  • While I never give a show a perfect score (you know because nothing's perfect) This wasDEFINITELYone of the gems of the series and I'm gonna explain why.

First don't kill me, Kari is one of my favorite characters. She's kind, adorable, not stupid, has a kick ass voice actress, but having said that I believe she never goes through much great characterdevelopment in the whole digimon series. in fact I think sheexistsmostly just to helpdevelopother characters. Tai especially, and you really see that in this episode.

Tai has beenaccusedof being a little cold during the dark masters saga, saying to just keep moving forward when the others want a moment to just catch their breaths and mourn theirfallenallies. Well pushing them too hard could havepossiblecontributed to Kari getting sick which lead to Tai becoming obsessive trying to fix things which then leads to one of the most touching moments of the series. He breaks down andadmits to why he gets so obsessive to fixing bad situations his whole life. He is haunted by a mistake that almost killed his sister a long time ago. This wasamongthe most touching moments of the show and really gave you a good look as to why Tai is the person he is.

He's not the only one who we see that has developed over time. At thebeginningof the show Izzy was the character who washappiestaway from the group. He was good with technology not people but over the course of the series he really learns to come through for the team on anemotionallevel too. When Tai broke down in front of him, Izzy didn't shy away, he helped him and gave him emotional support. He was no longer the kid who didn't know what to do around people in this episode.

And finally i want to talk about thevillain. Machindramon is my favorite dark master, and I wish we got to see more than two episodes of him. He was a really scary and intimidating bad guy, who was all business and wanting to kill the digidestined without fooling around.

To sum things up. This was a near perfect episode and I completelyrecommendit to any fan of the series.moreless
  • This episode is base on Tai and Kari and I rembmer watching this when I was little.

Kari get sick and Tai. Soar and TK look after Kari when Izzy and Tai go and look for the medintion. When looking they get attact by evil digimon. Tai brak down crying tell Izzy and thire digimon that when he was little he took Kari outside and Kari almost die and his mum slap him for it and Tai blamb himself for it. This season of digimon was good because it show human feeling well I think.

I love Tai and Kari relashtion and I feel sorry for Tai who still blambs himself. If you love Tai and Kari this epiosde is for youmoreless
  • This was the saddest episode of digimon I've ever seen. It was also one of the best of any season.

Tai acts way out of character in this episode. I don't he acted this way in any other episode. If the digimon weren't in this episode and it was just the kids, I swear it would look just like something on Adult Swim. The emotions were very high as Tai revealed the truth behind his actions. It wasn't the fact that Kari almost died that got to me. It was when she said,"I'm sorry I can't kick the ball very good. You'll probably never want to play with me again." I almost cried right there. She didn't even care about herself. She could have hated her brother from that point on. The tears were coming. Then I realized that's why they share such a strong bond. Great episode for siblings everywhere.moreless
  • It starts with the Digidestion walking down a desert road and swiths back in forth between that and Kari Coughing. Than Kari falls and Gotamon run back to her. Next you see them all at a buss stop with Kari laying on a bench under in the shad.moreless

This episode was the best episode in the season. It made you cry like a baby. To see how much Tai cares about Kari it is just so heart jerking it makes you want to cry. But at some parts it is also exciting how many times Tai and Izzy had to find a new place to hook up to the web and how (being Boys) they couldn't figure out how machinedermon kept on finding them. But when they did figure out Izzy come up with an awesome plan to fool the digimon. So if you were going to record an episode this would be the onemoreless
  • The unedited version was better before those evil Disney executives hacked it up.

It starts out with the gang walking, and Kari gets sick. So they travel to a deserted mix n match city, which is run by Machinedramon. The metallic mutant summons MegaDramon and GigaDramon to destroy the city. The scene of them leveling the city is cut out, unfortunately. Then it gets dramatic, because Tai breaks down and cries that Kari almost died before, and he blamed himself. (Sob) Anyhow, then they attempt to get back to Kari, T.K., and Sora. When they do, they are blown to the sewers by Machinedramon. Yet another scene that is cut out. But enough of my complaining. This is a star episode of the season, because of the destruction and drama. A lethal combination.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (3)

    • When the Hagurumon track Izzy's computer when he accesses the network for the second time in an office building, the Hagurumon claim that he is in section B-17, in the left corner of the digital city map display in Machinedramon's base. However, when the machine Digimon later receive the order to destroy the entire city, the Hagurumon claim that sections A and B were the first to be destroyed, but those sections are located on the right side of the map so Tai and Izzy's initial location was labeled incorrectly.

    • Tentomon refers to Megadramon as "fully Digivolved", despite the fact that he's only at the Ultimate level. However, in episodes prior to the introduction of the Dark Masters and Mega level Digimon, an Ultimate level Digimon was referred to as a "fully Digivolved" Digimon, so this is simply outdated.

    • Tai doesn't recognise the Mekanorimon, despite previously seeing them in "The Ultimate Clash".

  • QUOTES (8)

    • Hagurumon #1: Um, boss, there are now dozens of access points, all over the map!
Hagurumon #2: Does this mean what I think it does, my lord, sir?
Machinedramon: That you have the brains of a tin can?

    • (Tai, Izzy, and the Digimon come out of the hospital, only to be surrounded by Mekanorimon.)
Tai: It's a good thing we're at a hospital, because it looks like we might need one.

    • Machinedramon: (After the DigiDestined flee to the building) That's right. Scurry away. (Charges His Cannons.) Ask any red catcher- the chase is part of the fun. Giga Cannon!!! (The building tilts and begins to collapse) Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha. Nothing like a little wholesale destruction to end a hard day's work. Goodbye, DigiDestined.

    • Kabuterimon: You wanted civilisation; Well it doesn't get more civilised than this!

    • Machinedramon: Can't rely on scrap metal if you want the job done...
      Tai: Everyone, take cover!
Machinedramon: That's right, scurry away. Ask any good rat-catcher; The chase is part of the fun.

    • Izzy: Strange as it sounds, i wish Joe were here. He might know whats in these bottles; His father's a doctor.
Tai: Thats a doctor's kid for ya; Theres never one around when you need 'em!

    • Megadramon: Can I blow something up?!
Gigadramon: I don't know; Can you?

    • Machinedramon: I'm bored with this game of cat and mouse. Initiate plan "Eliman-8"!!
Hagurumon: Uh, "Eliman-8"! How 'bout "Elima-9"?
Machinedramon: Are you actually questioning me? Initiate plan "Eliman-8"!
      Hagurumon: No, sir! Yes, sir!

  • NOTES (10)

    • Tai: It's like that theme park in Florida.

Tai says this when the gang is flying over the area where it looks like different countries are mixed together. The theme park he's referring to is the Disney theme park, Epcot, which has an area that explores the different cultures of the world known as World Showcase.
