Simon is tortured by Nola to get the truth about her brother with the help of Nick. Later, he takes Simon to Darlings' private clinic to recover. There, Simon unveils the truth about his plans, the business he had with Nola's father, and who is behind all his evil deeds.

Trying to avoid her departure with her family, Jeremy proposes to Nola. When she rejects him, he goes on a crazy weekend in Vegas and marries Simon's nurse from the clinic. Then Nola returns to accept his proposal.

Nick is summoned to stop Lisa from publishing an expos on the Darlings. And while Brian redesigns Nick's apartment, Karen receives some life-changing news and Patrick takes his arrangement with the Congressman's wife to the next step by getting emotionally involved.moreless
  • As an ordinary episode it was as usual a fantastic episode of this fantastic season. However...

because of ABC and their idiocy, they decided to cancel a great show, simply because they thought that people would wait 10 months for the show to reappear on their schedules after a rocky first season due to the writers strike. They also did the same to Pushing Daisies and Eli Stone and where did they end up? So the consequences of this led to poor ratings figures (expectedly) and inevitably cancellation. This led to a lot of loose ends that were NOT tied up through no fault of the writers. Here is a list of the open threads:

*Patrick's vow to do whatever it takes to keep seeing the Congressman's wife
*Where is Dutch and why did he set up Letitia for his 'murder'?
*What is Dutch's hold over Simon?
    *What happened with Lisa's expos?
    *Does Andrea take back Brian?
*What does Nola do about Jeremy's marriage?

Stupid ABC!! And although I was happy Nick and Karen were together and she lost the evil spawn inadvertently caused by Lisa as I've become a Nick/Karen fan since the start of the season, I thought it was a little convienient that she lost the baby like that. It's a little too perfect even though I was willing it to happen...

    • Simon's Nurse: You need a change of scenery. Jeremy: I wouldn't know where to go. I used to. Back when I was Jeremy Darling. But my mother got arrested for murder and everything went to hell. I fell in love, hit my head, faked amnesia. Here I am. Simon's Nurse: Drinking your way back to amnesia. Jeremy: I'll call you when I get there.

    • Nick: When I think about all the surprises we've gotten from all the people we thought we knew... Karen: Like you ex? Nick: And yours. Karen: Oh. We can pick 'em, can't we? Nick: Yeah, we sure can.

    • Nola: Listen, I wanna marry you. I am ready to become Mrs. Jeremy Darling. Jeremy: There's just one... small... very, very small problem. Nola: Yeah? Jeremy: I already got married. Simon's Nurse: (enters room) He's a great catch, isn't he?

    • (Nola has a knife to Simon's neck.) Nick: Nola, put the knife down. Jeremy: It's a... it's a letter-opener.

    • (Tripp and Nick talk about a book about to be written on the Darlings.) Tripp: I'm afraid this is probably not just gossip. Richard described it as a tell-all book. And the author in this instance may well be the first person actually equipped to do just that. Nick: Who's the author? Tripp: Your soon-to-be ex-wife, Lisa.

    • Nola: What are you doing? Jeremy: Nola Lyons. Nola: Don't say those next four words. Jeremy: (bends down on one knee) Will you marry me?
