Digimon: Digital Monsters

Season 2 Episode 43

Digimon World Tour (3)

Aired Tuesday 9:00 PM Apr 21, 2001 on TV Asahi

  • Trivia

    • Dub Goof: Ken Mistranslated the word "Gusano." "Gusano" doesn't mean "Fish bait" it means "Worm"

    • Why should Sora worry about what Tai thinks if she doesn't care about what anyone else thinks, not even Matt? Unless she likes him more, now that's another love triangle.

  • Quotes

    • Yolei: Please tell me it's lunchtime!
Sora: Or dinner, or breakfast, I don't care!
Hawkmon: I'm going to have seconds and thirds even before I've had my firsts!
      Biyomon: Me too!

    • Jose (about Dokugumon and Minotarumon): We need a way to get them outside.
Matt: Outside, huh? We can do that.
Jose: Be careful. (Matt and Gabumon walk up to the Digimon)
Matt (to Minotarumon): Is that a ring in your nose, or an allergic reaction? (The Digimon give chase)
Jose: They are good at this.
      Ken: They practise.

    • Wormmon: It's not fair. She could at least insult me in a language I can understand!

    • Sora & Yolei: Imperialdramon!
Imperialdramon: Who are you expecting, Santa Claus?

    • Rosa: So Ken, do you have a girlfriend? If you don't, maybe you could move here! Then I could be your girlfriend! Don't you think I'm cute?
Wormmon: Who does she think she is?
José: I don't think that is what matters. What matters is what she wants to be. Just call her Rosa Ichijouji!
Gabumon: Wormmon would rather bite off his own tongue than call her that!

    • Rosa: Amite!
      Wormmon: What-did-she-say?
Rosa: I'm so scared, would you hold my hand?(She grabs Ken's hand.)
Wormmon: What does she think she's doing?
Gabumon: I don't know what she said but it's pretty clear what she's doing.
      Wormmon: Ken? Ken?
(Rosa and Ken trip over him.)
Wormmon: You're a rude little girl!
      Rosa: I'm what?
Matt: Calm down guys, there's no need for an international incident here, there's enough of Ken to go around!

    • Wormmon: Sometimes I'm so smart it scares me.
Gabumon: Sometimes you scare me too, but I think it's for a different reason.

    • Wormmon: Ken, what did that guard back there say to make you so angry?
      Ken: He...called me a punk.
Wormmon: There was a time when that would've been a compliment.
      Ken: Yeah, I guess so.
      Matt: Times have changed!
      Gabumon: Yeah, for the better!

    • Sora(crying): But Yuri was going to take us to dinner.

      Matt: Yuri!?

    • Matt: Hey Ken, what did Rosa call Wormmon?
      Ken: Fish bait.
Matt: I guess we're not going to tell him that!

  • Notes

    • Japanese Title: "Love and Borscht, The Fierce Fight!"

    • A scene from the original Japenese version was edited out, after Matt & Ken meet the guard, he points a gun at the two boys while giving off a nasty grin.

    • Rosa's Gatsomon is the only international digidestined partner digimon for which we see the full digivolution sequence (into Monochromon). Come close was Betamon digivolving to Seadramon in The Samurai of Sincerity where we saw the star of the sequence but not the full thing.

    • Minotarumon and Dokugumon were the only Digimon in Mexico while a swarm of Flymon were in Russia and a herd of Mammothmon were in Siberia.

    • We get an Introduction to the Russian Digi-Destined. Anna has Unimon, Sonya has Snimon, and Yuri has Kuwagamon. The unnamed Digi-Destined of Siberia (which is the northern part of Russia) have multiple Frigimon.

    • We get an Introduction of Rosa, the only Mexican Digi-Destined who was seen. Her partner is Gotsumon and he can turn into Monochromon. The rest of the Mexican Digi-Destined are unseen, but are known to exist.

    • Looks like boy genius(Ken) is back, because he understands what Rosa is saying.

    • The Minotarumon in this episode is an Ultimate Level, much powerful than the Champion Level Minotarumon from "United We Stand (1)."

    • This is the last episode that Digimon veterans Jeff Nimoy and Bob Buchholz were involved with - during recording of the episode, they left the show, unhappy with some unspecified decisions that had been made regarding it.

    • Rosa's original Japanese name was Chichos.
