Dirty Sexy Money

In the first episode of the new drama Dirty Sexy Money, we are introduced to the Darlings, the richest family in New York.

The show begins as Nick George is making his way to his father's funeral. His father had been the family attorney for the Darlings, but has since recently been killed in a plane crash. Nick hates the time his father spent with the Darlings while he was growing up, forcing his father to hardly ever be around for him and his mother. Patrick "Tripp" Darling, lures Nick to replace his father with a large salary and ten million dollars for a charity foundation.

This episode also lays the foundation for future relationship issues. Specifically, Letitia Darling is said to have had a forty-year affair with Nick's father - something that even Nick didn't have a clue about.

Reverend Brian Darling resents Nick because of the affair, which is common knowledge to the Darlings but not to anyone else. Also, Patrick Darling IV is engaged in an unusual adulterous relationship with a male to female trans-gender person. Reverend Brian Darling has an illegitimate son, who was dropped off by his mother without warning. She soon ran off, leaving Brian with a son he never knew he had. However, the school will only accept the child if he formally accepts the child as his own. Brian does so, forming this new relationship.

The episode ends with Nick formally taking the job from Tripp Darling as he overlooks the waters where his father's plane went down. He is determined to make sure that if his father was murdered he is going to find out who did it.
