It seems most of Portwenn is suffering from the runs and Martin decides the pool at the Leisure Centre is the cause so orders it to be shut down,causing panic in the process.When it becomes obvious that the pool water is okay,Martin then decides it must be the town's water supply.
After having made an inauspicious debut on Radio Portwenn with his monosyllabic responses to Caroline's questions,Martin returns to the radio station to implore the locals not to drink the water until they have boiled it.Caroline is furious and Martin again suffers the wrath of the locals.
All is not well with Large & Son as Al decides he wants to study computers at College,much to Bert's chagrin.Al quits the family plumbing business and moves out of home.It is only when Martin intervenes and suggests that Al can study at night and work with his Dad during the day that things return to normal.In the meantime Bert has been moonlighting as the local supplier of bottled water and makes a fortune during the town's water crisis,however,it is revealed that Bert's 'fresh spring water' is anything but and is the real cause of the mass outbreak of diarrhoea!
This wonderful episode concludes with Roger Fenn swallowing his pride and accepting Louisa's invitation to return to the Portwenn School and head up the newly created music department,which is music to everyones ears.moreless
