Dexter's mom opens the window when she notices the yard is different, but in the next scene the window is closed.
Dexter's mouth is watering when Mom comes in with the vegetables, but doesn't Dexter hate vegetables, like in "Hunger Strikes"?
When Dee Dee pours all the hormone stuff into the plant, it magically refills itself. You can see this happen many times in the episode.
Mackerels can't speak English very well.
(Dexter's alarm goes crazy and makes a loud high piched alarm sound) Dexter: I got to fix that.
Dee Dee: What's a mackerel? Mackerel: I'M A MACKEREL! NOW GET ME OUT OF THIS MAYONNAISE JAR! Dexter: Don't mind him, he's always like that.
Dad: (stuck in the ground like a plant and speaking ala Audrey II) Feed me! Feed me! Feed me...
Mom: Don't worry, honey! Lunch will be ready... (plant crashes through the window and drinks all the peanut butter) ... As soon as the pizza delivery guy gets here.
Dee Dee: Thanks for coming to my tea party, Mr. Caterpillar! And here's the last drop of tea.
Gater-Car: Gotta rest. Gotta find a dentist.
There are a lot of references to Little Shop of Horrors in this episode, most notably how Dexter's dad, who is buried to the chin in the yard, says, "Feed me," in homage to the plant, Audrey II.
