Jeremy Darling decides he wants a job and Nick has to find the most suitable place for him to work. It was hilarious when he was going through all the prospective jobs and none of them worked. Meanwhile, Tripp and Simon Elder are going to a poker game and Simon wants to win Darling Plaza. I was surprised that Tripp just gave it to Nick. It shows that he really does want to find out who killed Dutch, or it's just a clever cover. . . . Overall, another solid episode filled with humor and more mysteries and secrets being revealed.

The intrigue between Tripp Darling and his nemesis Simon Elder infensifies dragging Nick along. This time the point of combat is a high roller poker game where expensive things are played for.

The situation between the three continues to develop well, though the Nicks investigation into his fathers death has gone cold.

Karen's wedding plans hit a snag as she discovers she isnt divorced from her last hubby. Queue more sexual shennanagans. She has to be the most annoying character on the show and possibly on tv.

Paddy Jr. issues between serving the public and getting into the top tier of politics hangs on his exmarital relationship. Photographed once more with his lover - but only at the behest of his father who is trying to prove a point, the pressure on him continues to grow.

At least Jeremy character looks to be turning a corner - if only I believed he wouldnt relapse into his overwhelming personality.

You can help escape the feeling that this show provides of juggling several balls at once, or sceral swinging pendulums representing each member of the family.

While the overall story continues to build up very well and the picture of this little world grows, the individual episodic plotlines just do not do anything for me. They tend to remain pointless in their own context and dull - almost to the point of the showing becoming some fantasy soap-opera (ala dynasty) instead of a serial drama.

Im still not convinced that the show has a long future ahead of it, for if it werent Fr. Brian and Tripp characters Id probably be switching off. Still the overall plot arc across the series is still intriguing enough to keep me watching.
  • Much better episode that the previous one

Theres a big Poker game at large, Nick meets Simon who's throwing it, Simon demands that Nick make sure Tripp brings one specific piece of land to the table During the game, it appears that Nick is able to convince Tripp to bet the property that Simon wants. Simon wins the hand.

Karen learns that she's still married an has to tend to her previous husband to sign the papers, they end up sleeping together. Jeremy begins his new job as an parking attendant.

Mean while Patrick is caught with his lover by a blackmailer who takes photos of them, Tripp later sees his lover and tells her to leave the city; Patrick later hears of this and is not best pleased
  • A high stakes poker game, Marriage drama, Patrick Jnr. stands up to Tripp, Brian begins to bond with his son, Jeremy has his first day at work and a small secret is revealed at the end of the episode.

So I do not like the whole sex scandal, reletionship with a transvestite, 'leaving' thing of Patrick Jr. I think its because I don't like the girl. She is kind of whiny and I don't like how she wants Patrick to give everything up. I wanted her to take the money Tripp offered her!

I love Brian and his son. I love their little interactions I think they are hilarious. Especially the first scenes. Jeremy's first day at work. That was also great I loved the scenes where him and Nick were trying to work out where in the company he could work.

I also love Karen and all her marriages. I loved it when she went to get her marriage license and the guy knew who she was because she has been there so often. I really do not like her fiance though. I want her to get with Nick already. I really do not like Simon Elder. I was so glad that Tripp and Nick were working together almost against him in this episode. I can't wait to see what Patrick Jnr. was doing there. I still want Simon to go away though. I dont like him and I dont trust him. This was a good episode. My only criticism is Juliette didn't have enough scenes. She needs a major and good storyline already.
  • The better script continues with this episode. Things has settled in terms of getting the audience to have a feel of who and what the characters are. The game of intrigue begins.

The better script continues with this episode. Things has settled in terms of getting the audience to have a feel of who and what the characters are. The game of intrigue begins. Nick's quest to resolve his father's demise may just turn him into a pawn in the game played by Tripp Darling and Simon Elder. His blind obsession may get the best of him, but perhaps he will learn from his lesson; after all, his promised, un-doctored NTSB report had led him to a dead end for the moment.

Karen's ex, Sabastian, was dreamy. And if he was an anthropologist as he was mentioned to be, he would have made a dreamy, intelligent spouse. Somehow, the decor of his digs and too polished an appearance gave one the impression that he was perhaps indeed an anthropologist but the kind that posed more for TV shows than the one actually performing a ritual circumcision (or so, he said . . . ).

