Mike goes to South Carolina and learns about shrimping. He also helps study the shrimp population in order to find out when it's time to open the shrimping season. He then goes to the swamps of Louisiana to catch some crawfish. Finally, Mike goes to Washington state to clean up an illegal tire dump and recycle some tires.moreless
  • Mike hops onboard a shrimp boat, a crawl fish boat, and gets himself involve in tire recycling, in an episode that never gets old no matter how many times that I have seen.moreless

In Mike's first job, he hops on board a commercial shrimp boat in North Carolina, and this would be the first time that he would get himself involved in this type of job. Before I watched this episode, I wasn't an advent viewer of Deadliest Catch, so I wasn't all to familiar with this life style all of the dangers that come with this life style, so some of the humor that was in this episode went over my head. But, now that I am an advent viewer of Deadliest Catch, I somewhat of an understand of what these people do for a living and so I understood the humor in this episode much better.

It seems that commercial fishermen, no matter if they are fishing the deadly waters of the Bering Sea, or trawling the waters of the Atlantic Sea, have the same type of sense of humor, very dark, cynical, and blunt to the point that it hits you in the head that one can't help by laugh at their jokes. The captain of this shrimp boat is no different from the men of Deadliest Catch, that he is a very humble guy that dose like the fact that they are people that are out there that would like to know more about his lifestyle, plus he has an inexperienced TV show host to push around while he on the boat to all of the work for him. That he is also doing this for free.

Also this type of feeling is also present in Mike's second job, fishing for crawl fish, but it seems that being in a smaller boat increases the humor that is between Mike and this boat's captain. Because there is no where to go and there is nobody else with them while they are fishing. Also in his job segment Mike's get a lot dirtier then the pervious ones and Mike's reaction to the swap's mud is classic.

The third job, which in my option is the weakest of the trio of jobs that he went through in this episode, in which he joins up with a crew of tire recyclers. While the entire segment isn't half bad, it had its monuments like Mike's reaction to when the tire gets pops and it sounds like a gunshot, but when compare the two pervious segments isn't as good as the other ones where.moreless
