This episode was crazy. They definitely made up for that lack of blood in the last episode. I love that Dexter is finally getting his memory back. I have an idea of what happened but I can't wait to see the whole story. The show is coming to close of season so the drama is getting pretty fierce. I felt/feel so bad for Dexter's sister. It must have been hard for her to see her boyfriend spending all that time with Dexter when she was always jealous of his relationship with her father. It seems she is always second best to him. I am so glad my prediction came true, that Dexter would finally take care of the ex. He was getting irritating. It was good to see Dexter lose control for once.

This feels like lead in into the bigger things to come. I mean the whole thing with that memory forgotten what that room resurfaced and how Dexter reacted.

In so many ways, the story is gathering it's power, rising like a storm and it feels like there is not much to go anymore but in some other ways, some part, what was there in early episodes, has little vanished. I cannot say this episode wasn't exciting and catching. I mean, the start was really scary and the way they overplayed it (ala faces of Deb and Doakes when they made the call to bring everyone in) but even that works.. It is something you expect. Maybe they are in story writing so genius that in long, you get used to it.

I liked the episode, the developments.. the storm, for sure, is rising.

Mama loves you, Dexter. Close your eyes. All colors bleed to red.

New Review: Amazing backstory, don't know why I didn't like this episode as much when I watched it the first time. It certainly is one of the best of the first season. Solid, but not worth the hype for me. I think this episode took the relationship between Dexter and Ice Truck Killer to another level. Rudy seems to want to bond with Dexter for some reason. I still cant seem to find Rudys motive behind all of this, but its all coming to an end real fast I would imagine. Dexter and Rita seem to be on the right path once again now that Dexter has taken care of Paul, who I thought was a very solid four to five episode story arch. Even with how dark he is he still brought Rita and Dexter closer then ever before and I hope the writers keep up with that in future episodes. I wonder where Rita is to go next from here, everything seems perfect. And Perfect is never where a character wants to be. I thought the Seeing Red part of the episode was very chilling, but worth the wait to see. I always wondered what happened to the blood and this was a very solid endgame. Overall it was a good episode just not one of the best of Season one for me. Once again - just for the record, this was not a bad episode. Just wasn't the best.

I just started watching this show a few weeks ago. I had some trouble getting into the first few episodes but this episode "Seeing Red" just got me hooked for good. The plot for the entire series really got much better with this episode. I think we learn that the reason Dexter could be a serial killer is that he watched his mother and maybe other family members get murdered with what looks to be a chainsaw. We learned a few episodes ago that Deb's boyfriend is the Ice Truck Killer and this episode just added to that. The killer takes all of his past victims blood and sprays it all over a hotel room for Dexter to find. In the meantime he also tries to kill Angle because he thinks Angel has a lead on him, which he does. Dexter sends Paul back to the pen. How great was him hitting Paul with the frying pan. One of my favorite moments of the entire series so far. If you do not watch this show you should start from the beginning and catch up. It is worth your time.

The Ice Truck Killer is back leaving more clues around in this episode.

Dexter's world is shaken when he is called to the crime scene of a massacre unlike any that he's ever seen before... or so he thinks. But then a series of memories comes streaming back that shock him. Meanwhile, Rita has to hire a lawyer when Paul brings a surprising case against her to take sole custody of their children. Dexter soon take cares of that.

Batista follows a new lead on the Ice Truck Killer case that brings him one step closer to apprehending the sadistic serial killer. The Killer gets to him right at the end of the episode, will Batista make it through?

So much took place in this one episode for Dexter, his sister, Angel, Lt. Laguerta and the Captain. The Ice Truck Killer played them all so well except for Angel.

Angel was on his best game in this episode. Trying to overcome his marriage being over he made the biggest break in the case and almost paid the biggest price. Rudy completely underestimated Angel's desire to survive and fight back. Thank God because Angel is my favorite character next to Dexter.

Wow Rudy did a number on Deb and Dexter in this one. He tore them apart individually and relationship wise. After Dexter confronted his demons in Room 103 I kind of wanted him to go kill someone just to make him self feel better. I just wanted Deb to get over herself. I still find her character quite annoying. Woo Hoo Paul is gone from Rita's life (sort of) and Dexter didn't have to kill him to do it. I loved Dexter losing control a little bit. All in all an action packed episode. Ready for the next one.