Jeremy's venture into the family business was realistic. Despite his wanting to clean up his life, he still could not shake off his spoiled brat attitude, and that was realistic. What he did as a valet in the parking garage, swapping cars to avoid problems, was a typical jerky and bratty solution to people of his type. Somehow, one caught a glimmer of him that did not want to use the family name "to seal the deal," and that came at the end of his scene in this episode, when he refused to use his surname when he got flatly rejected by the woman who used the valet service. Brian, too, has settled down. It was a deft script that called his little boy to want the same brand-name watch his father wore, the Patek Philippe. And in a gesture that redeemed himself, Brian was seen to start a father-and-son bonding that was denied him when he himself was growing up, and he seemed to be doing so not grudgingly, as evidenced by his showing his son how to distribute the syrup equally in a stack of pancakes. Thank goodness for the absence of Nick's wife, whose character and portrayal have yet to convinced me. In her lieu, unfortunately, was his secretary who used to be fine the way she was, but in a scene where she was trying to cheer Nick up, she seemed to ham it up just a tad bit too much. What's with that?

And Patrick? He has crossed to the other side by having a meeting with his father's supposed enemy, Simon Elder. It seems that Simon Elder has everyone on his payroll. But with the current Writers Guild of America strike, how many more episodes before we run into a rerun?

  • This show is fast becoming one of my favorite series in a long time. It seems to be that this episode was intended to reveal that Tripp Darling is much more aware of everything that occurs with his crazy family then we have been lead to believe.

Tripp Darling was first introduced to us as a very rich man, who was significantly lacking in his awareness of what was going on "behind the scenes" with his family. This couldn't have been made clearer then when it was revealed that he was unaware of his wife's affair with with Nick's father. ( I am of the opinion that he knew exactly what was happening ). Now we find out that he has the ability to manipulate situations (for better or for worse) to exercise his power over the memembers of his family. He obviously knew what he was doing with Jeremy. And in guiding Jeremy through Darling industries, Tripp was introducing Nick to the entire empire. Also, the way he arranged the paparazzi circus to scare his eldest son into ending his affair was rather creative. The most touching moment is when it is revealed that Tripp is willing to give up something so dear to him and his wife to help Nick. He also tells Nick that he wants to pass control of Darling Industries to Nick in the future. Although, we know that Tripp has the power to manipulate, you have no choice to believe the sincerity of it all. In the end, I think that the information regarding which child is NOT a Darling, will be the biggest pawn in Tripp's plan. I can't wait to see how this pans out.

I love the artful way the writers makes us constanstly question Nick's morals and ethics during the search for imformation regarding his father's death. Just when we thing he has stepped over the line, they remind us that this is Nick - and he is NOT a Darling.
  • A high stakes poker game, Jeremy starts work as a parking valet and Karen has to put add personal touch to the negotiations with her last husband over the needed signatures to finalize their divorce.

Dirty Sexy Money is my favorite new series, but this was the most disappointing episode of this season. As a favorite I don't ask for much. Just the outrageous behavior I have come to expect and love. But here's what we got:

Patrick is still with his transsexual lover and they even were caught by drive by paparazzi. They just turned out to be working for Tripp. Jeremy started work parking cars. He crashes the first one he tired to park. The owner was a babe. Blah, blah blah. Karen had to sleep (well there was no actual sleeping involved) with he third husband to get him to sign off on the divorce so she can marry number four. Boring.

Juliet was hardly even in the episode. I read somewhere that Samarie Armstrong had some problem and was in rehab. I guess that is why she missed this episode.

The big scene was a high stakes poker game with lots of underlying plot lines. I hope this turns into more interesting episodes than "The Game".

I thought the beginning was a little slow, but the flashback scene at the end with the flashback of the extended scene was amazing. It makes me want to go back and rewatch the episode now, knowing that Tripp knew from the moment on about his plan. I thought everyone had some pretty solid storylines, but you didnt get much better then that. I think there was a lot of advancement with Karens character as well as the priest and his son. Jeremy getting his job was devoloped very well. I thought the end of the episode was pretty blockbuster too, with the presidential Darling walking into Simon Elders office as soon as Nick left. To follow that up, the man that Nick George thought killed his father turns up dead in his apartment that morning, just to thicken the plot. I dont know if we have a firm answer that this man killed Nicks father, but Im certainly interested to see how the writers are going to devolop it.
