She has also guest starred in numerous detective shows such as Midsummer Murders, Poirot, Miss Marple, Hetty Wainthropp Investigates and Heartbeat.. In addition, she was a guest star, acting alongside Sir David Jason, in two episodes of The Darling Buds Of May. She has experienced great success on the stage. One of her first roles was as a stripper at the Royal Exchange in a play called Seduced. Early in her career, she toured internationally with The Royal Shakespeare Company in a production of Sheridan's School For Scandal and starred alongside Dame Judy Dench. Also, Celia has starred in numerous productions by Glasgow's Citizen's Theatre. In the late 1990s, Celia started to appear in feature films. In 1997 she starred in one of her first leading roles when she played Homily Clock in The Borrowers opposite Oscar nominated Jim Broadbent and John Goodman.