This is hands down the best show on television. Nothing else comes close. Not because of the morbid content of Dexter's obsession, but because of the mirror into the essence of every person's animal instincts. In this era we live in of social unconsciousness and the disconnectivity we all experience from our social surroundings, this show reflects the status of our existence. Dexter is a sociopath with a purpose. What a concept. The lack of compassion for his victims is not unlike the lack of compassion we all experience every day on the freeway. Am I right? Will he kill Doakes? Naaaaaaah.
  • Great episode with some important twists as to Dexter's past and the hunt for the real Ice Truck Killer.

    "Superb"
I really liked this episode, not only do you see Dexter become overwhelmed by a crime scene but we get to see some great story lines unravel. First I really got the feeling in this episode that Rudy is simply using Deb to get to Dexter, while at first I thought maybe he was out to kill her now it is more apparent that he really wants a relationship with Dexter not Deb. There is some great interaction between Rudy and Dex that bring the tension level way up.

I really like the way they portrayed Angel in the last two episodes, he really is becoming a great character who you can root for. Too bad he took a knife in the back from Rudy after he started to get close to finding out who the real ITK is. I have to assume he will live.

As much as I dislike Lt. Maria LaGuerta I thought what she did was pretty cool when she directly disobeyed a direct order, bypassed Lt. Lundy and went to the press stating they were re-opening the ITK case. I have grown to like her a little more in that last few episodes. Paul is great at being an **** and in this episode he really started to show his true colors by threating Rita and Dexter and setting the stage for Rita to possibly loose the kids. Have no fear Dexter to the rescue, and while he flirted with the idea of breaking the code of Harry just once he managed to take care of the "Paul situation" and not break the code. The main story line in this episode though is the hotel room with the blood. For a few episodes now we have seen Dex have some sort of flashback to him sitting on the floor in a pool of blood with lots of screaming going on. After Dexter encounters room 103 with copious amounts of blood the flashback gets worse, to the point where Dexter almost passes out. Turns out the blood in the room triggered a repressed memory and Dexter has Rudy to thank here because at the end of the show we finally see what that repressed memory is and learn the painful truth about what happened to Dexter's parents and why Dexter is the way he is. I the thing I find most interesting here is that the ITK really seems to be almost like Dexter's stalker/biggest fan. I get the feeling that everything the ITK had done and is doing is because of Dexter. He is either trying to impress him, or help him, or has some other motive. The fact that Rudy killed his dad and also helped him finally understand what happened to his parents is no accident. What a fantastic and intriguing show.
  • Dexter finally encounters a crime scene that upsets him.

What a great episode. Through flashbacks we and Dexter finally learn something about what happened to Dexter before his adoption and most likely what caused him to be as he is. A blood-covered crime scene, staged by the Ice Truck Killer (aka Rudy) causes Dexter to falter and have flashback to his childhood and his mother and another blood-covered scene.

Rudy is getting scarier every episode. In this episode he seemed ready to kill Angel in his own office and later on actually did try to kill him, but failed (if Angel survives being stabbed in the back, literally).

I hope Debs figures out something is wrong about Rudy, before she becomes his victim...

    "Perfect"
Dexter (re hotel room): "I can't go back in there"

    Deb: "You don't have to".

We've had our fair share of blood on this series and we've also had at least two different reactions from Dexter regarding that also signifies life as well as death but this week, the show has some real fun with the phrase "blood on the walls".

The Ice Truck Killer hasn't been messing with the police and Dexter since it attempted to test out the latter with the corpses of husband/wife tag team Jorge and Valerie Castillo but it doesn't mean that it hasn't been forgetting about Dexter or his lust for kill.

Instead of getting off screen murders, the very ambitious Rudy has become a rather adept boyfriend for Deb and has also been doing his best to become quite the confidant for Dexter but this week its back to reminding the Miami PD that his alter ego is most definitely still at large.

Another hacked up hooker with painted nails or limbs posted in various locations would've been a somewhat obvious signal to the authorities that the ITK is back in business so being rather inventive, the delivery of a jar covered in blood and containing a hotel key 103 is the kind of thing you'd expect in a Stephen King novel so hats for pure cleverness as this shows blends impressiveness and creepiness in equal measures.

However that jar of blood is the least of the cops' problems when Deb and Doakes are given the assignment of having to find what on earth is in Room 103. It doesn't take a genius to figure it isn't going to be a sock collection but even Deb and Doakes (whose dynamic is pretty great here) are shocked by what they find.

When you've got a psychopath like the ITK hacking and slashing his way through Miami and leaving a plethora of cryptic clues, you never know what to expect but an entire room literally covered from head to toe in blood and no bodies lying around is out there even for the man named Rudy.

