Do any of you have one of the jobs Mike did on the show? I can't think of anything I've done at the moment, probably working with fish and tubs of seawater on boat decks (marine research). Everything gets sticky and crusty.

Just household things like scrubbing toilets, ant trails and swarms or fleas, picking up bodily byproducts of the pets, and dealing with big diaper explosions.

    no wait, now I remember.

The worst was when my toddler did a number two in the bath, but my wife didn't empty out the tub. An hour or two later, the solids dissipated and got over everything, like a large toilet! EWWWWW!!! After that, no other diaper explosions phase me.

Cleaning the bottom pit of a grain elevator. Over the winter the pit fills up with snow run-off and the grain which is left in the pit. The two mold and ferment causing a sweet stink so strong it will intoxicate you after 15 minutes. My brother and I took turns in the pit filling up a 5 gallon bucket and the other pulls it up and out the 20 foot deep pit, and occassionally the bucket spills and dumps on the person in the pit. Our mother made us strip down in the garage before she let us in the house.

This isnt the dirtiest job I've ever done but it compares to the chick sexing episode as we run a hatchery here and I probably sex 10,000 birds a season myself.

When I was a kid I had a job where I had to harvest worms that where growning in rabbit dung for a bait shop. By the way I have to dig the warms with my bare hands. It was very discusting, now that I think about it, but as a 12 year-old it wasn't so bad.

I have done several of the jobs on the show( yeah I know its sad). I was a laborer and truck driver at a recycling plant which is mostly picking the garbage people through in the recycling bins out of the recyclables. I worked at a kennel cleaning up after the animals. I also have done concrete slab work which is hard and ditry.

A few years ago I housesat for some friends who lived on a farm. For about a week, I fed, watered, and cleaned up after nearly every farm-type animal there is: chickens, ducks, rabbits, pigs, cats, dogs, and even a couple of mules. This was in the middle of summer in Texas and I was taking a shower after every morning and then evening feeding times. It wasn't bad work and I admire those who do it day in and day out, just tiresome and really, really hot.

I used to work at a daycare center; every bodily function you can think of took place within those walls. As much as I like kids, let's face it, they are gross.

I have been a ride operator in two theme parks, most of the time you only get a little dirty. But there was never a day that i didn't get spat on, peed on by younder kids, had some days where had to clean pee or poo off rides, but on teh worst days had to clean puke off rides and or loading/off load ramps. not just any rides, I worked the "Big" rides most days, the coasters, the hi dive rides, and the worst for puke - the scrambler, tilt-a-whirl, and super wheel (the one where you stand against the wall, the ride spins, and you get stuck to the wall). at the first park we only got a rag and bucket to clean with, in the second park we got sprayers.

also had a summer job last year as a "Chicken Puller", unloading chickens from transport cages (around 800 birds per cage) and had to hand them up a hole in the floor of the second floor. well lets just say by the end of the shift, was covered in feathers, mud, bleeding scratches (them suckers have sharp claws), chicken blood, crap and pee.

It what I do now, I deliver a newspaper for a local newspaper and I have to put all of the parts to together and if the paper has an image that is black, the ink will get all of your hands. At the end of the route you might have hands that could be as black as night.

I've actually do one of the jobs that was showcased on the show. I'm a dog groomer. And let me tell you it's not as cute and fun as he made it seem. And I might add that the crazy lady that was on the show that was helping Mike Rowe, is so off her rocker that I just had to grimice to watch her groom dogs. I've cleaned up poo, pee, vomit, cleaned out drains full of nasty hair, and had to clean out anal glands(which stink to high heaven and will not poison or make you dog explode if they are not done-unlike what the crazy lady said). And you get scratched, bit, kicked, punched, you get hair in everything. Yes it's definatly a dirty job. But it pays the bills
