A local crime writer Sal Price attracted to Debra and she used this to get info on Hannah McKay. But Dexter is already planning to kill Hannah. Quin gets an strange offer and Batista wants to retire and open a restaurant. Meanwhile, LaGuerta is near getting new evidence in the Bay Harbor Butcher case.

Deb discovers that LaGuerta sent some forensic evidence to an outside lab. LaGuerta confides in Deb that she found Dex's blood slide and is convinced that the Bay Harbor Butcher is still active and Doakes was innocent. Deb offers to help LaGuerta, so that she can steer theinvestigationaway from Dexter ifnecessary. Dexter discovers blood on his boat and finds out that Isaak is after him. Hannah McKay is back to help find some of the victims from the killing spree. Dexter finds something interesting while studying one of the unearthed bodies.

Deb and the police catch Ray Speltzer. They work him and get a confession. After a video of Ray's arrest reveals that the officers did not properly Mirandize him, they are forced to let him go. Dexter realizes that this is his chance to take Ray out in his own special way. Dexter realizes that some things have to change if he can continue to keep himself separate from guys like Ray. The strip club is still being raided and Isaak has had enough. He decides to give the police what they want, even if it means framing an innocent man.