The first reaction I had was 'who the hell did Rudy slaughter in there – a blooming fraternity?' and judged by their naturally disturbed reactions, I had the feeling that both Deb and Doakes might have had a similar reaction given how vocalised they both made their disgust made by what they had seen.

However there's one person's reaction that I definitely wanted to see and as soon as Dexter made his way to the crime scene, I knew Doakes would throw in a sly dig in regards to the man's fascination with blood. Doakes' snappish behaviour with Dexter might not always be professional but he does have a point. Dexter isn't usually creeped out by blood and that's been an advantage to both of his jobs.

Sadly for him, there's something about this particular scene that ignites a much different reaction. Instead of squealing like fan boy at a convention, Dexter not only lost his nerve around the sight of blood but he freaked out so much, he ended up falling headfirst into it as well.

Now that reaction really did floor me and the way he reacted to the sight did raise a lot of suspicions. This might be the worst thing we've seen as an audience but I get the impression that Dexter has seen (and maybe) been responsible for worse actions, so what was it about this sight that made him queasy? A flashback to a traumatised child would indicate he might've been in this hotel before.

In terms of his team's reaction, Vince was pretty indifferent and Doakes was quick to mention that perhaps Dexter was human after all. Only Deb actually showed some genuine concern for her brother but unfortunately this wouldn't turn out to be something that would bring her and Dexter closer together.

In the past four episodes we've had Dexter and Deb clash with each other over work and personal matter. Deb wasn't exactly best pleased that Dexter managed to quash two theories in regards to the ITK and she got pretty animated when Dexter tried to confirm biology with Joe Driscoll last week, so it's not a stretch then Deb would see Dexter's freak out as an opportunity to build bridges with her older brother.

The thing is that while I can side with Deb, she does have a tendency of pushing the issue of not being close to Dexter a bit too hard and instead of him wanting to open up to her, Dexter opt to shut down yet again.

With Dexter it always seems to be the case of refusing to engage emotionally because he doesn't want to give anyone a hint that he might not be as normal as he wants the world to think he is but not only is he running the risk of alienating people with that stance but by constantly not opening up to Deb, he'll either end up losing her or making Deb suspicious of him in the same way that Doakes is.

He should've tried to at least give Deb something that would've at least thrown her off the track and out of the dog house but by refusing to open up to her, he ended up pissing her off even more.

Unlike Dexter, Rudy seems to balance his duality a little better because he didn't take Deb's side and they ended up fighting, he used the opportunity and the guise of beer and steaks to pick Dexter's brain on Deb, himself, his job and repressed memories. Even better was how he then used his hang time with Dexter to grace himself back into Deb's good books. Rudy's a clever boy and Deb is only a teeny bit gullible. If this was any other show, I'd be calling Deb a court jester but I kinda like her too much to be too critical. Either way, the poor girl is in serious **** and I feel bad for her.

Then there's the flashbacks to the traumatised child, who turns out be a three year old Dexter witnessing much bloodshed in the same hotel (I assume) as his mother does her best to protect him. It's an incredibly scene to sit through and I have to admit to getting chills when watching it.

Rudy meanwhile had his own demons to face when Angel happened to pay him a visit and not one relating to his own medical problems. For Rudy, Angel could've picked a worse time to come sniffing around him.

Yes Angel finally gets put to some decent use following his divorce when on a lad's night out with Masuka, the cop spotted an ex-hooker with an artificial hand and multi-coloured nails and pretty soon the former lady of the night began to spout off about one of her johns.

It's brilliant that stuff from previous episodes are playing a more prominent in the central mystery and the fact that it's Angel who gets a lucky break is good. I got the impression during their chat that Angel had maybe picked up some creepy vibes from Rudy but if he did, he wasn't too vocal about them.

Rudy on the other hand, feeling that Angel posed a threat stabbed him in the car lot and without the help of passers by, would've killed him. Still a fat lip might help in actually joining the dots between him and the ITK. Plus the fact that Masuka was able to help point Angel in Rudy's direction too.

Then the ITK also has the added interest of the public again thanks to LaGuerta. Maria knew well and proper he was still on the loose and despite the Captain devolving into a proper **** over the situation, she put her neck on the line to tell the public that the ITK was being reopened.

Maria's actions are hardly selfless seeing as part of her motives involved getting no credit for previous good work and being belittled by Matthews but I still think she did the right thing and even an angry Matthews has to see that either. You shouldn't conceal the fact that a serious threat is still on the loose. Then again, Maria and Tom should also lay off scoring points from one another and work together but that's not likely to happen just yet.

