Dirty Sexy Money

Sofia and Jeremy are naked together in bed. Sofia asks Jeremy on when he will start painting her. Jeremy sweet-talks Sofia into believing that the wait will be worth it. He promises her that he'll start working on the painting the following day.

Ellen and Patrick just finished doing the deed. Ellen is satisfied with their morning lovemaking. Patrick vows to become truthful to his wife from then on. While Ellen takes a shower, Patrick answers a phone call. It is Carmelita who tells him of his suspicion that someone is following him from class. He thinks that that person broke in his apartment.

Nick wakes in bed while Lisa is on her laptop, chatting with a painter who will help with the "Jeremy Darling project". Since Jeremy plans to continue with the lie he has started of being a struggling artist, he will come to the art gallery to learn from Lisa's contact. Simon calls Nick and asks him to come to his office that morning. Simon wishes to discuss something about a delicate matter. In bed with Simon is Karen who spent the night and is going through with their tryst. Simon and Karen discuss their plans for the night. Someone is coming to town who Simon wants Karen to meet.

Tripp goes to see Brian in church and assure him that nothing is going to change even as he knows Brian is not his son. Brian leaves Tripp in the church to meet with his head reverend. The head reverend reminds Brian of all his indiscretions. Brian tries to defend himself by pointing out the hardship of losing his son. The reverend tells him that he has been suspended for six months and that he needs to attend counseling and workshops on sexual addiction. He suggests to Brian to ask himself whether he still wants to continue serving the Lord.

Nick opens up to Simon his concerns about Simon's family's connection to his father Dutch. Simon assures him that he has no personal vendetta against the Darlings. He tells Nick that he just wishes to make the improvements in New York without Tripp and his family getting in the way. Simon asks Nick for a copy of the Darling's complete account statements. He also confesses to Nick about his current status with Karen.

During breakfast in the Darling home, Letitia brings up the upcoming Nutcracker event. Karen says she won't be able to attend. Out of the blue, Juliet opens up the topic of Brian not being their brother. She and Karen feel bad for Brian about the recent revelation. Brian walks in on them talking about him. Juliet excitedly runs out of the room to meet his French boyfriend, Kai.

Letitia and Brian sit and talk about the decision Brian needs to make about his current situation. He confides that he is unsure of whether he wants to go back serving the church. Letitia points out his strengths as as preacher. Brian reveals his doubt about his own faith and God. Letitia finally suggests to Brian to go talk to "his father".

Lisa and Jeremy meet up at the gallery to wait for their hired painter. Jeremy comments on a huge sponge-like art piece in the middle of the gallery. Lisa explains why it is priced so high. Back at home, Juliet wishes for Kai to stay longer. Tripp agrees to give the documents Simon is asking for and assures Nick that they have Simon Elder right where they want him.

Karen sits in Nick's office and hands him the profit and loss statements of the Darlings. Karen asks what those are for, but Nick refuses to tell her what they were for. Karen makes Nick promise not to tell Tripp about her and Simon. Nick agrees. Karen leaves the office.

At Carmelita's home, Patrick assures him everything is going to be alright. Patrick checks the house for bugs and promises Carmelita to get someone for the round-the-clock surveillance of his home.

Brian finally goes to Tripp and expresses his questions regarding the path he wishes to take. He tells Tripp he is intrigued and fascinated by the idea that there is something or someone self-sacrificing enough to give up his own life to produce more life. Tripp reveals to him that he envies Brian for his intellect and his ability to ponder the truly important questions in life. Brian is confused as to what he wants to do.

Back at the gallery, Lisa tells Jeremy the painter will not be able to come. While Jeremy talks to Lisa, he notices that Lisa could stand in for Sofia and be "his model". Lisa despises the idea. Jeremy brings out some weed to help Lisa relax.

At Elder's home, Karen meets Simon's ex-wife during dinner. She tells Karen how she and Simon met. Karen asks them if they are still married. Simon tells her that they are divorced and that they have kept the friendship. Simon relates to Karen that his ex-wife approves of her.

Meanwhile, Clark is inside Carmelita's place setting up a surveillance camera. Carmelita gives him some steamed rice and hard-boiled eggs for his stakeout. Clark reassures Carmelita that there is nothing to worry about.

Stoned, Jeremy and Lisa get comfortable with each other. Lisa persuades Jeremy to once and for all be honest with Sofia about his true identity and his feelings about her. She points that that once Sofia sees who he truly is, she will be able to love him for what he is. Lisa becomes emotional and realizes that she is losing Nick to the Darlings. She lets out her dissatisfaction with their current situation and about competing for Nick's attention and time. Jeremy sits on Lisa's lap and leans in to kiss her. Lisa makes him promise not to do it ever again.

The Darling home is filled with performers for the Nutcracker and dozens of others who will be watching. Kiki, Nick's daughter, is fascinated by the place. Juliet sits down with his new beau Kai and is excited for him watching the event for the first time. Karen arrives and surprises Nick with her sudden appearance. The Nutcracker show starts as everyone in the family and their guests watch.

Back at the gallery, the buyer of the art piece smells marijuana off the item she is buying. She walks out and changes her mind about buying the item. Lisa is reprimanded by her boss and gets fired from her job.

Ellen and Patrick have breakfast together. Patrick expresses his happiness over Ellen still wanting him in her life. Clark calls Patrick and tells him Carmelita is gone from his apartment. They investigate what may have happened in his place. Clark apologizes to Patrick.

In the meantime, Brian who is wearing a suit enters Tripp's office and tells him his decision of wanting to work for Tripp. Tripp feels proud and welcomes Brian to the enterprise. Nick confronts Simon about Karen being upset and insists that he stay away from Karen. Nick gives the financial statements to Simon and reminds him that he is doing it for business and nothing else.

Jeremy comes clean with Sofia and tells her he is not really a painter. He tells her about his being a Darling. Sofia is mad that Jeremy betrayed her trust. She is disappointed with him and leaves him. At the Darling home, Kai tells Juliet that he will stay indefinitely. This makes Juliet very happy. Juliet confesses to Kai that she wishes for him to be "her first"

At home, Lisa tells Nick she got fired and how she lost her job. Lisa confesses to Nick that she just wants something exciting and different to happen. That is why she took the marijuana with Jeremy. Nick suggests to Lisa having another kid and that lights her face up. Lisa is so happy she kisses Nick. Finally, Karen walks into Tripp's office to assure her father that she is not getting emotionally involved with Simon Elder and that things are going as planned.
