Growing up Mr. Van Dyke was heavily influenced by his big screen idol Stan Laurel from the silent film era comedy duo "Laurel & Hardy", which inspired him to go into show business. After appearing in high school plays and community theater productions in his youth, he enlisted in the US Air Force. Due to being very under weight, he had to try 3 times before being accepted. Dick Van Dyke didn't see any action, instead was a radio DJ for the Army Air Corps. and never left the US. After some local comedy shows in Atlanta and New Orleans, he signed on with CBS in 1956. He did some game show work, and debuted his acting talents in an episode of "The Phil Silvers Show". He left CBS for Broadway and starred in "Bye-Bye Birdie" which won him a Tony Award. Carl Reiner, saw him in the play and signed him up for the lead role of Robert Petrie in the "The Dick Van Dyke Show". He won critical acclaim for his roles in the TV movies, "The Comic" and "The Morning After", the latter a highly acclaimed drama about an alcoholic businessman, which was close to the heart for the recently recovered alcoholic Dick Van Dyke. Dick Van Dyke would find the late 70's to the 80's lean years, until he found a new niche, as the wily and crafty mystery detective, Dr. Mark Slone on "Diagnosis Murder" which ran successfully from 1993 to 2001moreless

"Okay, Boys, gimme some room-- Momma's gonna have herself some fun!" Musetta said, playing the infamous Lash in the sci-fi classic "Oblivion"; and indeed, Musetta always seems to be having fun when she is acting.

As a native South African Musetta was raised without television, trips to the drive-in introduced her to the world of movies.

Musetta began her career as a professional dancer. After completing a BA in Communications and Psychology, she landed herself the plum job as anchor host for an MTV-like television show called Telemusik in her native South Africa. Although this was her first show as on-camera hostess, her early childhood was filled with both on- and off-camera performances in theater and television. Being the daughter of a ballet teacher/opera singing mother, her first appearance on stage was at age 4 in one of the many shows her mother choreographed.

Musetta is a qualified ballet teacher herself. After being spotted on-camera by future husband (director Jeff Celentano) during a visit to South Africa, she ended up exactly where she had always dreamed of being- Hollywood. She and Celetano married in 1988, and shortly after her arrival in the US she became part of the very world she used to host, except this time as the desirable girl in various music videos for artists including Rod Stewart, Tina Turner, Elton John and Chris Isaak to name but a few.

Altogether she has graced 21 music videos for top artists. The transition to the big screen shortly followed and in her first feature she played a Russian scientist opposite Bill Paxton, Lou Gossett Jr. and John Hurt. Numerous other projects followed. Among her most memorable roles were the humorless weapons expert "Munitia" in Warner Brothers "Wild Wild West" (1999), Ella Baines, the mother of the comatose boy in New Line Cinema's dark thriller "The Cell" (2000), and as the seductive Siren in the smash hit from the Coen Brothers "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" (2000).

Musetta also added a few television credits to her list, including guest appearances in Stargate Sg-1, Frasier and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

She can currently be seen playing legendary Robert Duvall's wife Janice, in Will Ferrell's summer comedy Kicking & Screaming.moreless