Speaking of teamwork, anyone else want to help me start a petition to get Paul off this show and fast? As if trying to rape Rita wasn't bad enough, the evil dick then decides to file assault charges against her and because Rita violated a visiting order when she and Dexter went to Joe's house, she also finds herself in danger of losing the kids.

It's a pretty **** up world when a scumbag who shouldn't be on the street, let alone permitted visits to his children like Paul is allowed to get away with a worse crime that what Rita did. Hers wasn't out of maliciousness but Paul's was and a part of me felt as if he was being rewarded.

To further cement Paul's true nastiness, he tried to blackmail Rita into allowing him unsupervised visits and when he got into Dexter's face, he found himself being drugged and thrown back into jail. Dexter really has fallen for Rita and his determination to protect her, Cody and Astor came from the most underhanded of tactics.

It's hard to sympathise with Paul but it's incredibly easy to take absolute pleasure in this guy's misfortune and even though Dexter might have done a morally wrong thing, Paul has been little more than a hindrance and with any luck this will be the last of which we'll have to put with him. Plus Rita wasn't exactly devastated by her ex-husband being behind bars and the drugs Dexter used did belong to Paul. In some ways Dexter speeded up inevitability.

    Also in "Seeing Red"

We're back with the lengthy "Previously On" bits and it's amazing how much has happened in such a time on the series.

Astor: "Are you gonna make out?"

    Dexter: "None of your business"

    Astor: "Are you?"

There was also a Buffy episode called "Seeing Red" and not only did I love that to bits like this episode but it played heavy on the red symbolism.

Doakes (to Dexter): "Something finally got to you. I guess you're human after all"

    Deb: Cut him some slack".

    Masuka: "Come take a look"

Dexter: "Photos, Vince, take lots and lots of photos".

No Harry flashbacks this week and Dexter expressed a little bit of bitterness over the Joe Driscoll thing.

Rudy: "You were the one who said you wanted to talk"

    Deb: "Not when I'm horny".

Rudy (re Deb): "What do I do?"

Dexter: "Tell her it's all your fault".

Rudy told Dexter about the memory of losing his mother during their hang out. Both of them had opposing views on their repressed memories.

Ex-hooker (to Angel): "No way, my john was sexy. A freak but sexy".

Rudy: "I'm afraid I got into this business to help people get better, not to get off"

Angel: "I'm sure your girlfriend will be happy to hear that".

Angel seems to be as much as a fan of Neil Diamond as his estranged wife Nina and Masuka came off as less weird than usual. Plus the ex-hooker's date looked like Paul.

Dexter (re Rita/Paul): "Harry's first rule was don't get emotionally involved. I think this is why".

    Rita: "Where were you?"

    Dexter: "Taking out the trash".

Technically if Neil Perry did decide to sue the precinct, they could always counter sue and it's not like he can avoid jail time anyway given the dirt on him.

LaGuerta: "Nice, Tom, real nice. Your true colours are finally coming out"

Captain Matthews: "Oh no you haven't seen my true colours but you're about to".

Chronology: Two days after "Father Knows Best".

This episode might have overemphasised the notion of "Seeing Red" but damn, this is one hell of an instalment. More on Dexter's traumatic childhood is welcomed and the closer to Rudy being unveiled as the ITK, the better.
  • Now we kindof know why Dexter kills.

This episode was great because of what Dexter did to Paul. I just wanted to reach into that TV and get him myself. I'm glad he didn't kill him, but I laughed when he got bonked over the head with the frying pan. Good for you Dex! I hope Angel is not dead, I'm not reading the spoilers to find out. The Ice Truck Killer had his 'cold one' with Dex atleast. I really felt bad for Dex because of what happended when he was a child. That is awful for a child to go through, and very sad. But know we know why he is into blood. I don't even think he knew. Can't wait till next week.
  • Few series get you so captivated that you just can't stop and want to watch the next episode already! I am trully surprised how well done and written Dexter is. This episode raises the bar on all suspense/criminalistic TV way beyond perfect.

Things start to cook up as the Ice Truck Killer or just plain Rudy gets closer and closer to Dexter. But something completely unespected blasts as a jar of blood comes to the Metro Station on the mail. Inside holds a key to a hotel room wich Deb and Doakes inspect. Inside there is virtualy a river of blood. Once Dexter is in the scene he knows this a sign of his little pal the Ice Truck Killer and not only that, he gets to enter the crime scene all by himself. And this is when the series begins to climb to a climax, it all cooks up so perfectly that it is a real thriller to watch.

