Diarmuid's Big Adventure

Show Summary

Diarmuid's Big Adventure is a home and garden reality show focusing on the life of a celebrity Irish gardener. The British Broadcasting Company invades three months of Diarmuid Gavin's life to show viewers how a professional gardener prepares for a national event. With the 2004 Chelsea Flower Show just around the corner, Gavin must design and prepare a show garden while dealing with his own personal problems. The BBC starts the season with a look at Gavin struggling to come up with an original design. The gardener then sets off looking for sponsors, which is no easy task, as he needs to come with ¬£250,000 in a hurry. By mid-season, Gavin finds his way to the event by telling a few white lies to officials and occasionally heading off to Ireland for a beer to ease his stress. The season ends with Gavin rushing to get his display in order. Things get stressful when the judges turn the corner, and Gavin is still making his preparations.
