Mike mentions Davy Jones' Locker. Davy Jones' Locker is a phrase that basically means the bottom of the sea and also the resting place of those who died at sea. "Davy Jones" was considered the devil of the seas. Upon death, a wicked sailor's body supposedly went to Davy Jones's locker (a chest, as lockers were called back then), but a holy sailor's soul went to Fiddler's Green, a happy land of fiddling and dancing.