Dexter collapses as never before just as he entered the room and got hit by a flock of flashbacks of a terrible event that accured in his past; way before Harry. Rudy knows how just to dig so deep into Dexter's mind and feelings... and it's just way to creepy that he gets to do things like ask Deb how Dexter reacted to the crime scene just when they are about to have sex; or how he pays Dexter a visit to "talk about things", eat Port Houses and drink beer. Just to add some pressure Angel get's a lead as he spots a hooker at at disco that has a prosthetic hand with the nails painted just as the Ice Truck Killer's mode and actually goes to Rudy for some expert advise. Plus Rita's problems get to Dexter to the point that he decides to put matter into his own hands, just not the way we would expect of Dexter's. I say a perfect 10 for this episode for the perfect writing, acting and overal setting.
  • Things get interesting.

Just when you thought Dexter has no feelings, it turns out, he does.

Rudy sets up an unique crime scene for Dexter. A crime scene that shall make Dexter remember... to something. But what it is? Well, that\'s something Dexter -and the viewers- can only guess... for now.

The crime scene shows a room full of blood, about 5 victim\'s blood - blood of Rudy\'s previous victims. The room is set up so that it would be almost identical to what happened before Harry found Dexter- a room full of blood, a mass execution with chainsaw. Dexter witnessed this. Her mother was executed infront of him by a chainsaw.

The episode shows that Dexter has feelings afterall. Subplot this time focuses mostly on Rita and Paul.Unfortunately, the law system is flawed, and Paul finds the exploit. Since Rita invited Paul into her bedroom, and she hit Paul with a baseball bat...most things point the fact that Rita assaulted Paul-so Dexter, obviously, tries to find a solution. And since this solution can\'t be found a legal way, he tries... well, his own solution. This clever one gets Paul into prison.

Overally, the episode carries alot of potential. Great character development for everyone. For Dexter, because he has feelings, and now we are starting to understand why he became an empty monster. For Paul, because even though he\'s a wife beating, drug addicted bastard, he still cares about his children. The violence wasn\'t bad, only if you can\'t stand the blood, I don\'t recommend the episode.

this is by far the best episode of dexter so far, it was an amazing episode discovering the flashbacks of dexter as a child and finding out why he really is the way he is. also the way he reacted to the blood was quite surprising as he is a blood specialist, but the again not really considering how is mother was murdered. the ice truck killer is still playing with dexter and it is geting more intresting by the day. i was in complete stitches when dexter hit paul with the frying pan, the look on dexters face was priceless. paul did eventually get what he deserved though, i hope things start to look up for rita.
  • This episode is a turning point in the series which was both informative and emotional.

This episode deals with a lot of emotions Dexter is haunted by past memories, Deb is distraught that Dexter won’t open up to her about how he feels, Rita is afraid of losing custody of her children to Paul, and Rudy is curious to learn more about Dexter. This week’s case begins when a jar of blood is sent to the police station containing a key to a room at a local hotel. When Deb and Doakes go to investigate they find what appears to be a crime scene. The room is covered in blood upon arriving Dexter discovers that there are no bodies only a massive about of blood. While in the room Dexter has a flashback of a young boy around the age of four which appears to be himself sitting in a pool of blood crying for his mother which causes him to momentarily faint and fall in the blood covering the hotel room. After exiting the hotel Dexter is confronted by Deb asking him what happened. Dexter says he fell before telling Doakes he cannot return to the room. In the mean time Rita is working when a police officer approaches her and says Paul is pressing charges against her for assault. While at the police station Rita calls Dexter upset that if she is charged that she could lose custody of the kids. Dexter calms Rita down by telling her he knows a lawyer that can help her. After work Deb meets up with Rudy and tells him about her day she says she is worried that Dexter won’t open up to her. Debra becomes angry when Rudy is more interested in Dexter’s wellbeing than sleeping with her. The next night Rudy goes to Dexter for help on getting Deb to forgive him. When Dexter asks Rudy if he knows anything about suppressed memories Dexter learns that when Rudy was younger he saw his mother being hit by a car and dying. Angel visits Rudy asking what he knows about amputee fetishes and Rudy feels he is getting to close to discovering his secret. Later that night Angel is attacked by a masked man in a parking lot and stabs him in the abdomen, the masked man is assumed to be Rudy.

