A cosmic calamity wrecks the Sinclairs' TV, which is fine by Fran, but Earl, hoping to win a new set, has the bright idea to have them appear on the game show "Family Challenge" to maybe win a new one.
Earl: When you're a little older Charlene, perhaps you'll realize family is all you really have in the world and all you really need.
Ethyl: I've come to be on the game show.
Earl: Who needs you?
Fran: Grandma Ethyl is part of the family.
Earl: She's the annoying part of the family Fran.
Edit
Robbie: I'm a little confused about the nature of reality.
Earl: No kidding?
Robbie: Like if a tree falls in the forest and nobody is around to see it or hear it, did it actually fall?
Fran: Ooh! Now that is intriguing. Who can build on that?
(Earl gets up from the dinner table and walks out of the room)Fran: Where are you going?
Earl: I'm going to see if the tree fell. I'll be back in a couple of days.
Edit
Fran: So Earl, how was your day?
Earl: Yes dear, whatever you say.
Fran: So kids, what's new in school?
Robbie: Sure Mom.
Charlene: I'll get to it.
(Fran sighs)Edit
Sports Illustrated:
When Earl is in the Tiki Lounge, there is a commercial on for Dinosaur Sports magazine, each subscription comes with a free Rok-Fone.
The logo is very similar to Sports Illustrated Magazine, as well as the idea of concealing a phone in something as a free giveaway.
