Karen and Nick are sitting in marriage counsel when Nick's phone rings. He ignores it, but it rings several more times. Nick finally answers when he sees that it was Brian Jr. Brian Jr. wants Nick's help to stay with both parents in New York.
Letitia asks Nick to get out of her house arrest to be at Patrick's senator party. Nick says he can't do anything, but Jeremy says he can. Later, Nick asks Nola if his mom can be excused from house arrest and she complies.
Karen goes to see Simon Elder, but he's in a meeting. He breaks up with her in front of the members of the meeting. Karen goes to Nick to ask for help and Nick, in turn, goes to talk to Simon. Simon says that he knows Karen will come back to him and that he wants Karen's shares.
Patrick wants Carmelita to be at his campaign party, but Tripp refuses. An argument ensues, but it broken up by Chase arriving. Chase was Ellen's brother and accuses the Darlings of foul play.
Lisa goes to look at gallery space, but is shut down because she doesn't know any high celebrities.
Nick meets with Chase and Chase is pretty accurate about what happened to Ellen. Tripp wants Chase to be paid off and Nick offers Chase money and a position in Darling Enterprises, which he accepts.
Leaving the polling station, Lisa runs into Jeremy. Jeremy says he will partner with Lisa so she can get her gallery. Lisa asks Nick at lunch if she can open the gallery with Jeremy, but he says no. Lisa returns to the gallery to say that she doesn't want it, but the owner says Jeremy already called and the gallery is theirs. Jeremy convinces her to keep the gallery behind Nick's back.
Andrea calls Brian saying that Brian Jr. has run away. They frantically look for him.
Tripp goes to talk to Carmelita and tells her the truth about Ellen. At the election party, Carmelita tells Patrick that they're through and leaves. Karen runs into Nick at the party and Nick tells Karen the truth about Simon, but she doesn't believe him and decides to marry Simon. Patrick confronts Tripp after Carmelita left and gets into a heated argument with him, which results in Tripp having a heart attack. Tripp is sent to the hospital, Patrick gets the senate seat, and Karen accepts marriage.