Paul comes to drop off Aster and Cody and Cody asks Rita is Paul can stay and read him a Bedtime story. While Rita is getting the kids ready for bed Paul is talking to Dexter in the kitchen when Dexter becomes angry he hit Paul in the head with a frying pan and puts his body in the truck of Paul’s car and parks it in front of the neighbors house. When Rita asked Dexter about Paul he said he heard the front door close while he was taking out the garbage. Rudy goes to see Deb at the police station and brings her white roses, which are her favorite. When Deb says he is too late Rudy tells her he loves her and Deb says he loves him too. Dexter takes Paul home and drugs him and leaves the needle in his arm when the police arrive and find Paul passed out with a needle in his arm they arrest him. After setting up Paul Dexter returns to the hotel room hoping to remember more of his flashback. In Dexter flashback he sees his mother being murder in a chainsaw massacre.

This episode was amazing but very graphic. The more answers we get the more questions we are left with.
  • I wouldn't recommend this episode for everyone. The ending is truly amazing but also graphic.

Easily the best episode, the connection between ice truck and dexter is getting really high. I'm kind of sad cause they started to make the ice truck seem like a good guy, but in this episode we see that he kills just to kill. He's not like dexter who kills for justice. This episode has the best ending so far, makes you feel really weird, and know why dexter is who he is. I'll like to know who is the man doing it. You can tell from this episode that ice truck killer will be soon over, and dexter will soon open up to his sister. It's too bad cause the connection between dexter and ice truck was really there, you can tell that they could have took it real far. Can't wait for the last 2 episodes.
  • This show is getting scarier as Dexter discovers more about his past. For evryone.

I'm afraid of having nightmares after watching this show now. Rudy is one creepy SOB. I'm suprised Debra, or even Dex aren't able to see that. This guy is good. Angel scared him though. Scared him enough to want to kill him. Which I thought was weird because Angel didn't have a clue that he was on the right track. I think he would have givin up on that whole amputee fetish thing. Looks like the Ice Truck Killer made his first mistake.

Dexter's pre-Morgan past is starting to surface, and it's absolutely horrifying. Apparantly Dexter's mother was the victim of a chainsaw massacre that took place right in front of Dexter. Dexter looked like he might have been about four years old, so this traumatic event distorted his memory to the point that he could not remember it. The Ice Truck Killer remembers, and is going to make Dexter remember. Isn't it weird how Dexter's mother looks like Rita?

There's only two episodes left until we have to wait for season two, and I can't believe it. I havn't missed an episode, and yet it feels like this show is just getting started. I'm hoping that there is a little bit of closure before season two. Who the hell is Rudy??!!!

So I feel very sorry for Deb. She is falling for Rudy and he is just using her as a way to get near Dex. You can tell she isn’t one to give her heart easily and when she finds out the truth it is going to shatter her. I also like that Dex is starting to have some feeling towards Rita. When he smashed Paul in the head with a frying pan he admitted that he got emotionally involved. Glad that he got his senses together and didn’t kill him, just took care of the problem. Maybe he will realize that he can keep having feelings towards Rita, that they are “normal” like he is always pretending to be. I think that the Lt. has dug herself a nice little hole and I have no idea how she is going to get out of it this time. I hope that Angel is ok…seems from the previews that he is well and he knows that he hurt his attacker some. Doakes is being his usual jerk self when it comes to Dexter and blood.
  • A gut-wrenching episode with alot of answers and questions.

This had to be the best episode of the season so far IMHO. It was exciting as well as informative and it was extremely emotional. A jar of blood is sent to the precinct with a hotel room key which leads to a graphic scene at a hotel all staged to get a gut reaction from Dexter, and it does. Dexter who is usually so calm, unemotional is reduced to a quivering, sweaty, pale mass of confusion and dread. Where as the ITK wants Dex to face his repressed memories, all Dex wants to do is make them go away. Deb and Rudy are at odds because Rudy is showing more interest in Dex than her, and she is angry at Dex because he will talk to Rudy but not her. Angel makes a discovery at a local night spot that results in him talking to Rudy and this escalates into his assault by the ITK. Paul is finally dealt with in a way that Dex can live with and Harry would approve of and lets Rita off the hook. The last few moments of this episode put a lump in my throat and brought tears to my eyes, it is such an emotional scene that it induces a physical response. Michael C. Hall is brilliant. This show is about more than just serial killings and killers, it does have the human aspect and great writing and acting by a perfect cast. Kudos Showtime! I am hoping an emmy nod will come later. Sorry didnt mean to submit this twice tv.com went freakazoid when i submitted it.:o
