Mike calls pilot Mike Reardon "Sky King". Sky King was a 1940s-1950s American radio/television adventure series featuring Arizona rancher and aircraft pilot Schuyler (Skyler) "Sky" King. The show may have been based on a real person, Jack Cones, the Flying Constable of Twentynine Palms during the 1930s. Sky King captured criminals and found lost hikers using his plane.
