  • Quotes

    • Trina Davis: What about some vegetable hors d'oeuvres?
Michael Symon: I don't like people that like vegetables. (laughs) I'm just kidding. Well, actually, I'm not. (voiceover) Hey man, I am all about the pork. I just don't get why you'd want a vegetable, unless you wrap it in bacon. But I guess that's why they call this a challenge.

    • Parts of this episode were filmed on location at Alcatraz. Alcatraz Island is located in San Francisco Bay, California. Better known as "The Rock," Alcatraz was a maximum security federal penitentiary from 1934 to 1963. Alcatraz was America's toughest prison, and during its 29 years of operation the penitentiary claimed that no prisoners ever successfully escaped. Today it is part of the United States National Park System.

    • This episode was the "official" premiere of season five. It was paired with a rerun of the "Boardwalk" episode that had aired as a sneak peek a month earlier on July 20, 2008. The network also suspended the regularly scheduled rerun of an Iron Chef America episode in the immediately preceding 6 pm timeslot to rerun the finale of the Next Iron Chef, "Attain Greatness," where Symon won the title.
