Going back, Jeremy was thrown down the stairs by Nick to get out of the way of rampaging Chase. The episode starts with Jeremy waking up and apparently has amnesia.
The family was being interviewed about Chase's attack. Through the interview, we learn that Chase shot four bullets. One grazed Nick's arm, two hit nothing, and one killed Carmelita.
Nick and Karen were eating in an empty diner, watching the interview. Karen asked to just be friends.
Chase was still alive, well on life support, after getting shot twice. Tripp implied that he wants Chase dead and everyone agreed. They didn't want a chance of him waking up and ruining their image. Chase's wife, however, wanted to annul the will and keep her husband on life support in hopes that he would awaken. Nick goes to talk to Chase's wife during which Chase awakens for a short moment and falls back into his coma. She demands that he is kept on life support.
During the custody hearing of Nick and Lisa, Lisa agrees to consider 50-50 custody if Nick can handle one weekend well.
Brian is welcomed to the church after an argument with Andrea. He talks to Nick about a large donation and it's implied that their father may be alive. Meanwhile, Tripp and Patrick talk about the death of Carmelita.
For the court battle of whether Chase would be taken off life support, Chase's daughter takes the stand and Nick gives up, stating that he didn't want to take her dad from her. Nola is angry that he gave up and is later ordered by Simon to kill Chase.
Nola goes to talk to Jeremy, which is still in amnesia, and she's sad and gives reason for Jeremy to worry. He then tells Nick which finds Nola at the hospital with Chase. Nick tells her that he will not let her take Chase off life support. As they're leaving, Patrick arrives. He talks to Chase and then decides not to kill Chase and leaves.
Tripp approaches Nick and says that he did not kill Dutch. He also says that Chase died during the night.
Nola comes to talk to Jeremy and finds out that he was faking the amnesia so he could help her.
