Doctor Finlay

Show Summary

Welcome to the Doctor Finlay guide at TV.com.

A follow-up to Dr. Finlay's Casebook, the successful BBC series. This show picks up the story in the days immediately following World War II. Dr Finlay returns to the practice at Arden House in Tannochbrae at a time when the National Health Service is about to be instituted.

There are two deviations from the original series. Dr Finlay, originally called Alan, is now John. There is also a change of location. The original 'Tannochbrae' was in fact Callander in Perthshire; this series is filmed in Auchtermuchty in Fife.

Doctor Finlay is based on characters created by A. J. Cronin, and is a Scottish Television production for the ITV network.
