  • Excellent comedy episode!

    9.9
Diagnosis Murder is generally a funny show (despite all the murders!) but I love it when Diagnosis Murder does a full-on comedy episode. Frontier Dad is one such of these. It has all the elements that make it a great episode – as well as comedy, there is some emotion as Amanda struggles to work out what is worrying her adopted son Dion, lots of action, Steve undercover, and all of the main characters get their share of screen time. There are also more than the standard three murder suspects, which makes it harder to work out who might be the culprit. The episode is also notable for being one of the ones where the whole Van Dyke family are rolled out and many of Barry’s children also star. Unlike other episodes where this happens and it feels like the plot has been written around them, they all seem to work well in this episode and I didn’t realise until the credits how many of them had been present. I laughed the whole way through this episode – Steve was particularly hilarious in his undercover role as a stuntman (he was terrible!). Overall highly recommended.moreless
