  • TK and Kari find the digieggs of hope and light and Ken is introduced.

I thought that this episode was very important for two things. First, the digimon emperor's true identity is revealed. He turns out to be a kid genius named Ken Ichijouji. This confirms the digidestined's belief that he is also just a kid and that he is not some created data(like previous digimon villains.) Second, this episode officially recognizes TK and Kari as part of new digidestined team when they find their digieggs and their old digivices transform into D3s. All in all this was another great episode from season 2 and makes the viewers wanting more!moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (8)

    • Pegasusmon uses his Wind Mane attack, but calls it "Star Shower."

    • When Yolei checks the computer to see if the Digital Gate is open, she says "It's open!" before she checks. Also, the Digital Gate is shown to be closed, signified by the red screen.

    • Nefertimon uses her Queen's Paw attack on the Tyrannomon, but calls it "Rosetta Stone".

    • Since Gatomon is a Champion, when she Digivolves using DigiArmor Eggs, Nefertimon would actually be an Ultimate level Digimon, stronger than the rest, however she is treated as a Champion.

    • When Patamon and Gatomon Armor Digivolve, TK and Kari didn't need to say Digi-Armor Energize.

    • Japanese Version Goof: How did Patamon and Tailmon (Gatomon) start to armor shinka without Takeru and Hikari saying "Digimental Up!" first?

    • T.K. said Davis was holding his (T.K.'s) hand, when T.K. was a few feet behind Davis.

    • Dumb Dub Joke: Kari is disappointed with her photo, saying the Tyrannomon all have red-eye, then laughing because "they always have red eyes." Except they don't - Tyrannomon eyes are blue.

  • QUOTES (9)

    • Upamon (as he drinks one of the drinks Yolei bought): Delicious! This is the best thing I've ever eaten in my whole life, all two days of it!

    • Digimon Emperor: You think you can beat me with a little addition? (summons more Tyrannomon) How do you like multiplication?

    • Ken: This world and everything in it belongs to me. Now all of you, get out!
Davis: The landlord told my uncle the same thing!

    • (The three In-Training Digimon dance around happily as they eat while Gatomon watches with a somewhat disturbed look)
Gatomon: I hope my first litter doesn't act like this.

    • Kari: Nefertimon, you're beautiful, but the best part is, now that you can fly, we don't have to walk anymore.
Nefertimon: Well, don't get too excited. These wings aren't broken in yet.

    • Davis: Here, Kari, I'll hold your hand so you don't get scared.
      Kari: I'm not scared!
TK: And it's not her hand, it's mine!
      Davis: Oh, sorry, TJ.
Kari: And that's not his name, it's TK!

    • Yolei: (referring to Ken) I know more about the Digital World than that stupid kid!
Davis: He may be stupid, but he's still a genius.

    • Patamon: Shh, I hear someone coming.
      DemiVeemon: Smells like Davis.
Davis: Are you saying I stink?
      DemiVeemon: It is Davis!

    • Patamon (after landing on Gatomon): I thought that cats are always supposed to land on their feet.
      Gatomon: Oh, shut up.

  • NOTES (7)

  • ALLUSIONS (4)

    • Season 1, Episode 1: Near the end, we see the 3 floored digimon, Daisuke and Miyako (Davis and Yolei), cornered at the edge of a cliff, by Evil Digimon. This scene is almost similar to one of the last scenes of the very first episode.

    • Digimon Emperor: You know the old saying: It's not how you play the game, it's whether you win or lose.

This is the reverse of the old saying, "It's not whether you win or lose, it's how you play the game.

    • Name/Appearance: Pegasusmon
Pegasusmon is based off the Greek mythological beast Pegasus, a white, winged horse.

    • Notice that Nefertimon is similar in many ways to Egyptian references. First, Notice that Nefertimon's body is similar to that of the Sphinx, a Greek Mythology monster. And the name was taken from an Egyptian queen, Nefertiti. Her attack "Rosetta stone" is based on the Ancient Egyptian artifact which was key in the advance of modern understanding of hieroglyphic writing.
