kinda dissapointed,Debra should've stayed alive while Dexter should've died when he sailed away...moreless
